@Annalee: So you (and others) can salvage something worthwhile from this clearly less than appetizing experience, may I present to you, a picture of a TAHITIAN TARO BURGER [Sorry, I couldn't find one of Tahitian Pancakes :( ].
(Hereafter to be known, until the end of time, as the "WTF LOVEMUNCHER" TM.)
It's principal component is made from the Taro root, as are Tahitian Pancakes.
The best pancakes are made from a mix of Taro flour and wheat flour (many prefer a 60:40 ratio).
The texture is delightful and the flavour is slightly 'nutty' (a slice of Jarlsberg or Leerdammer cheese compliments it beautifully).
You should be able to purchase Taro flour in a natural food store or in SF's Chinatown, as it's used in dim-sum dumplings [or try Taro-chips, for Jarlsberg dips and fondue].
@SJ_Edwards: Sweet merciful Zeus! If I was told I'd be given one of those every time I watched Heroes, I would actually give the show another shot. #heroes
Ok , here's Dr Emilio Lizardo's thoughts on the latest "Heroes" (TM). And remember kids, Dr Emilio Lizardo doesn't just play a doc here on io9, he is a bitter, tortured, doctor hoping to make his life fortune before the insurance companies steal it away from him in real life too.
Overall, this was one of the better episodes of the last few years, (not saying much) but Annalee's criticisms are (mostly) right on the mark.
Somebody should kill Emma and Peter stat. They really get on my fucking nerves. That god damned tension pneumo? how the hell does some little girl end up on the floor of a store room? Couldn't you at least use a sthethescope and look at the girl's neck to see if the trachea is deviated before you come at her with a sharp needle? And could you please stick the needle in her lung instead of her liver to fix the problem? And, one last request, could you get out air from a pneumothorax instead of blood? Please?
Of course Sylar and Parkman aren't dead. Nobody ever dies on heroes. Nobody. Ever. Even when Nathan famously dies later this year, he will come back like a bad Marvel retcon.
The lesbian subplot has been wrapped up way too quick. Not because I'm into cute lesbians (although I am) but because it was a chance to develop Claire beyond the whole love/hate thing with HRG and the writers pissed it away.
Samuel needs a new Schtick. It was moderately interesting at first, but it's time to do something with it or admit ou got nuthin' (as usual) and wrap it up.
I liked the Sylar/Parkman thing. Parkman tried to get bad ass, then Sylar showed him he was in over his head, then Parkman showed him he can get wild too. I was OK with that.
Annalee's recaps remain better than the show. #heroes
It says something about a character's arc and development when the best, most heroic thing he can do is get himself shot by police, but that's Parkman for you.
Of course, according to the preview of next week's episode, Parkman can't even kill himself right. Not that I'm surprised: for a moment it seemed that someone would achieve some form of lasting victory over Sylar, and we just can't have that, apparently, not even a pyrrhic victory that destroys an imaginary incarnation of him.
And it seems like Samuel is starting to adopt the oratory skills of 90s-era Claremont Magneto...if you blather on about meaningless bullshit about 'us and them' and 'belonging' to enough folks, people will just start following you.
I'm going to try this and start going around to pancake houses and going on and on about how no one can understand pancakes like I can. My goal is to get free pancakes. If this works, I'll start trying it on women; I can't wait to start using the line 'No one understands you. Would you like to come live in my circus?' #heroes
@Bigdamnhero: If anything you'll probably get a good laugh and remember the good days from season 1. Which weren't that great now that I think about it. #heroes
@Bigdamnhero: I know how you feel. I have them sitting in my Netflix streaming queue and I keep watching other things instead because I'm hearing how lame this series keeps getting. #heroes
@Bigdamnhero: Personally, I think these "recaps" are terrible, because they're written by someone who's apparently made up their mind that the show sucks, regardless of what it does. You should watch it and form your own opinion. #heroes
Not that I really expect a Heroes plot-line to make sense, but the whole, "I'm just changing the past a little bit" thing with Charlie is totally lame.
Original time-line: Sylar kills Charlie, a murder which is witnessed by at least one other waitress. Ando is aware of the murder. Sheriff is called. Yadda-yadda-yadda.
New time-line: Charlie lives. Apparently tells Boss she's taking off with Hiro for a lil' Austin lovin'. Does other Charlie-like things that aren't part of the original time-line. No murder for Ando to be aware of.
IT'S A WHOLE NEW FREAKIN' TIME-LINE!!!
What happens when "Present Hiro" returns from the past and tells Ando he couldn't save Charlie? Does Ando say. "Save? What save? She just took off with your future self."
I have officially given up on Heroes. The traveling circus family is jumping the shark for me and how many times can we kill Sylar? How are any - ANY - of these characters 'heroes' if all they do is create problems for one another or fix said problems? If you took all the 'heroes' off the planet, life would actually be BETTER. The show should be called 'Problems' because that is what it is full of.
While I was watching it, the first season was SO good up until the finale, one of the most anti-climatic finales ever. I remember thinking that a couple of those episodes (I think the ones with B&W flashbacks) were some of the best episodes of any recent shows.
Then Season 2, taking a cue from Season 1's closer, sucked. I just couldn't get past the shit plots. This post pretty much summarizes why I stopped watching Heroes.
Charlie, if being stucked in Nethertime (??!!) means more time for Glee, please stay there.
@Cupajo: it had promise, but when the producers decided that HEROES need to become the mother of all comic-book long shot series , the story just went way out of control. time travel is a very sensitive thing to do in comics as it is, the potential for time travel overload can be full of failure, as HEROES has perfectly demonstrated. #heroes
@zåɳzißårléɠёпȡ: I thought the ending of season 1 was a complete let-down. Watched about 2 episodes of season 2 and saw what was happening. I've got an episode here or there each season since then and none of them have been worth watching at all.
Comic books have been my particular brand of geek for close to thirty years now. I've been waiting patiently for a great comic-book TV show. This is not it. #heroes
this whole cat and mouse game they play with the characters just reeks of old dbz episodes. they work all this buildup and then when he season reaches climax, it goes from excitement.. t complete anti-climax, followed by more confusion. some day there will be a great comic-book tv show, i hope other producers are watching it, and using HEROES as a cautionary tale on how run a series to the ground. #heroes
@Dirk Anger: he's not a recovering alcoholic. He's a recovering powers-use-aholic. He's going to AA, because there are no meetings for people who abuse their powers. #heroes
@dazoid: So, it's like in Dexter, then. I don't know anything about those meetings, I'm not even sure they exist in my country, but it stroke me as surrealistic that you can go to one of those and go on and on about "your addiction" without specifying what are you addicted to, and no one telling you that. Is that even possible? #heroes
@Dirk Anger: I think it is more about the support than any particular substance. Saying Parkman was addicted to using his powers is a bit of a stretch though. #heroes
@Dirk Anger: It's very much like Dexter.
In response to your points in your first post, his wife knows that he's not an alcoholic, and is trying to stop using his powers, which is the reason that he's going to the meetings. There would be no reason to keep alcohol out of the house, other than to appear to visitors that he was an alcoholic. #heroes
@psychiccheese: Yeah I wasn't sure, I thought he really was (hello, stereotype) but, well, it's just that different substances are used in different ways, and I wouldn't put, for instance, cocaine users together with heroin users, because it seems they might need, well, the opposite kind of support #heroes

Matt was supposed to be a recovering alcoholic, right?
1. He would not be capable of casual driking, so what the hell is he doing having a beer?
2. What the hell is he doing having a bottle of whisky at home? that's just stupid, no recovering alcoholic would have even a beer can at home #heroes
