    If you're looking for a scary read, try The Descent by Jeff Long. The first movie may or may not be based on it, but it's terrifying as all get-out.

    Big fan of the original movie, but the sequel won't be able to live up to expectations.


    Also, would it kill us to have a trailer that a) didn't give away a Big Reveal and b) was in the correct aspect ratio?

    This film makes no sense. Sarah didn't escape in the first film. It was a dream when she had blacked out that she had reached the surface.


    I think they changed this for the US release though. Still, I'm definitely missing this piece of crap, screams Blair Witch 2 to me.


    If you've seen Doomsday, you'll not want to go anywhere near Neil Marshall. Keep a wide birth...

    @Davidt Dunlop: The US release totally cut out the dream part. So she did escape. Mind you, I saw the uncut version and I was like, "WHOA!" and then I saw the US version and I'm like, "This smells like sequel fodder"

    The first film was fantastic.


    According to imdb, Neil Marshall is going to be an executive producer on the sequel (instead of returning as the director).


    And Rotten Tomatoes says the working title is... "De2cent"? No, that can't be right. That's even more ridiculous than "Tr2n."

    @lordshaper: honestly I don't even remember which version was which. I dug both endings for different reasons, but letting that ruin the movie for anyone is kind of missing the forest for the trees.

    @Dominus Astra: Oh, I think there's no need to fake that breakdown. Coming out of a dark cave covered in blood and human offal while the rest of your friends are, ah, missing can do some pretty interesting things to your psyche. Maybe even go vegetarian.

    @Dominus Astra: Hmm, I once was told that given the choice between prison and a mental institution, take prison. At least there you have a set release date (unless you're a lifer). In the nut house you have to wait for some doctor to decide you're sane, which may never happen, while you go really crazy from associating with the other inmates.

    the plot really picks up when sarah rescues newt, a young girl traped in the cave, and it becomes apparent that one of the rescue party memebers is trying to bring specimens of the crawlers back to the surface alive for further study.
