My wife had an interesting observation when I mentioned this article to her:
"Just because they HUNT, doesn't mean they're not peaceful."
I agree with her 100%. I may believe in peaceful relations within my own species, but I don't care if the cow I'm about to eat is spiritually fulfilled, I think he tastes great with cheese.
A species can be peaceful, unique in their handling of inter-societal disagreements (sex), and STILL go out and kill anything that moves and devour it, and that does NOT make them "bloodthirsty".
