@shauntacular: Tell me about it! Can you believe they took GI Joe, a children's cartoon where army guys dressed as cowboys, ninjas, football players and snow bunnies fight, but never kill, an army of snake-themed goons in chrome masks and eyepatches, and then turned it into a silly movie?!
@shauntacular: Did we not decide that "anal-rape" of the childhood was too harsh? Didn't anyone besides myself settle for "Sayid shot my childhood in the chest"?
@gods-n-clods: I dunno -- people can get over rape and have normal lives. If Sayid shoots your childhood in the chest, you are completely screwed up for good.
Russian Clown Shows involve a lot of extremely drunk clowns. The only funny ones that exist.
it's old-fashioned makeup, totally different, of course, than what we did in G.I. Joe
G.I. Joe uses only the newest, most hi-tech of makeup, utilizing the finest nanobots and depleted uranium flakes to ensure that the actor is completely drugged out and prone to babbling on and on about his goddamn makeup.
@crashedpc : ã‚´ã‚ブリ and 蟑螂 division: I always though the Russian clown shows used young women kidnapped and sold to the highest bidder so they could be killed in creative ways to entertain the wealthy people.
...no, wait - that's snuff films. Sorry, I get the two confused a lot. Costly mistake, let me tell you! LOLZ!
@Courteous_Gentleman: and heath ledger was just that guy from ten things i hate about you, which also featured levitt. explore the things he's done since that show (brick, the lookout, mysterious skin), then talk.
I think my point was more that he's comparing himself to GO and DDL when he hasnt really done much since his stint on a vaguely popular 90's(?) sitcom.
Not bad-mouthing the guy, that's just all I remember him from. I'll have to investigate this "Brick" of which you all speak.
@Courteous_Gentleman: You need to stop by imdb and check out Gordon's list there--he's done a tonne of stuff since 3rd Rock that many consider to be decent work.
He even realized that 3rd Rock was hurting him as an actor and that is why during the show's last season he wasn't in every episode. You can't blame an adult for work he did at 12, plus, how many child stars would realize-before they're even legally adults--the work they are doing is type casting them in a bad way?

The anti-military folks were the people bitching about the Star Wars anti-missile defense system. Now, North Korea starts rattling their sabres at Hawaii and the libruls start yelling, "TURN ON THE MISSILES!! TURN ON THE MISSILES!!!" If giant robots ever attacked anything, who would libruls want as our first defense? Jimmy Carter?
@closeencounter: Google up how well the Patriot system worked in Iraq I, and hop off your Star Wars fanboy box, okay? And that system faced a FAR simpler problem than what you're exciting your nether regions over.
Or, do deficits and gov't spending waste not matter?
Any movie where the US military has script control by definition isn't going to be a realistic portrayal of the armed forces. Anyone that thinks otherwise is horribly, tragically naive. (More broadly, any military with final script control, but in this case...)
The military operates in some capacity in over 100 countries but they aren't Jor-El. I'm sure the overall readiness of the Army wasn't hurt by loaning a couple Abrams and Bradley's for a film.
@Commander Shepard: Well, since no one wants to fly highjacked jets into their urban skyscrapers due to their nearsighted foreign policies, one could argue our Northern friends are doing something right...

Maybe you should watch Brick before you shove that foot of yours further down your mouth.

Yeah, they disappear because they're acting, not cause they get a mask thrown on their face.

If you don't like it, don't watch it. I for one am very proud of our military and love watching them help out making movies.
