@disatess: Gah, I was totally projecting there. I've been mixing up Image Comics with First Comics since about 1993. First and Eclipse were about 10,000 times the publisher Image ever was.
Huzzawha??? Powers is now going to be released by Marvel!?!!!
The same Powers that is 10% clitoris jokes, 30% monkeys having sex, and 75% dropping F-bombs? (I know that equals 115%, but Bendis has a lot of F-bombs to drop)
Does Marvel know what they're getting into, or is this going to be the first comic book composed entirely of asterisks?
@bluehinter: GOD FUCKING DAMMIT. Is this why Powers vol 13 is nowhere to be seen? They're *relaunching* it? WHAT THE FUCK! Powers is one of the only good ongoing series left, and now they're Disney'd?
@tande04: Though it was technically under the Icon imprint. Owned by Marvel, but in the same way that Disney owns Miramax, and uses it to put out films that might not be appropriate for it's kid-friendly image.
I guess the regular Marvel label has become quite a bit darker as of late with the various Marvel Zombies and Thunderbolts titles, but I'd hate to think that my favorite 100% creator owned comic series was suddenly forced to clean up it's act because of the watchful eye of some mouse.
@tande04: Though if they plan on making Powers part of the regular Marvel canon, that also technically means Warren Ellis is part of the Marvel universe... A concept which makes me feel incredibly uneasy.
The first 50 issues of Shade are awesome. Besides Peter Milligan's psychedelic writing, you can totally watch Chris Bachalo grow as an artist. It's fan-f'ing-tastic. And Sean Phillips ("Sleeper," "Criminal") does the covers later on in the series!
I'm just picking up Dr. Horrible this week. There's nothing else on my radar until next week, and my wallet couldn't be happier about that. #alienlegion
Tell you what. Every time Io9 runs a Whedon-related article, we have to down a six-pack. We should all be dead of alcohol poisoning in no time. #alienlegion
It just occurred to me: Are new comics coming Thursday because of Veterans' Day?
Edit: Oh holy crap, how did I miss this? S.W.O.R.D. #1 comes out this week! Abigail Brand is the second best thing to come out of Joss's run on Astonishing (the best being Armor).
Pushing two words together is more Punishing... to grammer.
Plus it makes things look cool..like JeremyMax..or InternetMax... or TentaclePorn #avengers
@DocSeuss: Ah! Its Muphry's Law in effect. {^_^}!!!

Whilst I'm on entirely the wrong side of the Atlantic to have a hope of getting it before the trade, the Wall-E series actually has me really excited, as does Supergod. Although I'm reasonably sure a Supergod movie done by Pixar isn't going to be happening aaaaany time soon... #avengers
@Darklighter: yeah, i dunno, Rucka is sorta hit and miss for me. OMAC was definitely one of the cooler Infinite Crisis minis, and White Out was unique and well written, but his Elektra and Daredevil stuff was so very average IMO.
He does have a knack for the detective story though, and 'Strumptown' sounds up his alley.
Also looking forward to more Fables related fables. {^)^} #wonderwoman
Incredible Hercules has been one of my favorite comics for some time now, in part because of the hilarious onomatopoeia. The best of last issue was "SISY-POOF!" #wonderwoman

Also, having read and loved both volumes of Whiteout, I feel okay offering a blanket recommendation for Rucka's work. #wonderwoman
