Producer JR Young talked about the sequel to the vamps-in-Alaska adaptation, which takes the widowed Stella Olemaun to Los Angeles to try to expose vampires to the world:

I think the second film definitely stays within the world of the first film and it stays true to the second graphic novel in the series for those fans out there. The story is within that world but there are differences and a lot of that is due to the graphic novel. The first film is very much a survival film and this next one is all about revenge. There's an action component. The last one is a western, this one is more of a war movie. It's taking the battle to the vampires.

Fringe

We've mentioned that Fringe is filling some of its second season gap with an unaired episode from season one. That episode, "Unearthed," features a girl who, after being pronounced dead, is taken off life support only to wake up and star screaming alphanumeric code. Chuck

Michael Ausiello has seen the first three episodes of the season and says they're phenomenal — and there's nary a Subway sandwich to be seen. The first episode picks up six or ten months after last season's finale, and we'll see a recurring character die. We'll also find out that a recurring character is secretly a fan of Wilson Phillips. And we'll get a look at Morgan's huge collection of something. We'll be seeing lots of Awesome in the third episode — and his bare chest will apparently guest star. [EW]

The Phantom

Character breakdowns for the miniseries reveal a great deal about the plot. Chris Moore, the biological son of the Phantom, takes up his father's mantle after his adoptive parents are killed by the Singh Brotherhood and his girlfriend Renny's life is put in danger. Guran has an unbreakable mystical connecton with Chris, and serves as his most trusted ally. When Able Vandermaark, Chris' conservative mentor and keeper of the ways of the Phantom, forbids Chris from returning home to protect Renny and her father, it is Guran who ensures Chris gets his wish. Meanwhile, as Chris chafes under Vandermaark, Chris begins to question his mentor's true intentions.

Paramedic Renny was Chris' elementary school crush, and is later reunited with him at the scene of an accident involving Chris' friend Jordy. Their flirtatious quickly turns to a passionate relationship, but then Chris suddenly disappears at the same time Renny's father is wounded in a shooting. Renny's father is treated for his injury in Bengalia, and that is where Renny learns Chris' identity as the Phantom.

Raatib Singh is of course the leader of the Singh Brotherhood, and he attempts to keep wars and social and economic upheaval churning so that the Brotherhood can reap a profit. He is obsessed with the implementation of a technology called "Flicker" and has plans to assassinate Jalil Ben David, a politician who could bring stability to the Middle East. But he doesn't regard the Phantom as a real threat, and that leads to his assassination plans being foiled. The Brotherhood's latest asset is Dr. Bella Lithia, who developed the Flicker technology. Flicker can turn ordinary citizens into deadly assassins, but it has its limits. But when Singh refuses to heed Lithia's warnings and tries to control the technology himself, Lithia tries to outsmart him. [PhantomSite]

The clippings talk about Tony Stark "coming out" as Iron Man, but they each have a different word highlighted: Secret, Stark, and Confession. Is Tony going to confess something else besides being Iron Man in the next film? [MTV]

John Carter Of Mars:

Mark Strong plays the villain, Matai Shang, and he's not doing any motion-capture — although his character is a shape-shifter, so he's had to be photographed by a 360 degree camera, so he can shift into things. He mostly turns into other people, says Strong. [ComingSoon]

And an early review from someone who's seen the film says its plot is almost non-existent, but it's like the biggest first-person shooter ever. And:

What we have is: Boy meets alien through marines, boy loses aliens and marines, boy fights marines and gets girl. And I was also told that despite all the trappings of special effects, blue people and CGI skies, Sigourney Weaver still manages to register strongly with warmth and a commanding presence.

Lost:

So, trying to piece together all the clues in E! Online's latest spoiler column... Charlotte (Rebecca Mader) is back from the dead, but the timeline in which she's suddenly alive is not the same one in which Flight 815 landed safely in L.A. — it's the other timeline, which we'll be visiting concurrently. Charlotte will be revealed to be alive in the same time period where we saw her die. And the explanation of Charlotte's survival will blow your mind (and presumably has nothing to do with Juliet's hydrogen bomb.) Also, Jack and Rose will be reunited, and it will feel so good. [E! So if you've been paying attention, you'll have heard there's a "Temple" set being built for the sixth season, and we've only glimpsed its exterior so far. But now, some fans seem to have stumbled on the full Temple set, and it includes the expected Egyptian imagery (Anubis) , but also the Hindu Trimurti. Given that there was a little campfire with a cauldron out front, with some rotting potatoes and an old blanket, the eyewitness suspects these scenes take place on the Island in ancient times — and the Island may be a paradise for many different religions. Better Off Ted:

Someone sends out a memo with a typo, saying "Employees must now use offensive language," so everybody starts swearing up a blue streak to comply with it. "They think it's good for morale," says Jay Harrington. [E! Online]

Thor

Idris Elba, whom fans of The Wire know as Stringer Bell, has been cast as Heimdell, the Asgardian who stands guard at BiFrost Bridge, always ready to defend Asgard from intruders. [/Film]

Iron Man 3

We haven't even seen Iron Man 2, but there are already rumors for the third movie. Faran Tahir, who played Raza in the first movie, was asked about the third film and mentioned that Favreau and the producers want to introduce the Mandarin as a villain at some point. Since both Raza and the Mandarin are leaders of the Ten Rings, that affects whether Tahir will return to the franchise. [Moviefone]

Star Trek 2

Karl Urban would like to see his character, Bones McCoy, become more the third part of the Kirk-Spock-Bones triumvirate. He also wants Bones to be a bit preachier:

"I would love to play scenes being essentially Kirk's moral compass or point of conscience. The way McCoy was written he really sort of verbalized the war going on in Kirk's conscience, and I certainly would love to see more arguments of passion versus logic with Spock because they're always fun. So it's going to be really interesting to see what they come up with."

Ethan Hawke and Willem Dafoe prepare to take on the vampires (and the vampire virus) in two new stills.

Legion

Shock Till You Drop saw 20 minutes of the angel apocalypse, and they're still a bit on the fence about the film. In one clip, the archangel Michael crashes to Earth, slices off his wings, breaks the halo (as known as the heavenly LoJack system) from his neck. Then he heads off to a gun shop to load up on weapons and ammo. When a pair of cops try to stop him, we get to see the unpleasant effects of angelic possession: the possessed cop goes all twitchy, his eyeballs turn black, and his teeth sharpen. Another clip comes straight out of the trailer, with Gladys, the old lady who quickly transforms from sweet to demonic when she tells Charlie that her "fucking baby is gonna burn," and then starts scuttling across the ceiling. In another scene, the protagonists drive into a storm of flies (the first plague of Egypt), and a group of diner patrons head to the roof to take out a group of possessed folks, including the frosty treats man. Doctor Who

It's official: the title of the first hour of the Christmas special is The End of Time Part One. No surprise there. [Den of Geek]

Lost

Season six officially has a premiere day: February 2 at 9pm. Lost now airs on Tuesdays. Adjust your DVRs accordingly. Also, Richard Alpert, Miles, Frank Lapidus, and Ilana are now series regulars, and Claire is back full-time. Desmond, however, is not a regulat this season. [E!]

Carlton Cuse confirmed via Twitter that Rebecca Mader who plays Faraday's deceased love Charlotte, has been filming, though he offered no indication of what context we'll be seeing Charlotte in. [Cinema Blend]

However, a source at Dark UFO claims to have the scoop on Charlotte's reappearance. Sawyer is trying to run his usual con on Charlotte, knowing that she has been to the island. However, Charlotte catches on to Sawyer's act and calls him out on it. Sawyer tells her everything: that she knows she was raised on the island and that everything connects back to Charles Widmore. He says he wants "on the boat," but Sawyer isn't acting alone; a man he talks to on the phone gives him instructions and seems to be in charge. Throughout their conversation, Charlotte keeps looking toward an Asian man, something Sawyer notices. Apparently, there is a fight scene in a different location involving Sawyer and the Asian man. Michael Emerson described the final season as "very dark and bloody," and said of the episodes:

"I thought I would be able to see the ending that was coming, but I can't," he says of the series finale. "It's still so opaque."

As for Ben himself, Emerson said we will see Ben at his manipulative best, and that he will surprise the audience. [Starbulletin]

At yet another Lost shoot, fans spotted Sawyer and Charles Widmore filming a scene at the USS Bowfin Submarine Museum in Pearl Harbor. Is someone planning an underwater voyage, or is Widmore the one pulling Sawyer's strings? [Hawaii Blog]

Star Trek:

By all accounts, there's still no script for the sequel, so any predictions anyone might make are purely based on what they had for lunch. But after saying J.J. Abrams told him he'll be in the sequel a week or so ago, Bruce Greenwood is now saying he may not be there after all.

I'm not sure if we'll see Pike or not. He was mainly there to bring Kirk aboard the Enterprise and it's hard to say if he'll be popping up in the sequel.

You're not trying to rely on previous knowledge or love of it, so you almost want to strip all the names away and just come up with the emotional forces and the scientific forces that are going to come into play, and then start letting the details kind of bleed in.

The planet's skies rain rocks instead of water. Chuck's alien friend Lem is an astronomy nut, who's convinced the universe is only 500 miles wide and his planet is the biggest one. Also helping Chuck are a comic book geek, Skiff, and Lem's love interest Neera. The aliens sent to track down Chuck are led by General Grawl (Gary Oldman! What will Gary Oldman not do?). Lost:

Ian Somerhalder says the script for the season opener is so detailed, it weighed three pounds. And he had to wear the same clothes he wore in the original pilot. He'll be back for a couple more episodes after the first one. [ABC News]

Now that Scott Rosenbaum is taking over as showrunner for the 2010 episodes, he says the series will become more fast-paced and we'll get more answers about the mythology of the Visitors faster. He adds:

Listen, my goal is that in every single episode there will be an "Oh my God, I can't believe that happened" moment, or a "Wow" moment – at least one – in every single episode. And I think that would not only be a mythology plot reveal, but also a character reveal. I want the characters to be able to make mistakes, to make the wrong choices sometimes, and that's where you get the most amount of drama. I would prefer that the stories come from them making mistakes, and the snowball effect of those mistakes, or, rather than mistakes, choices made for the right reason, but then there are consequences of that. I don't want people to watch this show and ever be able to guess what's going to happen next, because that's the problem with some of the TV I watch.

Russell T. Davies hinted that the Ood and their preternatural understanding that the Tenth Doctor's journey is coming to an end are very important. And he says that "You'd think something is bleeding, coming through from the other side." Some have suggested this indicates some sort of parallel universe. [Planet Gallifrey]

Den of Geek rounds up all of the spoilers they have for the Christmas special "The End of Time." They mention that we we'll meet a new kind of Ood (actually the one from the end of "The Waters of Mars"), and have summed up the cast of characters we'll be seeing: Wilf, Donna, Donna's mother Sylvia, the Master, the Master's wife, Joan Redfern, Rose, Luke Smith, Captain Jack, and Sarah Jane Smith. Damon Lindelof talked to E! about what it's like to finish up the series and pull together so many of the show's mysteries:

"It's very exciting to us basically. It feels like we've been Christmas shopping for five years, and we've been accruing all these presents, and we've been locking them up in closets and not letting people look at them. And now there's sort of this, 'Oh my god, do they have one of these already? Did I get the right sizes? What was I thinking when I bought this? Are they even going to like it?' So there's a terror there, but at the same time, Christmas is here and it's time to open up the closet and start unwrapping and we'll see what happens."

Daybreakers will be out January 8th.

Earlier this summer, we showed you the fantastic trailer for Daybreakers, set in a future where most humans have become vampires. With the world's blood supply dwindling, most living humans have been corralled into massive blood farms, while the few who have managed to evade capture try to find a cure for vampirism, aided by Willem Dafoe and an undead Ethan Hawke.

Daybreakers is set to come out January 8, 2010. In the meantime, you can check out the eerie poster and a few stills from the movie:

A set reporter snagged some pictures of the base camp for a scene from the new season's fourth episode. The pictures themselves aren't terribly spoilerish, but the reporter saw a scene between Locke (or someone currently wearing Locke's body) and Sawyer. Locke was wearing green cargo pants and a once-white (now green) shirt and Sawyer was in black jeans and a blue button down shirt.

The twelfth episode will introduce the recurring character Timothy, a charismatic everyman and natural leader. Other people look to him for empathetic counsel. The episode will also feature Marcus, an insect-loving man in his 20s with a perpetually sunny disposition, and Roz, a schizophrenic, emotionally distant woman in her 50s, who alternates between lucidity and breaks with reality. Doctor Who:

Where to start? Today's set reports are almost too much to contain in one summary! First of all, it seems as though the "bachelorette party" thing was wrong — Amy Pond really is a policewoman, unfeasibly short skirt and all. There are some photos of her with her hair in a severe updo. And fans witnessed a scene where Amy tries to drag the Doctor to a black rover (not a police car.) The Doctor says there are just 20 minutes until the end of the world, and don't you know who I am? He also makes a comment about how you people are always trying to lock him up. In another take of the same scene, the Doctor stops and looks at something, and Amy shouts "Nooo!" and grabs him by the tie and drags him physically to the car. (And there's quite a striking pic of the tie-grabbing below.)

According to a call sheet, there's a man named Barney in the coma ward, and Dr. Ramsden bends over him and asks if he can hear her. Also, the guy in the hospital scrubs (played by Arthur Darvill) is named Rory, and according to the call sheet, the Doctor notices that Rory is taking pictures of the dog man. (And the dog is wearing a towel as a cape in one shot, oddly enough.) Also the dog gets a turn in front of the green screen (video by Mugimoe):

There is a phone booth (a red one, not the TARDIS) which explodes. And we get to see the Leadworth fire brigade swing into action. And there are little weird touches of Leadworth everywhere, including postcards and fake street names. The Beeb has really gone to town this time around — I'm wondering if Leadworth is a fictional town for a reason?

Amy runs through the front gate of a grand house, but the Doctor jumps over a flowerbed. Then later, he jumps out into that same flowerbed and runs away.

And then — and here's the really demented bit — the Doctor gives a speech about how he'll defend the human race once again, while Rory and Amy stare at something in the sky. The Doctor raises his sonic screwdriver up in the air, to do something heroic and dramatic — and then the sonic screwdriver explodes in a ton of sparks! The Doctor looks at the burnt-out screwdriver, looking distinctly perturbed.

Lost:

Daybreakers:

Ethan Hawke plays Edward, a "human sympathizer" who was turned into a vampire agianst his will by his his younger brother Frankie (Michael Dorman.) Now Edward hunts for a synthetic blood substitute, a "Tru Blood" if you will. Frankie, meanwhile, is a soldier in the vampire army, happily hunting down the remaining humans. And then Edward encounters a group of human survivors led by Claudia Karvan, and this sparks him to search for a rumored cure for vampirism — one which Edward's boss (Sam Neil) wants no part of, because it might reduce the demand for blood, and that's bad for business. As the vampires have become more powerful, they've built covered sidewalks and customized their vehicles for daytime commutes. There are also mutant vampires, Subsiders, who live in the subways and wear latex outfits. One Subsider attacks Edward in his home, and we see he was still wearing his wedding ring when he transformed. [Horror Squad]

Supernatural:

Episode eight of the season will show us what it would be like if Sam and Dean were trapped inside an episode of Grey's Anatomy. (This is the same episode that plays like a sitcom, complete with laugh track. I can't believe I'm saying this, but I think this show may actually be getting too metatextual. But I'm sure it'll rule in practice.) [EW]

Fringe:

The shape-shifting Charlie impersonator gets a bit desperate this week, because his new body is breaking down, and the Fringe gang is closing in. And of course, Olivia starts remembering more of her William Bell encounter. And finally, Olivia-Peter shippers will be thrilled by a scene where they discuss classic scifi movies, and in particular Invasion Of The Body Snatchers. [EW]

When we get more of the William Bell-Olivia meeting, Bell gives Olivia the name of the enemy, as well as very specific marching orders. [TV Guide]

Chuck:

Bryce Larkin may or may not be returning from the dead, but we'll probably see more of him in flashback sequences, says actor Matt Bonner. [ChuckTV]

"Stone Cold" Steve Austin guest stars in episode 3x05, "Chuck vs. First Class," playing Hugo Panzer, a master of close-quarters combat. And that's the episode that features Kristin Kreuk as a woman Chuck meets on an airplane to Paris, who winds up working at the Buy More. [ChuckTV]

In episode 8, "Chuck Vs. The Nose," Chuck has to impersonate Frankie, a sharpshooting chameleon and the worst kind of assassin. Chuck has some trouble convincing the Goodfellas-esque Matt and Scotty, two thugs, but finally wins them over. [ChuckTV]

Heroes:

NBC is really pushing this coming Monday's episode as the honest-to-gosh turning point for the series — they've sent out screeners, and want to make sure you see these clips, including Sylar's comeback and the famous Lesbian Kiss:

Also in Monday's episode, Peter falls for his deaf coworker, partly thanks to her amazing synesthesia powers. And the two of them even play a piano duet together, with the swooshy lights and stuff. But Peter must put his love on hold when an old friend (HRG, I'm guessing) shows up in need of his nursing skillz. [EW]

In Monday's episode, Claire thinks Gretchen is stalking her, but really there's a third party — another girl, who also has her eye on Claire — who is stirring things up. And even though they kiss, Claire doesn't really like Gretchen that way. [E! Online]

As you've probably gathered from the clips, a police detective questions an amnesiac Sylar, who has no clue why he has bullet holes in his shirt, or who he is. [TV Guide]

So now that Sylar has amnesia, what do we do with him? How about letting the Circus ringmaster, aka Fake Keith Richards, baptise him, in episode six, "Tabula Rasa"? Star Wars: The Clone Wars:

Here's what happens in Friday's new episode:

After outwitting his Jedi foes and escaping with the Holocron, bounty hunter Cad Bane sets into motion the next stage of his nefarious assignment: to find Force-sensitive younglings and take them to Mustafar for Sith training. But Bane is merely the instrument of evil, a deadly distraction to occupy the Jedi while the true source continues to plot from the shadows. While he has been glimpsed in previous episodes – and in his seemingly benevolent double-role as Supreme Chancellor of the Republic – Darth Sidious emerges in "Children of the Force" as a direct threat to the galaxy's future.

Smallville:

In tomorrow night's episode, when Clark gets the power of (bwaaaa haa ha!) thought-hearing, he hears all of the schmoopy things Lois has been thinking about him. And Clark reads Lois' mind and realizes she has a love of giant cars — and she's been dying to go to the Monster Truck Rally. So he takes her there, on their first official date. And fans will find her date-night ensemble "really funny," promises Erica Durance. But a threat to Oliver Queen's life will force Clark to put their date on hold. [TV Guide Magazine via SpoilerTV]

FlashForward:

Dominic Monaghan will finally turn up — briefly — in next week's episode. [EW]

We're going to go ahead and call it: Daybreakers looks fantastic. Pay no heed to Dafoe's cheese-ball lines and look at the intricate futuristic world-building here. There are blood stations, blood banks, and oh my yes — that's Dr. Grant as a vampire. It's been so long since we've had a solid vampire epic, and we dearly want this to be Fifth Element good, which is the feel I'm getting from it.
