Another suggestion: Child's Play Charity. The recipients aren't strictly geeks, but the givers are, and it puts video games, toys and books in the hands of hospitalized children. At least one of my annual holiday donations always go to them.
@regis: Whatever, dude. Wikipedia is an amazing organization and it needs donations for technology, hosting, and organizing a giant community of cool contributors.
You should also mention the Clarion West Writer's Workshop, similar to the Clarion workshop mentioned in the entry, but taking place in Seattle, Washington. It, too, is a non-profit workshop for writers of science fiction and fantasy and this year every dollar donated to them is matched by Amazon.com up to $25K, so that makes your dollar go farther.

But just for the record, if anyone feels like knitting me a Star Wars sweater, I would wear it with pride.
