All kidding about the movie's "plot" aside, all you need to do to stop a super-fault from cracking the world in two is utilize a really big stapler. Construction of the Omega Stapler (or Stapler Prime, if you like) can be the focus of much of the film's more heady technobabble scenes.
i was on the set of the Van Sant film, Elephant some years back, and we had to evacuate the set/ middle school when the FX guys lit a bunch of rubber cement in the background of a long tracking shot. the fumes were toxic. the lesson: only do it outside or in a well ventilated area, have your cast and crew sign a liability waiver, and most important, make sure mom's not looking!
The Asylum made this god awful movie called The Day the Earth Stopped. I watch B movies like its my job, but I couldn't finish it. They almost got sued for it, too.
You know, I always thought that The Asylum was just a bunch of guys with a single camcorder making up their scripts as they went along. Who knew that they actually had a film crew? Somehow that lowers my already bottom-of-the-barrel opinion of their films.
@Starwatcher: The Road by Cormac McCarthy. Maybe it was a translation error because I got a translation, but they saw somebody who had several kids chained, and they were referred to as a weird word I had to look in a dictionary which said it which meant that.
@Starwatcher: @topdolla825:
no translation error:
"slaves in harness and piled with goods of war and after that the women, perhaps a dozen in number, some of them pregnant, and lastly a supplementary consort of catamites illclothed against the cold and fitted in dogcollars and yoked each to each. All passed on. They lay listening."
"A catamite is the younger, passive (anal recipient) partner in a pederastic relationship between a man and a boy, which was a popular arrangement in many areas of the ancient world."

@Dirk Anger: Ah, okay. Yeah, I know what a catamite is but somehow that escaped me. Well, I stand corrected. But I don't think it'll be a problem on screen--even if they depict the kids in chains the idea that they might be sex slaves will probably escape most people.
@phoghat: Well, I'm glad he was there to do the slapping, then. That one line is the the heart of the book. I'm with omgwtflolbbqbye at being somewhat flabbergasted that they would attempt to remove it.
@Hotscot: Given that its director is primarily a visual effects supervisor, and that its co-screenwriter (with said FX expert) is primarily an editor, and that its release date is set for late January alongside the Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson masterpiece "The Tooth Fairy," and that the trailer gives no evidence of interesting characters or a plot that was not cobbled together from lesser Garth Ennis comic books and Clive Barker novels and video games, I feel that I have exactly as much information as I need.
@Hotscot: Pardon my sarcasm, in that case. I didn't much like the trailer, though I thought some of the demons looked cool. I'll just go back and reread "Preacher," of which this looks pretty derivative (to me, at least). What did you think? #legion
@Perhaps Not: No problem. I agree with you on the Preacher look and it makes me wish they had made that instead. However I'm a sucker for biblical, hell on earth type stories. eg The Prophecy, Supernatural etc..
Incidentally when I moved from Scotland to the US I brought very few possessions with me. My "Planetary" and "Preacher" collection. #legion
@Hotscot: Well, you'll get your wish soon - Sam Mendes is definitely signed on to make a "Preacher" movie, though I'm not sure how it will work or if it will get finished. Lotta people after that property, though I think they probably should have made it an HBO maxiseries, as was originally planned.
I love the principle of "I am my own sequel." I'm borrowing that from him. Honestly speaking, no one is the same person they were 5 or 10 years ago and if they are, they're idiots. #michaelchabon

So I would of thought someone like Hillcoat would have recognized it as an untouchable moment that shouldn't be left out.
