I was going to say "Flight of the Phoenix," a Jimmy Stuart tour-de-force that rivals "Twlve Angry Men" and "Lifeboat" for an examination of group dynamics under adversity, but then I remembered it had already been Quaided. So I voted for Mork, because Robin Williams has just gotten too old to do that whole "nanoo nanoo" schtick convincingly.
However, on hindsight, my real choice would be "Yor: Hunter from the Future," because it is such an important piece of cinema and any attempt to redo it would be a travesty. #cocoon

Yet to be mined for YARM: other Krofft properties that aren't Land of the Lost. Ponder the possibilities of movie versions of:

Lidsville
Sigmund the Sea Monster
H. R. Puffnstuff

I especially like the idea of a Lidsville movie, but only as it would be done by Tarantino. #cocoon

There's only one movie in this list with Crispin Glover, making my vote easy. The only other film on the list I care a hill-a-beans about is Galaxy Quest, but that one is way to recent for a reboot, so I don't think it will happen anytime soon. I grew up loving Back to the Future though.

I LOVE Max Headroom too, but I'd actually like to see that one remade. I love the original, and I think with an edgy enough director, it could make a killer remake.

The most horrific of all reboots would be to redo "Star Wars," with, say, Shaia LeBoef, or maybe one of the kids from iCarly as Luke, and with the whole thing made to more closely "match" the prequels...including a wacky, older, forgetful Jar-Jar.

Now is the time to remake Max Headroom. The basic concept of a digitized persona bopping around in a hyperconnected, data-drenched age is more relevant today than it was in the 1980s. #cocoon

I was going to add another to the list, Planet of Apes. Then a suppressed memory of the remake came back, back to therapy for me.

BTTF. A trilogy that needs no remake.

This is a tough vote to cast- is it the remake that would bother me the most because I liked the original and I'd hate to see it corrupted, or the remake of something awful that will continue to be even more awful? because that list contains both. #cocoon

Twilight Zone. Yeah, it's not on the list but a few attempts have been made to resurrect it with questionable results. Sometimes you can't capture lighting in a bottle twice.. #cocoon

@Jrsy Devil's Advocate®: This is kind of a weird comment. Do you mean the Twilight Zone film? Because that was basically a remake of its own, taking old episodes and stringing them together, and I think somewhat less than perfect. But a new Twilight Zone series, if they could actually get together a collection of talent like they had in the original run, would be awesome. The later attempts at the series were pretty lame, although I remember kind of enjoying the recent remake of "The Monsters are Due on Maple Street". But I think they should go for new stories rather than just revising old ones. But it's been a long time since there was a decent anthology series on television, and there's no reason why it couldn't work, as long as they put a lot of effort into it.

And what the hell is Galaxy Quest doing on this list? A decent movie, but it doesn't seem to mesh with the others listed here. #cocoon

I would not be against a Gremlin remake, if it was more sequel-ly than remak-y (new character, new situations etc.). As long as the Gremlins are NOT CGI. No chipmunks in my Gremlins!

I don't think you could ever MAKE a BttF remake that works. I mean, it's so linked to a particular era (the 80's and the 50's) that doing a BttF remake would mean completly modernizing the movie so it's about a 2000's kid going into the 80's. Which is so different from BttF that you could call it a new movie instead of a remake. #cocoon

@collex: That's a really good point. You'd almost have to rewrite the entire series to update it to a different two eras.

I don't doubt, however, somebody in 20+ years will say, "Hey, we should remake BttF!" By then, it might actually be a good idea. #cocoon
