Is Chuck Nuking The Fridge?

A wave of stunt casting is going on over at spy-comedy Chuck. We reported the addition of Super Bowl champion Michael Strahan and Nicole Richie, but NBC is also adding Michael Clarke Duncan and Melinda Clarke. Duncan plays a villain in the season premiere, and Clarke will be in the second episode. Plus John Larroquette is joining the cast as a semi-regular. I'm going to go out on a huge limb here and assume that everyone has a secret. Just how big is the mall where Chuck works anyway? More »

The Explosive "Wanted" Shootout You Will Never Get To See

Today's spoilers include a scene from Wanted that destroyed James McAvoy's crotch, but ended up cut from the film — and it won't even be on the DVDs. (The scene's description also gives away the movie's big plot twist.) We also have our second batch of rumors about the villain(s) of the Avengers movie. And there's a new clip from Saturday's Doctor Who, and new details about Heroes, Chuck and the American Life On Mars. It may be summer, but the spoilers never stop flowing. More »

Has The Villain Of The Avengers Movie Already Been Revealed?

Sometimes fake spoilers are more fun than real ones — as in the case of a Transformers 2 script treatment that's probably fake, but hilarious. It can also be fun to watch people speculate wildly, as one insider has about the plot of the Avengers movie. And there's nothing more fun than a passel of G.I. Joe rumors. But then again, it's sometimes cool to have actual facts, like what was the deal in last Friday's Battlestar Galactica, or what's coming up next on Heroes, Lost, Chuck or The Middleman. We also have a new Wanted clip, and the first pic of the monster from The Descent 2. A bevy of fake and real spoilers await. More »

Why Is Optimus Prime Getting Religion?

Spoiler alert: A new Hancock clip reveals the movie's final big twist, and a ton of new Hulk clips show exactly what Liv Tyler is doing in this movie. A new Dark Knight TV spot reveals that... ummm, the Joker is weird, I guess. And a new Doctor Who clip is just plain intriguing. There are also new details about M. Night Shyamalan's The Happening, Chuck, and Smallville. Jorge Garcia shares his wild-and-crazy vision for Lost season five, and it sounds jam-packed with awesome. New pics from Clone Wars, Sarah Connor Chronicles and Spectacular Spider-Man give us new glimpses of new Jedi, monsters and punk-rock software execs. But weirdest, and most alarming of all, is the news of where Optimus Prime hangs out in Transformers 2. Spoiler whores, assemble! More »

new comics we crave

Man-hating Amazons and Bastard Children Make This Week's Comics Fun For All The Family

This is hardly a banner week for comic stores, and no, that’s not a pun to tie in with the upcoming Incredible Hulk movie. While there may be lots of new books coming out, it’s fairly light on ones that’ll grab your attention unless you’re looking to read up on this summer's big movie heroes before hitting the theaters. If that's your plan, though, then you can expect a Hulk-themed look at family and gender issues, the best of The Dark Knight's bad guys, and a hero with a red right hand, waiting for you under the jump. Watch The Hulk Talk And Hancock Drink -- A Lot

A random thought: Many narratives are spoiler-proof. You pretty much know the main story beats of any superhero movie before you watch it. All that happens when you read spoilers is that you consume extra bits of the narrative out of sequence (which may make the story actually feel more intriguing, and add an extra layer of meaning when you watch the complete work and see how those pieces fit). In other words, we're doing Hollywood a favor by sharing spoilers — including new clips from Incredible Hulk and Hancock and set reports from Transformers 2 and Watchmen. It's also totally healthy to look at a super-spoilery picture from the Doctor Who season finale, and to soak up the new info about Chuck, Lost, The Middleman and Heroes. More »

"Technology is Another Version of Communism or Aliens or a Large Praying Mantis"

Does science fiction appeal mainly to audiences who are ignorant about how technology works? That seems to be the message from creators of some of TV's most innovative science fiction, who talked to Variety about why viewers are hot for tech-centric shows. Some of last seasons's best new shows were about technology run amok (Chuck, Sarah Connor Chronicles); next season's Battlestar spinoff Caprica, plus JJ Abrams' Fringe and Ron Moore's Virtuality promise more. Though scifi has historically been deemed the purview of techie geeks, creators from many of these shows agreed that people are fascinated by them because they find technology (and especially computers) terrifyingly incomprehensible. Wanna Know Who's In That Coffin On Lost?

There are some things in the new Indiana Jones movie that will only make sense if you've read a lot of spoilers in advance — because they're never explained on-screen, but they're covered in depth in the leaks and over-sharing promo materials for the film. It just proves that spoilers can actually enhance your appreciation of a movie. To that end, we have major head-kicking spoilers for the Lost season finale. We also have new set pics from G.I. Joe. First Look At Anna Torv In Fringe And Hiro's New Foe!

Today's spoilers include clips from the next episodes of castaway drama Lost and time-travel adventure Doctor Who. And another early review of M. Night Shyamalan's apocalyptic movie The Happening gives away most of its plot twists — but they don't sound that twisty in any case. We have the first promo image from J.J. Abrams' FBI show Fringe, and a picture of Hiro's new enemy on super-mutants show Heroes. Plus there's the secret ending of tonight's episode of young-Superman show Smallville, and some minor spoilers for Chuck, Kyle XY and Stargate: Atlantis. Spoilers are our life's blood, so drink up! R.I.P. Charlton Heston If you hadn't heard the news by now, Charlton Heston passed away Saturday night at the grand old age of 84. His broad-shouldered, square-jawed, teeth-gritting acting style launched historical characters from Moses to Judah Ben-Hur, but we were more fixated on his body of science fiction work, which was considerable as you can see from our breakdown. Hopefully people around the world will be shouting "Get your stinking paws off me!" or "Soylent Green is people!" as a sign of mourning.

Chuck's Comic Book Spinoff Full of Tickle Fetishism

Corporate crossovers take another step forward this month, as DC Comics announced that they'll be publishing a six issue mini-series spin-off from NBC's nerdspy show Chuck, which is produced by WB Television... who just happens to share a corporate parent with DC. The series is described in the advertising solicitation as a "globe-trotting, action-packed adventure." More »
