As someone who watched it, Gotham Knight is more Batman for anime fans than anime for Batman fans. And not only is LEGO Batman available for PC and (I believe) PSP, but the DS version is a completely different build. The Complete B:TAS box set includes the exact same DVDs as you get in the four original box sets, plus a 17th disc which has the new stuff on it, plus a book full of related artwork. For those who prefer to keep their DVDs on a shelf, the DVDs are all packed into two double-thick keep-cases, but _DO_NOT_DROP_THEM_. They've got an intricate pin system that allows them to put four flaps in each case, with two DVDs on each flap, and they aren't really designed to take a hard impact. My copy had two pins broken off before I even broke the seal, but fortunately the four-flap design only requires four of the eight flaps to have all their pins intact.
First of all, the brain mold is out of stock for over a month, so that's a bit untimely for a Christmas gift idea. And second, how come they don't have a mold for the other half so you can make the _whole_ brain?
Thank you for giving me more ideas to go with what I'm already planning for the boy for xmas!! I just have to figure out how to make brain shaped ambrosia salad...
@chaoticumbrella: I was going to suggest the same thing (it's the only reason I even clicked on this link), but maybe they figured these shop-fors would already have them. Maybe? Do they like their Victorian-era sci-fi with a side of humor that's so twisted it makes a celtic knot look straight as an arrow?
For anyone who loved MST3K and isn't rabidly following the gang's current projects, there's also:
* The brand new DVD collection of RiffTrax shorts (I'm getting this one for my cousin. It's totally worth it for the "Drugs are Like That" and "Skipper Learns a Lesson" shorts alone)
* Kevin Murphy's book "A Year at the Movies"
* Mike Nelson's book "Death Rat"
* The four Film Crew DVD's (basically a precursor to RiffTrax with openning, middle, and closing skits)
* and the four Cinematic Titanic DVD's. (the latest of which is a redux of 'Santa Claus Conquers the Martians')
Personally, I think the CT stuff has been rather hit or miss, but I do recommend 'The Wasp Woman' if you or your family enjoy the old school Joel episodes from the first and 2nd season. It's easily the funniest of the lot, and gives Trace and Joel a chance to dust off their hilarious "senile old man" voices.
The voice changer inside the Cyberman helmet sucks... or at least the one inside of mine does. On the plus side, it looks completely bitchin' sitting atop my bookshelf, glaring down soullessly at any and all visitors.
I have the sneaking suspicion the Dalek voice changer probably works a hell of a lot better than the Cyberman one, since it's essentially just a cheap version of the same ring-modulator they use on the show. It also explains why the remote control Daleks sound absolutely spot on, while all the other Doctor Who toys with sound chips are completely unintelligible.
@Annalee Newitz: I know it's hard to keep a lid on the focus of the site...but if you're going to include Urban Fantasy (which I have no problems with at all) then include it - or don't, it seems that unless there is something very prominent going on (Twilight), or a list needs to be filled up (comics etc), the site is still exclusively SF...
I don't read much urban fantasy, I see it in the stores etc and have been curious (not Twi-curious) so I wouldn't mind more posts on it, and I'd enjoy a site like io9 that was devoted to Fantasy...I'd just like to see a bit more consistency, this post is titled "Gift Ideas for the Ten Major Species of Science Fiction Fan" - twilight and harry potter are not SF (and maybe even Batman)...I don't know, it's either "this is a SF site" or "fuck it - it's all good"...but both don't seem to work.
@Hand_O_Death: It'd basically be a list of the DVD sets (each of which is pretty sweet), unless one is willing to dig super deep. Or, there's always the Amazing Colossal Episode Guide.

Just doing a simple search for "robot" ended up showing some rather awesome toys, art and jewelry!

What about Terminator fans? Between the movies and SCC, there should be lots available.
For instance, from SCC, I would love to have a life-sized Summer Glau. The actual Summer Glau would be even better.

Yeah, not really. Maybe if you changed "Batman" to "Comics" but, excluding everything else in comics hardly covers ever zone possible.

And for that matter, doesn't Twilight take place in a tiny little town?
How about io9 allows for Quaint Locales Fantasy as well as Urban Fantasy.
