I like the villain customization idea, though I hope that you don't have to level up too high before you're able to access it, and that you get the opportunity to create more than one, and possibly share them with your friends.

City of Heroes lets you design both hero and villain characters, but they sadly don't have any method of letting you fight your own creations. (perhaps that will change with the next "issue," where you'll be able to design your own custom missions)

All this talk about customization. I don't really want a spore MMO.

It's great being able to customize your own avatar, but that part about customizing your nemesis just sounds stupid. I want to experience the game. I don't want to build the game.

I'd make my nemesis crippled, deaf and blind. He'll only power will be the ability to feel pain and a special heightened sense of pain. He'll have tax problems and I'll sleep with all his ex-wives. He'll be stuck in a dead-end job with low pay :|

...yes, this would totally make me feel SUPER.

... again, this sounds exactly like what Jack kept promising for City of Heroes, but never delivered, and what Matt Miller is delivering NOW with City of Heroes. For those not up to date on Champions Online, it's being backed by Jack Emmert, largely credited for almost all of the bad design decisions in City of Heroes :: Enhancement Diversification, +fear on Fire Aura Burn, original Hollows, Positron Task Force, original Faultline, and the I9 Hamidon Rework just to name a few of bungles. Why anybody, anywhere, has any hope for Champions Online is beyond me. Seriously, if you want a superhero themed MMO, pick up City Of Heroes. Jack had a good idea once, but as he kept proving year after year, he's not the one to deliver it. ****

Also : consider this. Jack's the only significant contributer to City of Heroes that is not at NC-NorCal. The team behind Champions Online was the team behind Marvel Universe Online, a project in association with Marvel and Microsoft, and canned reportedly by Microsoft for quality issues. Seriously, when Microsoft cans something for quality, you KNOW something is wrong. Why is ANYBODY giving Cryptic any credit these days? They have no credit, they have no reputation. Everybody who earned a reputation is NO LONGER WITH THE COMPANY.

@Saist: I'm not sure what I'm more upset about: that you're ranting about Cryptic having no reputation and that Champion's Online will fail despite the beta pointing to every indication otherwise, or that I understood the shit you where talking about. Seriously, try the beta.
