@Dresan: lol sounds almost like a infinite paradox to me, bruce being trained as a ninja but dresses and acts like a pirate, the thing ninjas have conflict with most, i can see him flipping out out trying to grasp the concept of it all till his head explodes or something. imagine the internal conflict bruce will be going through.
From the Bats in Mesoamerican Mythology section of the Wikipedia article on bats -- "A gigantic, life-size ceramic bat-man has been discovered and dug up from the Templo Mayor. The Templo Mayor is located in the center of the Mexica capital of Tenochtitlan. Known as a god of death, this statue has the clawed feet and hands of a bat, but the body of a man." He should overshoot the current timeline straight into the future. Kamandi can be his new Robin.
The Joker can be a Hyena.
The Penguin can be a penguin.
I think I liked this idea better when it was called "Captain America: Reborn" and Ed Brubaker was doing it for Marvel Comics. Granted, the Big Two rip each other off all the time, but this seems a little on the nose and soon. I actually can't believe I'm the first to make the comparison.
Before the flame-wars begin, I do realize that there are big differences in the storylines, but seriously, this seems like it maybe should have been held off on a bit longer.
@schrodingers-katana: It was a bad move in the first place, not that I can fault DC for trying to shake things up by taking away the World's Finest for a while, but it was horribly timed.
Bruce disappears while TDK is demolishing the box office and was absent for his 70th anniversary, but his return for DC's 75th anniversay as one of comics and pop culture's biggest icons isn't something they'd want to miss out on exploiting.
@schrodingers-katana: I had what I thought was a fairly well-thought out response to this point, but I decided that this is one of those discussions that no one wins and the whole internet loses.
And I can't contribute to that in all good conscience.
@Bongoes: All valid examples I would say. I'm not here to argue the merits of one company over another. I just wish they would focus more on doing their own things then trying to rip-off or one-up each other.
@Moff: You've got my support, not that I necessarily agree, but I am certainly a "Marvel Boy" at heart (even I thought that was awful). Moon Knight certainly has a compelling origin and set-up, he just needs that perfect writer to come along and make him into a star.
@schrodingers-katana: I really do think Moon Knight is kinda great. The story arc I envision, by the way, involves Phil Spector turning out to be his murderous father.
So, to put this in perspective, Captain America was dead (lost in time) longer than Batman was dead (lost in time). If my memory serves correctly, Superman was dead (recovering in the Fortress of Solitude) longer than Batman. And nobody can keep track of how long Jean Grey has been dead.

There's a stupid joke in there, I'm sure!

Lunar Attack Batman (with weird Laser Cannon)
Midnight Hunter Batman (with glowing green Bear Trap)
and
Deep Dive Batman (with bright yellow leggings)
As a Bats connoisseur, my 10 year old brain always had this question, "What the fuck!? When did this happen?"
I look forward to Kenner's full prophetic realization.

So I am intrigued...
Also I'm really happy to see Andy Kubert return, I liked his art throughout Morrison's last Batman run.
