    I thought that coffee and cigarettes were the worker control drug of choice. Just keep mainlining the caffeine and nicotine kids!


    But seriously, considering the primitive state of chemical enhancements like steroids, viagra and ritalin, I'd rather the ambitious worker ants take all the early adopter risks before I pollute my body and brain with the stuff. I just want more improvements in life extension.

    @corpore-metal: What's wrong with HGH? It's said that it does all of the above, even regrows lost hair and reduces facial fat. What are the negatives? WHO CARES!

    Seeing that the S. Koreans and Japanese aren't doing better then then US on the Quality of Life index despite their 16 hours work days I'd say trying to make Americans even bigger workaholics isn't in the average working American's best interest. We're still the most productive country in the world but more work hours would just lead to less efficiency and lowered production.


    Just because I'm competing against John who has nothing else in his life but his work and is willing to work from 6 - Midnight doesn't mean that the work he's doing is better then mine. Sleep Deprivation is comparable to being drunk. It impairs memory, judgment, work speed, morale, performance, etc... Giving coffee to a drunk doesn't make him undrunk- it just gives you a drunk that's wide awake. You're body needs sleep. Stimulants won't do anything but keep you awake. They give you none of the benefits of a good nights rest.


    I'm sorry but the Company Man getting a 5% better bonus for making himself a slave to his job is never, EVER, going to be happier then the girl or guy that makes time to live their life or to spend time with their family. The only reason the French will ALWAYS come in higher on the Quality of Life index is because the work to live instead of living to work.

    @♠ Final ♠: And I meant to say in the begining that S. Ko. and Japan don't have better economies then the US despite the fact they higher working time (more hours worked a year.) The only thing competing with the next man is doing is making your boss more money and taking time away from your life.

    I just read The Dark Fields a few months ago and that has me spooked about taking any 'cognitive enhancers'.... though I wouldn't mind some Adderal, because it makes you focus AND lose weight.

    Who are the idiots (currently 7%) voting for meth? Even without impurities, that shit will mess you up badly and you won't get anything useful done.


    I don't think pot is a cognitive enhancer, but it'll help you relax after a day's frantic work, and counteract all the uppers listed.
