I'm all for Cameron doing Forbidden Planet; he's one of the few directors that I can think of that understand spectacle the way it's needed for it. I'm sure he'd turn the Miranda character into a more proactive character, as that's apparently what turns him on - seriously ... how many of his films have been about women moving from passivity or rejection of action to self-reliance through the sacrifice of the male lead? It's what he does. ("It's *all he does*, and he *will not stop* until...")

But we do not cheer for the iceberg. We do not cheer for Morbius, or the Krell; we cheer for Robbie. Robbie could take the Terminator with one hand behind his back. He could destroy an entire alien hive, three-fourths of the Transformers, Robocop, and Gamera, without even breaking the robot equivalent of a sweat, because he's *just that cool*.
