Is Star Wars Just A Video Game Franchise Now?

A new Star Wars movie, Clone Wars, hits theaters in a month and a half — and all the online excitement still centers around the forthcoming video game The Force Unleashed. People cheer for every screenshot from Unleashed, where you get to play a "secret apprentice" to Darth Vader, wielding huge Force powers. Meanwhile, there's a collective shrug about Clone Wars, the animated movie/TV show set between the second and third live-action prequels. Is it just me, or has Star Wars become a video game franchise with TV/movie tie-ins? Do people just want to swing a Wii light saber and be Darth's protege? More »

Darth Vader's Secret Apprentice To Kill Superman

The smoldering hot secret sidekick to Darth Vader in Star Wars: The Force Unleashed is rumored to be cast as Superman's biggest threat in Smallville, Doomsday. Sam Witwer, Also known as ex-Raptor ECO Alex “Crashdown” Quartararo, from Battlestar Galactica will be taking on the role of the character who ended the man of steel in the comics (or at least the cheesy bartender version of him.) Watch Vader Meet The Secret Apprentice

Vader meets his Secret Apprentice and it's love at first sight, in the new documentary explaining the story behind Lucas Art's new video game Star Wars: The Force Unleashed. Also in the quickie video, the producers and writers give you a glimpse of CGI Princess Leia and look into the hull of the Rogue Shadow (the Secret Apprentice's ship). The game hits stores on September 16. In other Unleashed news, Lucas Arts is planning a full promotion of this video game, including a publishing program from Dark Horse, Del Rey and Palace Press.
