    ...do female Visitors actually, you know, have "mammary glands" if they're not mammals? Or is it all part of the flesh-costume? In other words, its not real? #v

    I like how Morena was in Firefly, and was some kind of Sex Goddess with a body curvy beyond belief, full juicy lips, and long, wild hair that bounced everywhere.

    And everything since (with the exception of SG-1) she's done everything she can to look as bad as she possibly can. I appreciate necks as much as the next person, but that outfit isn't going to win any awards. Or fans. "Dude she's hot" no. No frat boy is going to say "Dude she's hot" to that woman. Not even drunk ones. #v

    i like how she is talking as if she was part of the creative process. like she owns her part in the show and is protecting it.

    unlike when other actors talk about the company and lawyers, and how those groups control what they can say.

    it's very respectful.

    @I_Like_TDs: I wasn't a fan of the new cut until I saw her in that profile shot. Now I think it's quite becoming and really accentuates her swan neck.

    I think it gives her a very nice predator look which is what I think they're going for with her character.

    @charliejane: Not to be a colossal pedant, but it really should be "as an emigrant from Brazil" or "as an immigrant to the US", not "as an immigrant from Brazil". :)

    No they aren't at all. There's only one black main character (and potentially the character's girlfriend) in the whole show. #v

    @jccalhoun: If you insist on counting - Since black people make up about 13% of the US, and there are only about 8 characters on V so far, isn't that exactly the number there should be?

    Actually, he's really one of the 4 main characters. So he should only be half black. #v

    @jccalhoun: That's always my complaint about shows set in NYC: there's way more diversity than ever presented. I'm sure that's true in other cities as well but just my own personal knowledge is that on any given day in NYC you will interact with many different ethnicities and races. That's not to say there's not neighborhoods where one is more predominate than another but for the most part it's way more diverse than you'd expect from TV especially if you go to a non-residential neighborhood.

    It always takes me out of the show a little to see that. *Shrug* But that's just me. #v

    @Sleepyhead: How about the dozens of white Visitors we've seen in the background? That was what really bothered me. Of course I will be vague for those who haven't seen the show but it is interesting that the one black character is different. #v

    @collex: The last season of SG1 and the first SG1 movie "The Ark of Truth" (I'm not exactly sure which this image is from). Her character wore a lot of necklaces like that which emphasized her long neck. #v

    Well, I don't know if the show was deliberately commenting on Obama, but it was pretty funny yesterday when a radio talk show interspliced sound bites from V with recent White House personnel sound bites.

    What's the deal with all the claims of "it's just a TV show" after years of how the "re-imagined" Battlestar Galactica was "critically acclaimed" as a "social commentary" on 9/11 and Iraq?

    V could be considered a cautionary tale on surface appearances being misleading or a sci-fi update on "Beware of Greeks bearing gifts". #v

    I think they have a point, although I disagree with them on what exactly it is.

    A charismatic leader from Parts Unknown shows up to offer long life, healing, and prosperity. Turns out he's a killer with crazy eyes and skin straight out of a Ferragamo look book, who wants to seduce your daughters and eat your vermin.

    The fact is that prior to the crazy Right-wing tantrum of the past 9 months, nobody in his/her right mind would even ask if the show was a commentary on a sitting U.S. president.

    So it's not really a case of the emperor having no clothes. It's just that the villagers are a bunch of crazy pervs who ordered a bunch of those comic-book X-Ray Specs and now like to scream and point at his Imperial Junk. #v
