@mat1cs was once-ssss a man...: People can separate the actress and the role. Even Kate-haters have nothing against Evangeline, she's doing what she can with what they write for her.
But Jorge would make a much better judge. The man loves his food, dude.
I worked for Dharma in the 70s. The pay sucked and they always acted like they were doing some top secret crap when all we ever did was hang around this little company town they built. My job was to look after a bunch of rabbits! Top secret, my ass.
I quit and went to for this place SD-6. Way better benefits and our boss Mr. Bristow was really nice.
@GiltProto: Hmm. It seems that you're right. I can't find any jumpsuits with the diagonal pockets outside of this and, ironically enough, ABC's website (where you can buy the same thing, as linked above). And ABC's are diagonal somewhere between this and the ones in the show.
Wahh! I love Locke, and he's the most interesting character so he needs to ressurect!!!
Wake up, Locke!
Yes, the writers of Lost are great at plot twists and creating questions, but do you really think they have all the answers? Or are they making up questions that they'll write answers for later? If so, they may write themselves into a sort of checkmate that is impossible to get out of plausibly...
@crossoverwriter: I think that we'll get answers to the Big Questions, but that some of the Little Questions will be left dangling. Whether any particular viewer defines his or her own questions in the same way that the writers do is the problem.
I'm probably way too late to the party for anyone to read this comment, but I'd like to point out that the show really is not about time travel other than Ben getting thrown through time. Desmond is not time traveling, he is simply living his life out of order in certain moments. Very similar to Billy Pilgrim in Slaughterhouse 5.
While time travel is certainly a big possibility with upcoming episodes, it is currently not exactly fully on the table. At least as far as individual control goes.
@exo: Well, Damon and Carlton have been doing a great deal of press to promote Season 5 and they are saying that time travel is a huge element of the show and always has been.
But I like your point about Desmond. The show went out of its way in The Constant to explain that his consciousness was traveling, rather than Desmond actually traveling.
@Jonathan Zeitler: @Evil Tortie's Mom: I don't know that I can believe she is actually Annie (due to the accent-Annie was at least ten when we saw her give the dolls to Young Ben). But I have a feeling that she may be somehow related to Annie and/or Widmore.
What Happened To The Island At The End Of Last Season?
A: It went *bloop*. Sort of like that mysterious sound the US Navy heard back in '97. My guess, it opened a wormhole and popped elsewhere in time and space but still on Earth.
Has FutureSun gone bad?
A: Not quite. But I have a feeling that she wants revenge in the Shakespearean sense. People, watch your necks.
Is Ben Working Against The Island?
A: No. Next.
What Happened To Locke?
A: He found out that he was being used by a force that had been posing as Jacob, or at least people speaking on the behalf of Jacob. (I am guessing there is more than one spiritual force on the Island.) He found a way to get off the Island so that he could bring everyone back to save the good guys and the Island, itself.
Why Does The Island Want Everyone Back? And What Does Back Mean, Anyway?
A: It's timey-wimey stuff. Honestly, don't have a clue.
What Are "The Rules"?
A: My guess is that both men know what is going to happen in certain points of the future. And the rule to that is, is that the future is fixed. If you know so or so is going to live until such a time, you can not kill that person before hand. For example, Ben knew Michael could not die before the Island was done with him. So, Tom was sent to fetch Michael to do an errand for the Island.
Widmore crossed that line when he killed Ben's daughter. I take it that his daughter was supposed to survive for a while longer.
Is Desmond The Only Character Unstuck In Time?
A: I am not sure. He might be the only character who is aware that he is unstuck in time.
What's Charlotte's Secret?
A: It's not the same as Victoria's. That's for sure. But, honestly, I have no idea. There haven't been enough clues given to make a guess.
Is Miles A Clue About Hurley?
A: Miles is walking clue to everyone. I have a feeling he's going to be an oracle of some sort.
What Is The DHARMA Initiative?
A: A covert operation whose name really means Dimensional Holes and Reverse Matter Awareness Initiative.
@TransFat: Allusions usually allude to someone's work.
Simply name dropping for the sake of name dropping is idiotic and pretentious.
Although I don't know what I'm saying. The writers of Lost are so stupid and high and fly-by-wet-pants-seat-cowboy writers that I'm amazed a psychic sumo wrestler named Socrates Q. Plato doesn't wash up one day.
@Pope John Peeps II: I'm not the most knowledgeable in philosophy here, but didn't John Locke (the philosopher) had a similar philosophy than Locke (the bald one)? And din't Jeremy Bentham (the philosopher) philosophy completly the opposite of Locke's (philosopher) one?
@collex: You'd probably really like J.Wood's recaps over at Powell's Books (ans soon to be on docazt's blog). He spends an inordinate amount of time researching all of the allusions and references in Lost.
I think it's pretty certain that the island traveled in time when Ben did the donkey wheel, the same amount as Ben did. He knew he was going to, as shown by his first question being "what's the date?"
It is 100% certain that Ben is working for himself, always!
My question is "Can Sawyer (and Jin, if he's still around) suddenly become COMPLETELY allergic to shirts all the time and have to go around not wearing them?"
@twDarkflame: We had hints of this before, most notably when we saw the map on the door in Lockdown. When you look at the correlations between 'incidents' and things crashing on the island, you could tell that the Island's Unique Properties were related to others finding/landing/crashing into the Island. At least that's when I put it together (and yes, I was a bit obsessed with the map.)
Ben 'moving the Island' certainly tied that one up neatly. Although it leaves questions as well!
@twDarkflame: We had significant hints of this in Season 2, especially if you really studied the map on the blast door in Lockdown. The 'incidents' definitely correlated to things crashing into the Island. That's when I figured out how the plane went down and how Danielle got to the Island. And that tracking station seeing the Island when the failsafe was triggered was icing on the cake.
Ben's 'moving the Island certainly adds to that idea and clarifies some things. Although it also begs additional questions.
Pursonaly, I'm quite happy with Dhama being exactly what it seems to be.
A community of scientists researching the island, and trying to prevent humanitys demise.
We already know (from the ARG) their methods arnt always nice, but I think their goals are exactly as stated.
"Did DHARMA create the Island altogether? Or did the Island create the DHARMA Initiative?"
I think the end of S4 told us that.
The source of the islands weirdness...the fact we are almost certain now the island is within or at one end of a wormhole...is the "vaste quanity" of exotic matter at the island core.
Seems that probably a astroid full of it hit the island, and thus created a lot of the strange propertys.
Everything else followed from that.
"What Are "The Rules"?"
I think it was just a gentalmans agreement style thing.

10. What sort of benefits does the smoke-monster job offer?
9. Aside from Faraday's last group of passengers, are there any unnamed 815ers who didn't bite it in the S4 finale?

Not really any complete evidence to back it up, but we do know Anne has a rather large roll to fill yet in the series, just seems to fit IMO.
