Not only did every single one of her multiple personalities have a different power, they sometimes merged to form other personalities.

Also, Scarlet Witch who has kind of the same thing going on as Spellbinder up there. The more she uses her ability to manipulate reality, the more her mind fragments from the disparity between the outcomes of her changes/actions. She subconsciously created children for herself using her powers (the father? The android Vision).

I'll argue that every superhero is mentally ill but my favorite was Mike Baron's Badger. The greatest of Madison, Wisconsin's super heroes!
Moff doesn't count, he blows up planets just like Dark Phoenix did, except with a big machine.

It had already been established several years ago in the comics, when Magneto sucked the adamantium right out of Wolverine's body.
@The_Sporean_Bob:

Batman and Superman are both heroes and "good-guys", but with almost diametrically opposed philosophies. Superman is all "uphold the law" and stuff, until he feels that it's just not working and he turns all socialistic in his approach and just "fixes" everything for us. Batman is willing to bend or even break the law in order to stop crime, but he has a stronger moral compass than Superman. There's a truly awesome debate between regular Batman and the alternate universe Justice Overlords Batman in an episode of Justice League. Basically it comes down to how far you should be willing to go to save lives. If eliminating personal freedoms can guarantee that noone will ever be murdered ever again, is it the right thing to do?
See, here's the thing. If you hold your honor above all, to the point that you're willing to let innocent people suffer and die that you won't have to sully your own honor...just how honorable are you, really? And Batman is all about walking the line between being wrong for not doing enough, and being wrong for doing too much.

Onslaught looks really stupid.
What about Liz Sherman from Hellboy? Don't tell me she's not a superhero- she can make fire and she fights monsters. Super.
And good gawd, how could you forget Jean Grey, the Dark Phoenix?
