    I have to be honest. I think the superhero gone bad bit is past its prime. Too bad because I'm a Waid fan.

    Revelations was one of the worst of the Final Crisis tie-ins there was, though.
    Actually, the only good one I can think of is the one with the Flash rogues gallery.

    @DocSeuss: I thought it was probably the best tie-in. Revelations, Rogues, and Last Will and Testament were must reads for me....more so than the actual crisis, really.

    Oh, and I saw a poster at Midtown Comics promoting the final issue of Planetary due in October. All I can say is - THANK. YOU. LITTLE. BABY. JESUS.
    I've been waiting for that sucker for what feels like years (and what actually might be years...).

    Absolutely no comic book fan should pass up on Doom Patrol. Giffen and DeMatteis + a bunch of loser heroes = epic win
    And no mention for Chew #3? It's a pretty fantastic series so far.

    My Marvel pulls are down to Invincible Iron man, Mighty Avengers (soon to be dropped, I think) and Thunderbolts. Savage She-Hulk sounds fun though. But, speaking as a former loyal Marvel Zombie, I just don't care all that much what happens in the Marvel Universe these days.

    @Ed Grabianowski: For me , Dark Avengers, Spider Man, maybe the Punisher. I think the Dark Reign storyline is going to get tedious in the long run. The villians win is a great storyline but if it goes on for over a year ....zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

    @ChibaCityCowboy: It just seems like Marvel has been careening from one "epic cross-over" to another for like five years now. I guess you could say the same for DC, but DC just seems to have executed it better.

    Part of the problem is that the Marvel crossovers keep infiltrating every book they put out, so all the writers end up slaves to the grand design. No one ever gets to spend time fleshing out their own corner of the universe (Moon Knight was a nice exception for a little while). To borrow from Charlie Jane's post last week, Marvel has been all plot, no story for way too long now.

    How about "Invent a terrorist attack and instigate nationalistic fervor while blaming the evils of the world on your political opponents and cracking down on dissent." ala V for Vendetta?

    Another good one is Neal Stephenson's "Interface," a novel he co-wrote with his uncle under the combined pen name Stephen Bury. In it, an underdog presidential candidate suffers a stroke, and his handlers use his hospital stay as an opportunity to plug a chip into his brain that allows them to alter his thoughts. So if he's giving a speech and it's not going over, they hit a few buttons and alter his mood, and the speech changes. There's a lot more going on in it, but I have to say, without question and by far, THIS IS STEPHENSON'S BEST BOOK. It's a damn shame no one knows about it.

    Heroes hacked an election in the first season using Micah's ability to "talk" to the electronic voting machines.

    Lex Luthor claimed a clone did all the criminal activities he had become known for, wiping the slate clean and preventing any vetting while making him a sympathetic character, then ran on a platform of technological advancement and freedom from fossil fuels (incidentally, I think he might have a shot this year).

    @Charlie Jane Anders: he does'nt ;)

    he lets the other guy rig it, (using electronic voting machines..), then proves it's rigged... and gets the election recast fairly, (paper ballots) and wins it :)
