I think I'd go with Rusty and Donna, and add Yorrick, Rodney McKay and The Middleman. As far as computer games go, I'd like to tip my hat to Nathan Drake in Uncharted, he's a damn cool guy. The banter between the characters in Uncharted 2 had me in stitches so many times I had to do-over several levels.
Surprised McKay isn't getting a lot of shouts here so far, btw.
This actually reminds me of a mural they have that this local pizza place. I am not sure which is my favorite: the little mermaid and Namor or Hook and Logan.
I might have to backpedal my positive opinion of Kick-Ass, in light of reading issue 7.
Millar took an easy out for the story, the characters, and washed-out any value to the central idea. Also, the rumor regarding the last issue(s) not coming out until the film is released is... greedy? Insulting? Genius?
@badSamurai: Inconsistent work is a matter of opinion (nobody bats 1000; lookin' at you Morrison and Moore). Missed deadlines, stuff happens.
Literary cop-outs and money-grabs are failureful. If he makes a commercial for jeans or cars, that's it, we're done.
As far as your idea of trades go, good call... but that interferes with the Bait-And-Switch. If the work is collected as a trade paperback, it can be dismissed as -sucking- all at once, instead of readers discover it sucks after many issues. Case in point: BS ending of the Wanted comic.
@gods-n-clods: Morrison "bats" dam close (sorry i just pretty much love everything hes done, to the point of irrationality)
And yeah your right they can't hock 4 issues till its obvi the wheels have came off.
He did do Ultimates 1 and 2 was pretty legit. I haven't read Kick-Ass so I can't make a decision. But I have picked up Ult Avengers, and the Old Man Logan trade. Ult avengers is ok, if not moving really really really slow.
But I really don't get the fan fare behind old man logan. I personally wish i would have never bought it. I think read the 8 or 9 issues, in like an 2 or 3 hours. And the story was just mehhhh. Doom really just lets him go (which is soooooo just open for the sequel), Bruce banner as an evil, incestuous murderer (mind you the Hulks actual body count (in marvel continuity)is like what 2 or 3)
I dont dislike him, hes just the Charlie Weis of Comics. And I probably will never buy anything he does in issues ever again, or in hardcover.
@LittleDragon: My mother did whack me a lot as kid. For good reason though. Kept me in line, and I developed excellent reflexes. I remember being told if I didn't want to get hit, either shut up or block.
@RoboBagins: Darn it. All I got as a child was the occasional strangulation by older brothers. There are disadvantages to being a good kid that they just don't warn us about.
I've been following this movie for awhile and it actually looks good but it is going to be really hard for me to swallow my pride and go see another movie with Nic Cage in it. I swore I would never see another movie with his hack acting in it.
@edosan: Adaptation, Leaving Las Vegas, Face/Off, 8mm, Raising Arizona, Lord of War.
I heard Honeymoon in Vegas was pretty good but I never watched it, and Bad Lieutenant just came out and that's supposed to be really good.
My theory about Nic Cage is that no matter the movie he'll commit himself 110%. Which means that if the movie itself sucks, he will suck 110% and if it's good he's be awesome 110%. There's no real middle ground. And unfortunately since Adaptation he lost all sense of decency. Bad Lieutenant and this movie seem like they'll fall into the good category though.
I guess nobody told the director that you don't just 'get back up' after taking a slug to the chest. Even with a vest on, someone that size would be completely winded. And she'd have a massive bruise there too..
@Starwatcher: Just how much do you know about guns? I'm asking because I'm inclined to call bullshit on that video. Someone taking a .357 magnum round to the chest and not even taking a step back is unheard of and physically impossible.

Ehh Millar is a bastard, in good and bad ways. His books NEVER EVER EVER EVER EVER seem to come out on time. Which is really aggravating.
He needs to move to a Manga Trade format, and just release a couple trades a year.
