"And Glau's part is "eccentric" and totally different from anything you've seen before. The writers worked extra hard to make her character "pop" because they knew what Glau was capable of, said Whedon."
Homechick could read the phonebook and it would be eerie.
I'm sorry but casting hottie Eliza Dushku initially, and now adding mega-hottie Summer Glau still won't get me to watch this. The concept just doesn't interest me.
About the only thing that Whedon can do that may get me to watch is 1)lesbians 2)space battles.
Infantile, I know. But somehow watching women being mind-wiped every week for the enjoyment of others just doesn't excite me. Sorry "Dollhouse" geeks.
I'm a little upset that we won't be seeing much of Amy Acker. But it's nice that they're going to delve into her character in those few "intense" episodes. Glad Joss is going back to his arc-yness, he's a great storyteller. Just hope FOX doesn't make him dumb it down.
@Defendant: yeah i don't understand that either. maybe now that it's been revealed that she's a doll, there isn't much she can do that won't be revealed in the three "intense" episodes she's in. Sadness though. Loves me some Acker.
@octalass: Oh man, same. Wesley Wyndam-Pryce is one of the best character arcs ever. Going from a total joke to a complete badass. I still get a little verklempt when I think of that last scene with Fred/Ilyria in the Angel finale.
And speaking of Amy Acker. WTF? I love her. Why does she have to have some other show? :(
If they really want to strike out on their own and blaze new trails then they should do a story where Echo and/or Ballard valiantly "saves" one of the dolls only to discover the doll never wanted to be saved in the first place.
I find it highly arrogant and not a little irritating that Ballard especially thinks that he knows what's best for everyone. I think it would do him good to be reminded that some if not all of these people volunteered to do this and his moral indignation does not supercede their right to make their own decisions.
@Kiamat: You're joking if you think this idea blazes any new trails. This storyline you're setting up has been intimated from the word go.
I'm going to assume those helping women that stay with husbands who beat them and slaves who didn't want to be freed piss you off as well. Is it in your publication refuting Stockholm Syndrome?

Someone get this girl on Law & Order or Masterpiece Theater before she plays another "eccentric" character. Geez-oh-pete.

EDIT: Everybody is not a doll, because it would be very easy for us to pull that trick over and over, and ultimately shoot ourselves in the foot...
Is it me, or did he just burn BSG really badly?

After Angel he kind of dropped off the radar, so it's nice to see him here.
Anyway,

With the death of her daughter(?) November would have the perfect reason--not yet ready to face a world without her child in it. *crosses fingers*

Those white pants? leggings? whatever in the badly photoshopped cast photo aren't doing her any favors. They make her look awkward and chubby-legged.

Fantastic! I've been re-watching Firefly, and--especially with the cancellation of T:SCC--I was hoping Summer Glau would make it to Dollhouse. v
