@Smeagol92055: I'm posting my review of it tomorrow... I really didn't like it, but I'm going to bend over backwards to avoid upsetting the people who did. And yes, the running gag is awesome.

@Dunny0, Team T/A: I have a bit more to say about the movie, actually. Like Pitt's performance, and the way it seemed to be an ode to deadbeat dads in general.

Wile the Greer story does sound good, I think The Time Traveler's Wife is a really clever and sensitive treatment of this subject. Niffenegger's use of random time jumps gives the book a rich and complex texture. That said, I'll probably skip a Time Traveler's Wife movie, since I think the book is unfilmable.

As an aside: Why is it always the men who are backward aging travellers, not their patient girlfriends/wives?

In the movie, Daisy never thinks Benjamin's a dirty old man, and she always recognizes him. What's more, she somehow manages to see through his appearance to his true age at every point in the story.

Tough to sell tickets to a movie without explosions or an idealized love story.
