Not to mention: A new Buffy season 8 TPB. Hey, it's a big news for me, I collect this serie only in paperback (cause I started this summer. I'm not very a punctual geek)
@Klebert L. Hall: Mortal Kombat was a good action flick. It wasn't great cinema by any means, but it accomplished what it set out to do: give us a Hong Kong-style martial arts movie with Hollywood special effects.
Unfortunately, that's the only example I can think of of a video game movie that didn't completely bite, so probably not.

I doubt the Duke Nukem movie's more likely than Halo. I've been hearing about a Duke movie almost as long as I've been hearing about Duke Nukem Forever.
@The Curse of Millhaven: As Hello Mister pointed up there, what better base of humor than Monkey Island (or Maniac Mansion, or the Day of the Tentacle)? I know tons of people who would go to watch any of those.

"The truth is, video game movies don't have to suck"
Do you have any evidence to support this assertion?
