Man, there are a lot of gratuitous amputations in that Samurai Zombie trailer. Why would they show all the good stuff in the trailers, though? We can already tell from it that like two of the main characters die horribly/lose a few appendages.
I'm going back to Milwaukee for New Year's (twelve years in NYC) and I for one am looking forward to Kopp's burgers, pizza at Zaffiro's, 4am breakfast at George Webb, and copious amounts of booze at Vitucci's and the Landmark...don't hate on a city you've never been to Malto. Granted I'd never want to move back but it is nice to visit.
@pastoralia: Aw lighten up, will ya? T'was a joke. I've nothing against Milwaukee, and actually have been there, though only briefly. Though I must say I am deeply concerned about their brewing industry if Milwaukee's Best is an accurate moniker.
I hate pictures like the Spirit cover. My brain is all, "Oh hey, hot chicks!" And then, "Oh ick, blood!" And then "Oh hey, hot chicks!" It continues until my hemispheres completely disassociate.
I miss Norway. The average women looks like that there. They all seem to be smart, friendly and athletic. It's sort of like the eastern europe except the economy is better, people are better educated and there is more sexual equality so the women aren't lining up to take their clothes off on the internet.
...um, I should point out that Splice is directed and written (with others) by Vincenzo Natali - nothing to do with Del Toro - he's just an executive producer (along with 4 others)...
@RAHfanboy: I'd had a long day, my eyes were glazing over, that's how we write it where I come from, it's a new word you've never heard of before, that's not even what I wrote, it's all about the irony, etc., etc., etc.
I don't have anything against Pearlman, but the only reason I saw Bubba HoTep was for Bruce, and I doubt I'll see Nosferatu without him in it. Bubba Ho Tep just seemed mediocre to me, saved only by a great Bruce performance. I wonder if Bruce stepped aside to make his own movie "My Name is Bruce," or perhaps the story of him not appearing in Nosferatu is only a rumor. Either way, I'm not into B-movies as much as I used to be, and I'll probably skip Nosferatu completely either way. So the point of my post? I'm procrastinating from writing a paper due next week.
I say make the best of it: cast a different Elvis in every film dliberately.
First, Bruce Campbell as the old, dying elvis in Bubba Ho-Tep,
Then, Ron Perlman as the just-past-his-prime kickass Elvis in Bubba Nosferatu, and then, Thomas Haden Church as a young Elvis, revived from the dead for a future film about Elvis vs space aliens.

I pray every day to real angels with rage and flaming swords to preserve me from this.

Also, damn, that wasn't filmed in Milwaukee at all, no rail cars, etc etc.

not sure where this came from...I don't think that shot is final yet...it's really a very cute moment :)

Maybe somebody should actually, you know, talk to him about it?

There's time between TV seasons (esp. of cable shows) to knock out a B-movie or three. Or if the TV show gets canceled.
I like Perlman, but I don't see him as Elvis.

It 's been renewed.
Maybe Ron's stock has risen JUST enough that his B movie days are over?

But the rest of my statement stands.

Hi. How are you? Just here to point out a little typo you must have missed.
Throughout the article you refer to an Elvis impersonator.
I know, I know, it must be embarrassing to realize you mistakelyn wrote that.
Twice.
But no harm, no foul. I once read a review that made the same mistake, and also accidentally referred to someone who thought he was JFK.
Also, you forgot to mention that it is a documentary.
Thank you,

But Giamatti + Perlman seems like a good match, I'm willing to give it a second shot (how big of me)

I didn't get the movie either and it sounded like the most brilliant idea ever to me. Maybe I'll try watching it again...
