It appears she will have to tell John the truth about who she is (where she comes from). I hope it happens this season, because it will be interesting to see how John reacts -- and Cameron, too. I predict John will still like Riley, thus, satisfying Jesse's plan anyway. (Remember that in the original timeline, as depicted in the movies, John Connor hooks up with Kate Brewster.) There's no point for Riley or Jesse to keep this secret from John anymore.

Jesse (who has shown her ability to deftly manipulate her boyfriend) coldly smacking Riley around seems like a poor strategic move from someone who presumably needs Riley to convincingly impersonate a normal teenage girl & not be a weeping, on the brink, emotional trainwreck, which makes me wonder if that was the plan all along. Needy!Riley's emotional hold over John just increased exponentially with the suicide attempt - he will feel responsible for her and there's no way he'll walk away from her now (which could not be said for their prior relationshp, when all that held John to her were the tenuous bonds of a teenage crush). I would not be surprised if homeless, suicidal Riley was brought into the Connor household.

its not alien of course, it's probably something from the future or a hallucination because of being shot.
