How do they let in people who don't have hands? It's a small minority, I know, but still.

Also, this: "Yes, that's the same team of geniuses who gave us the legendary Magic Wand vibrator; I'd say Hitachi knows what it's doing when it comes to innovations that involve the human body."

    is LOL-worthy.

I think you'd want to wash your hands AFTER you use it.

Sign me up, I want one on the house, the car, at work, etc.

Honestly though, one thing that could suck: Not having a back up, and having your finger, how should I say, unavailable?

that's pretty awesome... i'd like to see a VeinID, frankly... i'm sure it would look pretty cool as wall art - intricate and ornate.

but i doubt anyone would volunteer theirs up seeing as it will be used as a means of identification.

    GATTACA! GATTACA!

Wow sorry, but yeah that is (semi easily) thwarted assuming you have the person who's identity you wished to steal held captive... or drugged, taken a large sample of blood and given a forget me now.

Also when bio-engineered humans come around this can be used to filter the invalids and create a rift in society where the un-engineered are not chosen over their genetically superior counter part!

@Finstern: "taken a large sample of blood and given a forget me now."

It reads the pattern of your blood veins, not your actual blood.

So it should work with just about any organ you could stick in there, right?
