The only point in that episode that riled me was when they decided to turn Sylar into Nathan. I was screaming, "No, morons! God!" How can you appreciate and enjoy characters when they're so god awfully stupid? Would not at least one of them said, "Christ, this is madness! Let's kill the F'er so we don't have to do this over and over and over again!"

Good review. Terrible show. Look at it this way -- at least someone major died. Sort of. Baby steps.

I actually watched this episode, after having skipped the entire season. Now I regret...missing all those other episodes? Hardly. I regret watching this episode.

The big fight scene was behind closed doors...LAME! Nathan killed, fine...but replaced by Sylar and this is thought of as a good idea somehow? And by his own mother? LAME!

Hiro now can't use his powers without dying...LAME.

The writing on this show is horrible. Sylar needs to hop on the Star Trek gravy train and ride the hell out of town. How on Earth is this dreadful show being greenlit and Chuck is on the fence?!?

Isn't it going to be a bit awkward when Nathan can't fly?

Pretty sure Sylar never stole Nathan's power. Although I do recall he levitated downward when he was done fighting with Nathan...so that also makes no sense.

Yea, the whole fight behind the door bit was silly...they must have been really short of cash for this episode.

BTW...what was up with President Worf's eyes? He was all cross-eyed/lazy-eyed looking, or was that just Peter's morphing screwing up his eye where his hanging lip usually is.

I think the ending would have been better if President Worf shook Sylar's hand and absorbed his powers or something, letting us know that the President had abilities all along.

Then next season it could be all our gang going after the President and his crew of specials.

Just an idea.

Well, now that I read this, it sure sounds like crap.

But as I watched it, I thought something was finally happening on the show, even though the motivations were as ridiculous as ever.

Still, it was better than 90% of this season's episodes.

Which ain't sayin' much if you compare it to say, actually GOOD shows...

@Annalee Newitz: I stopped caring when the fight scene I'd waited for the whole show was OFF CAMERA! I mean, I enjoy watching tiny blondes in terror as much as the next guy, but I wanted to see Lighting and telekinesis and flight and Peter taking Sylar's steal stuff ability then really throwing down. Nathan's death was a waste, the mind wipe was crap and I don't even notice Suresh's monologues.

I'm done.

Okay, Annalee. I've kept my mouth shut for the last few weeks because I have really dug Heroes. Last night was...so, so bad. Now I'm beginning to wonder, was Sylar ever interesting? Was he ever a good character? I don't know. They've fucked with him so much that I don't even know who he's supposed to be anymore.

Also, is Sylar's mom Audrey from Little Shop of Horrors? I recognize that lisp anywhere.

Here is my idea to fix Heroes:

End this season with the death of Matt Parkman's ex-wife and baby. Have Parkman kill Sylar and Danko, and then go on TV saying that he is now in charge of America.

Next Season have his rise to power. First half of the season is all good with only glimpse of Matt going power crazy. Second have a small group of heroes recognize that parkman has lost his mind and they have to take him down.

Heroes has swiped ideas from comics before, this time go for Squadron Supreme, Black Summer direction.

Gods, it was so awful. When I saw in the credits that Micah was in it, I was hopeful, but not even he could save this mess. I loved Sylar so much in season 1, he was easily my favourite character. Now I can't even bear to watch his scenes. I suspect I'm one of the last ones to jump on the "Sylar has outlived his usefulness" train, but I'm there. His very presence on the show feels like a cross between blatant filler and desperation to keep ZQ in the cast at any cost. It's like, just by interacting with them, Sylar makes interesting characters no longer interesting. Danko had potential, and I was really looking forward to seeing where the show was going with him. Then he got the worst kind of Sylared. The kind where he doesn't have the good grace to cut open your head and leave you dead on the floor where we never have to see or hear from you again, but the kind where he sucks your entire storyline into his own personal black hole and destroys any affection we might have had for you, replacing it with frustration, boredom and disappointment. (I miss you, Elle. And you even got Sylared BOTH ways.)

And I am seriously wondering about the psychology of Matt making his ex-fiancee his rebound girl.

There are storylines on this show that have a great deal of potential, and are actually interesting. If they just wanted to make this the "Angela Petrelli is the boss of everybody" show, I would definitely keep watching. As it is, I just don't know.

@Shell_Kracker: Dear Sir, your powers of premonition seem to be unparalleled! You must be like a modern day Nostradamus... except without the beard. Then again, you may have a beard so I could be wrong there.

Perhaps networks can hire you to determine what will be good and what will be bad years from now! It would save them all so much time and money.

Why stop there? This whole economy thing has a bunch of people running around like as the world collapses. You can use your sooth-saying abilities to help them as well! The possibilities are endless!

Of course, this whole plan means nothing if you're just one of those @$$holes who sits back and then snarks "I told you so" comments just so they can feel special from time to time.

But you don't strike me as one of those people. No sir, not at all.

don't get me wrong, i'm not sticking up for this show or especially this episode. however, i don't ever think that Parkman said he loved his ex. he just wanted to be with her so he could be close to his son. which is kinda reasonable i guess...
