I refused to pay to see a PG13 Terminator.I am glad my money will never ever go to hollywood when they take a R Rated franchise and then a new film comes out and they make it PG13............as an adult i won't stoop down for hollywood.
i downloaded this to check it out briefly and saw it sucked.i watched around 30 minutes and then deleted the sucker.
if i see a r dvd and it has a ton more minutes than the pg13 then i will watch it.i do not ever have to pay for rentals as i am an office man for a vid store.then it is no loss for me but if the r dvd has like 1-5 minutes extra i may just never watch it.
McG really screwed us on this film.I hope that he is not making any more terminators.
go back to charlies angels fool !!!
You know there were supposed to be a lot of Hybrids in this film, in fact there are a bunch of scenes where multiple hybrids were filmed. There was a whole other dimension to this film that was cut out completely, which is why it looks like it was chopped to pieces - because it was. An entire subplot was reduced to about 20% of what it orignally was.
The movie sucked, McG shouldn't have blabbed so much about the film because in the end much of what he said turned out to be incredibly inaccurate. He is a big talker, but he should go back to directing music videos.
I hate this whole appealing to children thing hollywood is doing. It's been ruining movies for years. Why can't they just say "forget about the kids, let's make it right" I mean, shouldn't what kids see be up to their parents to monitor anyways? I'm going to start randomly punching 13 year olds in the face if I see one more adult themed movie get a PG-13 treatment.
@Invisible-Echidna: the problem is when producers see children they don't see a partially developed human being they see dollar signs. taking this into account we can reframe your opine in a light that makes it quite clear why they cannot forget: "forget about the dollar signs, let's make it right" and that's just not the kind of thing hollywood would say.

Seriously, all I wanted to see was a big mad future war movie. "A Bridge Too Far" or "Private Ryan" with killer robots. Basically, the future scenes from the first 2 films, but for 120 minutes..
Was that too much to ask?
For the first ten minutes it almost looked like they were going to do it...:(
@MrFlake: Dude, that is exactly what everyone including myself wanted, it was all we had ever asked for since T2. T3 should have been the future war we wanted to see, and that would be it, everything tidied up in a nice trilogy.
It wouldn't even have been a difficult story either, Cameron already made the story, all the filmmakers needed to do was to fill in the gaps and get some good CGI going.
...And now there is going to be a T5. Set in 2011. PRE-Judgment Day (WTF??!?). With a bunch of Harvesters and HKs.
If I wanted to see fucking Transformers I would go watch Transformers, but I have never seen either of those movies because I don't fukcing care about them.
LittleDragon below said it: John Conner was LOOKING FOR KYLE REESE thus Skynet wanted Kyle to get Conner. Skynet didn't know Kyle was this father. Every time I read the T4 bashing it is fucking idiots that don't pay attention to a movie and LISTEN to the plot. They are to busy talking in the movie or fuck, blogging the movie on their phones while it is going on. I read the big robot pot hole thing and laughed. Don't you think a big thing CAN be quiet? How do cats sneak up on mice? QUIET stealthy movements. Plus in that scene the humans were yelling at each other, they didn't pay attention to what was going on. Not saying T4 was perfect, but I laughed at the internet idiots that just don't pay attention to plot and dialogue in movies and yell PLOT HOLE to make this blog post look good. Sit down, turn off your phones, shut your mouths and watch the movie. You might catch more of what is going on.
@sandmanfvrreturns: No, Conner finds out that Kyle's name is on a list that Skynet already has that includes all resistance fighters. It's just a crap script and all you apologists can't change that.
@AngriestGeek: NO, he has been looking for him all this time, to finally SEE and TALK to his father. Don't you remember that all terminators record and send to skynet their audio/video? If Conner said Kyle Reese one time, JUST ONE TIME, and Skynet caught it, then Skynet would be after him due to Conner wants this guy and thus Skynet will use him to get to Connver. The only way to keep shit from Skynet is to not mention it, or not mention it around the Terminators. This has been shown since the first movie. Sheesh.
Plus you answered you OWN question. He was on a GENERIC list of ALL freedom fighters, not "Magical Skynet Plot Hole List". Skynet knew of Kyle as one of the many freedom fighers and when Conner wanted him, they zeroed in on him. Simple.
@sandmanfvrreturns: I have to admit - your Kyle Reese explanation actually makes sense..
They still should have explained that in the movie though - obviously too many people didn't catch that Skynet was only after Kyle Reese because they heard Connor talking about him. I'm a pretty smart guy, I catch things like this usually, but I think McG gave the impression that Skynet was after Kyle because it somehow knew he was John's father, especially because John says "Kill Kyle Reese, no John Connor, reset the future."
I say your theory makes sense, but I don't think the filmmakers even thought of that.
@stereobot: I think they did, but with Sarah Conner Chronicles and such going on, they thought many would see the way terminators worked and realize a few things. BUT, I agree with you it SHOULD have been explained in the movie. Even a quick like from Conner after he realized his dad, Reese, is on a generic list that "Oh shit, I talked about him in the field. One of the t-600's probably heard me" Boom, confusion avoided.
How much you wanna bet that the DVD ONLY has the Moon Bloodgood topless scene and the Marcus stabbing a guy in the shoulder with a screwdriver?
All those other many many missing pieces will never see the light of day.
Also - you guys are forgetting the biggest plot hole of all - how the hell does Skynet know Kyle Reese is so damn important? How does it know that he is John Connor's father? And when Marcus finds Kyle Reese, how does he know he is THE Kyle Reese?
@stereobot: Skynet didn't know that Kyle was John's father until after Marcus finds out, it just knows that John is looking for him. And Marcus did know that Kyle was THE Kyle. He just knew that Kyle was a friend to him in a really messed up situation.
@stereobot: technically if the skynet of terminator 4 is the skynet that took over at the end of terminator 3 it could know anything that the TX knew since it was the one that propogated skynet in that timeline.
Only if somewhere in the violence there's an explanation as to how Skynet knows about Kyle Reese, why it doesn't send an army of Terminators after him and John Connor in the factor and how exactly one does open heart surgery under the most primitive conditions in the open desert. Somehow, I'm doubting it.
@AngriestGeek: Let's face it, T4 is jam-packed with plot holes so big you could drive a semi truck carrying liquid nitrogen through them...
The Kyle Reese thing is the most annoying part. Why not just pop his head like a grape as soon as you capture him to make John Connor go bye-bye!? Since when did Skynet start plotting its actions like a comicbook villain? Dragging everything out just long enough for the hero to foil its plans... Efficient my ass!
@AngryEddy: Moon Bloodgood explained it. Unfortunately she was showing some nipple as she did it, and that's why you'll have to buy the DVD to find out
Sounds like a "Please buy it! It's all naked and bloody now!" money grab to me. But I'm cynical and whatnot. I'll netflix you, R-rated T4, but I shall not purchase you! Now begone from my sight! BEGONE!
@tetracycloide: I'm pretty sure Bale has also been in trouble for roughing up his mother and sister. I think being around him in general could be considered NSFW.
My only peeve with this movie was they gave Dr. Manthann's last line, "nothing ever ends" in the comic to Laurie in the movie. Having her say it didn't seem quite as powerful as when Dr. Manhattan says it to Viedt. But I would gladly pay 10 bucks again just to see those opening credits in a movie theatre again.
