Raimi's Buckaroo Entertainment has signed on to produce Monster Zoo, an as-yet unpublished graphic novel by Earthworm Jim creator Doug TenNapel, as - as they say - a major motion picture.

The book, due at the end of next month from Berkeley's Image Comics, centers around a group of teenagers trying to stop the end of the world by dealing with a zooful of escaped, mutated animals and destroying an evil icon. The movie will be a live action adaptation, and creator TenNapel will be on board as an executive producer. [Variety]
