I was so excited about this show and now this news just rips the rug right out from under me. It sounds as if the only way for this show to remain as it was intended is if AMC can pick it up. They seem to be the only channel taking risks with original content: Mad Men and Breaking Bad.

It's a show about spacemen in virtual reality on a reality show, and the first thing you'd do to make it appeal to the mouth-breathers is cut the gay characters?

@rek: I was really flailing around there. I think there's nothing you can do to make it "mainstream" without gutting the premise. The gay couple are one of the few things you could cut from it without amputating large chunks of the story.

Sounds a little Dickish. Philip K. Dickish, that is.

TV gets a bad rep for dumbing down people because most programming is stupid. Keep putting on more smart shows and tastes will evolve. But a lot of execs would rather "play it safe", especially when a lot of money is on the line.

At least this VR going wrong has puropse to it, I dont doubt this show would be amazing, if only it gets off the ground...also where is said photo from is there a source o concept art or something?

@RenderRankin: Sorry I didn't respond to this sooner... The photo is an actual image from the pilot, which has been filmed already, months ago. We only have ONE photo from the pilot, and that's it. It appeared in TV Guide, in a little feature about the show's gay married couple. (Who are actually super minor characters.)
