    Who is calling this insensitive again? The Union of Illegal Immigrants? I really don't see how this is politically incorrect (except for possibly the moustache guy portraying all illegal immigrants as mexican?). Now we're supposed to be sensitive to people who aren't even supposed to be exposed to this "political incorrectness"? #illegalalien

    @fxsoap: it's not even that I don't like illegal immigrants. if they can do the work better than the lazy people complaining their jobs are being taken, then they deserve the job. it's that I'm against political correctness. it's political correctness gone mad. #illegalalien

    Well, taking things way, way too seriously is sort of the job of organizations like "The Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights of Los Angeles"... You just can't work up a proper sense of moralistic outrage if you have a sense of humor.

    ...the "drama" might be increasing the outfits attention.

    It's the troll effect. Just like all those red comments that stars can see. It will only bring attention to it if we reply to it, boosting it's popularity.

    Same thing here. Maybe a smarter idea would have been to denounce it after Halloween, therby negating most of the troll effect. #illegalalien

    I was offended when I saw the costume featured on a story on my local news station. It would be one thing if the costume was trying to be satirical, but the alien mask with the cap and mustache goes to far. I hate how small minded people only focus on hispanics as being illegal imigrants. They should open up their eyes and realize that there are illegal aliens from every corner of the world! #illegalalien

    @Jdelgadillo23: Right. Hispanic has become synonymous with illegal aliens. Whether or not you agree that people should be entering the country through non-official means, the fact is that things like this give people more of an excuse to stoke their fear of the other. Xenophobia, quite literally.

    I enjoy non-pc humor as much as they next guy, but only when I know it's coming from someone who is speaking ironically. I don't suspect anyone who would wear this costume out fits that description.

    All the said, there is a difference between things you probably just shouldn't do and things that you should not be allowed to do. This is the former. #illegalalien
