I'm interested in this one simple reason. It's a future where the vampires won. That's just so cool.
I remember in one of the Blade movies, they visited a Blood farm, and some vamp wannabe was talking about how they'd pretty much taken over behind the scenes and it wasn't long before they ran everything.
It was just such a cool idea, a world of vampires. And now a movie is coming out about that. Seriously cool. #daybreakers
This looks like it might be pretty awesome, but fuck! Somebody needs to inform the Hollywood suits that other movies can be successful besides vampire flicks.
I have high hopes for the Wolfman.
Additionally, I originally wrote "Woolman". Weresheep. Terrifying! #daybreakers
@RoboBagins: But the New Zealand Film Commission already did a weresheep movie. Now, Syfy has to wait two more years, then come up with an incredibly bad title before THEY can do one. #daybreakers
I wish someone would make a real vampire movie -- one with a dark, creepy atmosphere and that captures the slow, building sense of dread surrounding the concept of a being consuming the life from people.
Somewhere along the line, people got obsessed with a vampire's superhuman elements and lost track of what makes a great vampire story.
They also forgot that vampires are undead, blood-sucking creatures of the night. Honestly, what is a vampire but a glorified serial killer?
I think there's a market for a really good vampire story that deals with the people who come to realize that there is a monster in their midst who looks just like everyone else, but isn't.
Or not. I'm a really bad judge of things like this. #daybreakers
@Lamar Henderson: I've had similar thoughts for a long time- somehow, all the dreamy vampire folk has managed to make hordes of teenage girls swoon over, despite the fact they would be viewed every inch as much as a protein source as they would to, say, a shark. #daybreakers
@Strakus: i've been waiting for a movie/show that has those dreamy vampire folk rip loose in the way that they SHOULD. "Oh, you're so angsty and cute! why don't we cuddloooOOHHGOD!!!..." #daybreakers
Because magic romance zombies in goth makeup and three hundred year old assless chaps were so on point before the kids got into them? Did mean old Michael Bay touch you in the nostalgic private pee pee area with his Transformers movie too? Is nothing sacred if our silly childhood monsters can't be kept out of the hands of actual children? [putthatshitonthelist.blogspot.com]
I am sick of vampire movies/teevee shows but I am looking forward to this one. Sci-fi vampires pique my interest.
It is good to see an original vampire story that does not involve rednecks.
I saw the trailer for this movie. It reminds me of the British TV series Ultraviolet (not be confused with the truly awful Milla Jovovich movie) in which vampires are plotting to create a similar world. The trailer for this film looks like a look into that world.
@Bill-Lee: +1 for the ULTRAVIOLET love. One of my favorite series and well worth watching. The term "Vampire" is never used in the series. Instead, the government task force uses the euphemism "Code V". And they deploy high tech to fight Code V, like guns with CCD/LCD gunsights (you shoot at what _doesn't_ show up) and carbon tipped bullets (because it's the carbon in the wood that is fatal to Code V). Also, takes a very "grey area" approach involving moral ambiguities about just who the good guys and bad guys really are. (No more shall I say lest spoilers occur.)
@LittleDragon: I admire the British in their ability to do limited run series (really, what we think of as miniseries in the U.S.), maintain high quality, then call it quits and go off to do something else.
Another example: FAULTY TOWERS; the episode "Basil the Rat" is the only television series episode I've ever seen in which I laughed so hard I cried and had trouble breathing.
@hhaller: I'm confused..why was Blade: Trinity considered bad. Seriously..I thought it was fun, there was plenty of action etc..enjoyable entertainment.

You know why don't they(Syfy) have a web form you can fill out to send in ideas for their movies of the week?
If they're going to make all these campy movies, the least they could do is make our campy movies. #daybreakers

I'm tired of vampires that either:
Mope
Sparkle or
Pine for a lost love
I'm not tired of vampires that are:
Unrepentant
Vicious
or
F***ing monstrous
So... I'm tired of Twilight, but not tired of 30 Days of Night. #daybreakers

'bad' doesn't mean unenjoyable. it doesn't even mean unentertaining. it just means bad.
