@alphanumeric1971: That was sort of the point though. Barbara and Jim never expected anyone to attack them at home, point blank, while opening the door in plainclothes.
@alphanumeric1971: Let's be completely honest, Barbara had much more crime fighting training after she was paralyzed than she did when she was Batgirl.
@sumocat: let's see, she's the daughter of the police commissioner. Your telling me that even if she never became batgirl, nobody including her would have thought that they would have tried to get at Gordon through her?
I'm personally of the Stephanie-as-Batgirl bandwagon. She's owed a bigger role in the Family following that ridiculous "death" at the hands of Leslie Thompkins and being robbed of the Robin role.
I LOVE TERRY. I would be so happy to see him back. I may even start reading comics more regularly again, if he were in them :) I hope it's Cassandra Cain batgirl... I miss her :) I liked her when she was cute and quiet and deadly.
this whole mixup of who is under which mask isn't going to change much unless the writers can actually come up with decent stories.
also i still find dick playing batman to be a little off, since he's.. not batman. he doesn't have the motivation or the history, just the training. and surely someone's noticed nightwing disappeared?
@ninjajazza: He's got a whole nother set of motivation the death of his parents which is was lead to him being Robin in the first place and now the need to carry on for Bruce
Out of all of this, I'm most bummed by what has become of Tim Drake, who for years became more interesting to me than Dick Grayson. I think he needs a fun team-up with Bart Allen and Connor Kent (does he even know they're back? I've missed a lot).
I'm always willing to give Morrison another try, despite the last two events he helmed. His hit rate is always around .750 with me. Winnick, on the other hand, I have forever sworn off. I seriously want that man back at Marvel and away from some of my favorite DC characters.
I've enjoyed Rucka immensely in the past, but for some reason his Crime Bible stuff just never caught on with me. Sad to hear he's still using it in Detective now (and with Batwoman again! That characters whole existence/appearance seems to be tied up with Crime Bible thus far. Expand!).
@DocSeuss: True - it's more a problem with the art in general. It's a little like whatever you see on the screen is the responsibility of the director, one could argue. Either way, I should have been clearer.
@ Graeme: You LUUUVVVVV Batman: Brave and the Bold and you're criticizing Grant Morrison use of outlandish characters? Not that I'm directly comparing the two - Grant Morrison is a genius - Batman Brave and the Bold is one of the most retarded cartoons I've ever seen. One clearly has questionable taste if they prefer the hideous Cartoon Series over the wonderful BATMAN RIP and FINAL CRISIS.
However, given that Grant Morrison is the ONLY reason I've deigned to buy a Batman comic book in like FOREVER, Clearly, Grant Morrison's Batman is the best BATMAN HAS EVER BEEN.
@SnehalMarten: You might want to double-check the byline, although I can understand the confusion (it's because I write in a Scottish accent, isn't it?).
Either way, I've got no issue with Grant Morrison's outlandish characters. I love most everything he's done from Animal Man to Doom Patrol to the Invisibles, and I'm generally well disposed to Final Crisis and (especially) Batman: RIP. I'm just saying that this new book will appeal even to those left cold by his last two works.
A quick Google Images search reveals that the rest of the Gotham City Sirens pic shows considerable junk in the trunk on Harley. I... I'm going to go sit down for a moment.
As a girl who grew up watching Lynda Carter's TV Wonder Woman (I still have my doll!), I have to say I'm a lifetime fan. She was one of the few brunette characters who wasn't considered evil (why is it that blonde=good, brunette=slutty/evil? -- I'm looking at you Bewitched!)
Either way, I've been dying for this movie to be made NOW. The new animated series kicks ass, she always was one heck of lady in the comics, and dammit, I think we're ready for her to come to life on the big screen already.
Come on boys, let the girls have some fun for a change!
@Evil Tortie's Mom: R.O.A.C.H.: Any time. Is it so wrong that I want Dita Von Teese to play Wonder Woman? I can't be the only one who has these thoughts...
Ellen Page should be Wonder Woman. Create a Wonder Woman film that defies expectations.
Maybe the original Wonder Woman retires or something. And over in the Amazon, all the WW-type looking women have become arrogant and slow. Here comes Ellen Page and wins all the contests to become the next Amazonian emissary or whatever.
So now Ellen is WW and she comes to America and is all snarky and the public is like: WTF you're not Wonder Woman, bah bah bah. And Ellen is like [cool repudiation].
And I don't know where Act II goes from there. But I don't see any reason why all the fucking casting for WW are people who like Megan Fox. That my friends is really boring. BORING.

I was totally pissed off with the way they treated her character for an essentially useless shake-up of the Batman mythos.

She's contributed more to the DC universe for the past 20 years that way than as Batgirl.

If that's all it took to take her out, she should have died WAY earlier in her career.
