I think I hate the annoying!gratuitous!Sprint product placement suddenly permeating Heroes even more than scrunchy!face Peter. If Claire shows up wearing a Sprint tee shirt, I am so changing the channel.
I don't know, I was expecting Sylar and Pete to start making out on the torture scene... you know, the place alone, on top of each other on a table, the nail gun... they kinda have a Mr and Mrs Smith vibe going on.
"Honestly, they can't pay somebody to come up with a few cool, interesting powers that we haven't seen before?"
Mur Lafferty, in "Playing for Keeps", came up with the idea of a mutant who can produce vast amounts of shit on demand and hose them out through his hands.
Something tells me, though, that this wouldn't look very appealing on a TV show.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure those are the guys who write for Heros.
@Annalee Newitz: I meant changing gender at will. One moment you have a beautiful cosoplus, then the other a deadly spear of love. It would definitely result in interesting scenarios.
"this adds further evidence to the idea that every single power on Heroes was ripped off from X-Men. Honestly,
they can't pay somebody to come up with a few cool, interesting powers that we haven't seen before?"
There are thousands of X-Men. Or at least it feels like there are thousands of X-Men. Anyway, it would be hard to come up with a new power that hasn't been done before. You would have to go into the weird Tick meets Warehouse 13 territory of powers.
Like "Dialtone," with one single thought he can change anyone into a 1961 Crosley Princess phone. Oooooooo!
Or "Lord Flavor" with the ability to make anything you eat taste like three day old lasagna. Aaaahhhhh!
Yeah, I'd rather stick with the more normal powers of flying and healing and leave such weirdness to the likes of The Middleman. Heroes is too straight lace for that sort of thing.
Did anybody really expect Sylar to die when Peter let go of Nathan? And why do people always fall on cars. There is always plenty of nice asphalt around, why hit the car?
And the guy playing the puppeteer, was that the same actor? He was always overweight, but it looked like he had gained about 60 pounds and a couple of chins.
That puppetmaster part was ridiculous. They basically make that character one of the most sociopathic villains on the show since Sylar and poof! Claire is cool with him? When did this happen? She helped him run from G-man from last season, and it certainly wasn't because she liked him, so what's changed?
Also, it took THIS long for Peter to realize that besides Hiro, Renee has the most useful ability against Sylar? Wow.
@Alexis: The affectionate hug was a huge WTF. This is the creepy dude who controlled your body, and the bodies of both your mommies. He lived in an old puppet theater. He never shaved. He was one of the more effective villains on the show because of how slimy he was.
What kind of lame-ass evil carnival is this, that joining it makes you LESS creepy?!
I was pretty much expecting Samuel to freaking pull up a chunk of planet and put Asteroid M in orbit, that's how hardcore he was channeling 90s-era Claremont Magneto. 90s-era Claremont Magneto had a similar power of gaining sycophantic followers by shoveling vague separatist bullshit at them.
The HRG family dinner was good stuff. "She's not a date" -- oh sure, Mr. I Buy Canned Yams on the other side of town. Muggles and girlfriend. Gay dog breeder "boyfriend" and his faint. Claire's lesbian roomie returning. Amusing family dynamics.
Mama P has raised denial to a new high. And apparently Sylar and Nathan are Immortals, b/c those special effects clearly show There Can Be Only One (running Nylar's body).
Well, maybe good fro Heroes, but still pretty lousy. Hiro has always been about sacrifice, (at least till the writers decided that nothing was more important to him than Charlie) but now he's willing to lie and sell out aguy to protect her?
Samuel's secret power is that he doesn't realize how strong his power is? You're telling me he never experimented or accidently in a moment of anger moved to much earth and learned this on his own?
Gretchen's been gone for what, 1 episode? Just more proof that the writers can't get rid of any characters.
Oh, and if you're looking for homosexuality in the show, look no further than doggie boy. I think he's just dating Claire's mom to get close to HRG.
@Dr Emilio Lizardo: sorry to point this out, but the list of characters that no longer appear on Heroes is pretty big. it's just that their disappearances are never explained or referenced. Maya, Monica, Micah, Molly, Meredith (and thats just the M's!), West, and pretty much all the characters from season 3. And I'm just talking about the ones who haven't died.
So if I was sitting at the carnie table, I would raise my hand and ask the following question:
"How can we have a murder mystery when Hiro can go back in time?? Hiro take a couple of us into the past and we can see who killed the dirt man brother!
Also please pass the stuffing, it's really good."
I thought the eps was boring and kinda stupid.
Claire is worried about her secret getting out for 3 season, but decides to freak out her mom's new BF at the table???? Also wouldn't their be more blood spraying? I bet Dexter called BS on that scene.
Also my biggest problem is that Hiro is taught by the dirt man that changing the past isn't a bad thing but then when he could save the dirt man's brother he doesn't??
@van_line: OMG This was the first time Hiro went back in time for this event. The truth is out. It was never a mystery to to anyone watching the show. I knew right away that Samuel killed his brother and it was kinda given away 3 episodes back.
As for the blood, "Blood" isn't always sprayed across the room like you see in lots of movies. Plus Claire heals almost instantly. She hasn't had a problem with who she is. It's not about keeping a secret, it's always been about leading a normal life.
As for the "Boyfriend" Clearly the man way GAY. Which I think is wonderful. Claire's mother has that whole Fag Hag vibe. Just sayin!

You need a power?: The awesome ability to change genders. How's that for a change?
This would even help come to fruition all those shippers dreams...

The writers for Heroes do produce vast amounts of shit on demand, which they unceremoniously throw at us, the audience.
+1 to you, m'am.

When I see it again, I'll pretend not to see the parts with Dirty Samuel and Hiro (whom I'm soon be hating quite properly) though.
