I'm really curious about its target audience. I can't seem to reconcile "comic-book geeks" and "opera-going people." Is it really just me?

@Dominus Astra: If it was an opera, I can see that, but it's a broadway musical, which aims for a huge mainstream audience.

Now ME, I'd prefer an opera. But I'm that kind of geek.

@Lassus: Yeah, except they're not calling it a musical. They're calling a - I'm not kidding - "circus rock-'n'-roll drama." Oh, and it apparently has little to do with the Raimi movies, which makes sense - why take anything from the most popular version of the character ever?

Despite coffindodger's bizarre little rant, I would like to see this happen, primarily to see what the music is like.

@Lassus: Me too. I was thinking we'd get to hear it either way, as maybe they'd release the music to help mitigate the lost funds. But how likely is it there's an release-quality recording of anyone performing the songs at this point? Not. Very.

We'll wait to see if they can out dance the Peter Parker dance scene in Spider-Man 3.

Bit of advice to Bono... This time, when Peter does jazz hands, I better fucking see some spirit fingers or I'm walking out.

If 'save the day' is code for 'cast the script in concrete and chuck it off the Brooklyn Bridge', I'm all for it. Bonus points for turning the Times Square display board into the world's largest bugzapper.

Nice one Bono. Does that mean it will be incredibly unwatchable and disapear up its own arse during the third act??!! Maybe we could get The Edge in t do all the music. Or at least one rift so we can copy and paste! Oh yeah....and who thinks the new 'Bono' Spiderman will give his spidey mask to the pope at the end of the act. I do! It will end world hunger and bring peace to the universe...includng Mars! Oh and if its going ahead......they MUST use those 3 costumes in the picture!

As I am unable to resist making a Terry Prachett reference . . .
These zombie sound a lot like the ones from the discworld. Maybe Reg Shoe did some campaigning to get a more accurate potral of the undead.

In reply to Exiled Fables Could Find a New Home on Television
This could possibly work... on HBO or Showtime.
Maybe TNT, Bravo, or a co-production with the BBC. (Actually, the latter would be cool. I can't for the life of me imagine Prince Charming as a yank.)

that said, there is absolutely zero chance that ABC won't whiz this project straight down their trouser leg.

On the plus side, it's an incredibly ambition TV project, and will probably be so cost-prohibitive (especially if they plan on incorporating The Farm, Bigby in Wolf form, wooden soldiers, etc...) that it will never make it past the initial pilot stage.

Ugh ABC? Well I guess it's better than ABC Family.

Seriously though, they should put it on a network where it might get more love and freedom to follow the comics exactly -- like Showtime or HBO, especially when they bring in the Goldilocks storyline.
