Sorry to be a downer, but if this was an attempt at humor, it's pretty homophobic.

Regardless, the "joke" wasn't funny.

For one thing, the con's gotten a LOT sexier and kinkier since the Goth's invaded it. Every year I look at these tall whippet-thin people in latex and wonder where they live the rest of the year and what kind of job allows those sorts of piercings.
No one blinks an eye if you're a drag queen or a furry as long as you don't act out around kids. It's more intent on you relishing your fetish having your fun than selling next season's dreck. So if you're 350 lb's or a male and still love a corset or love a little whipping in the hallway, D*C will accomondate you even if the hotel freaks out.
Nudity seems to be encouraged. An outfit of a little "caution" tape, a little body paint, etc, all seem good. Or little more than a helmet if you're a Spartan. The police will throw you out if you don't have at least a g-string on and pasties aren't legal. However, they've recently seemed to relax the pasties rule if the gallaries are to be believed.
It's a bigger party environment. You parade around the lobbies in nothing, drink a LOT of booze and party on the patios and rooms that are conveniently upstairs.
Big cons like CC tend to hire hot unemployed actresses/waitresses to man the booths and hand out free bags. They'll let a nerd drool over them but they won't go for a drink. At D*C, the hot men and women pay to be there to be ogled and enjoyed.

B) Yesterday, I went to Wizard World Philadelphia (we don't rate an actual comic con, I guess) as part of a TQP excursion--and I have to say that, at least in the Friday afternoon crowd, there were hardly any women there not accompanied by at least one man.
I'm not trying to make any generalizations here, I'm just saying that I've yet to see small or large entirely-female groups wandering the aisles yet--though still plenty of groups of men.

So you've got a tiny percentage of single comic loving girls, and probably a handful of the involved ones that are ok with that (nudge nudge wink wink knowattimean?). Overall, not exactly good odds.

Most of the guys are either awkward and/or intimidated by females (I was, so I'm talking from experience here) so if you are the least bit suave and have decent hygiene the odds improve.
