    Does River have an "army of followers," or just one teen doofus with nothing to do but vote? Now, I am a huge fan of Summer Glau, River Tam is bad-ass, and I would happily go out to dinner with Summer. But don't be a doofus when you're voting.

    @Communist Pope: Yes, there is.

    Pepper. Samantha Stevens is alergic to pepper. Anyone who watched the original Bewitched knows that.

    Now, the question is whether or not River herself administers this, or if Mal figures out a way to cheat in this battle. The arena in question might even be laced.

    That said, Samantha is no match in this scenario. However, I do know of another 50s/60s show icon that can beat her (No, no Kirk or Spock.) #rivertam

    1000yrds, in any direction, means nothing in the Whedon universe. Tam would simply compress the pepper into pellets and, using her superior dexterity and strength, flick them like air-burst shells. As Samantha fell to her death Tam would regard the beauty of a flower whilst contemplating a fish supper. #rivertam

    Jeanie would be able to, since even in her sneezing episode, she were able to cause adverse effects.

    All Jeanie would have to do is "wish something good" for River with her in sight.

    The problem is that 1000 yards is hard to "train" a person with your eyes. Jeanie might need to get closer.

    Ultimately though, Jeanie can put River into her bottle (or something.)

    Counterattack - River can break the bottle and make her and Major Nelson (probably Retired now) bleed from their brains (or something.) #rivertam

    Some believe that it is ESP. Some believe that it is much more.But one thing is for certain: She had much more to work with even before "The Federation" got ahold of her.

    In River's own words: "And by the way... I can squash you like a bug... With my mind!"It's only a thought away, Telekinesis of pepper, a "helping hand" from Mal, or otherwise.

    The concepts of war are never on the straight and narrow, just so you know...
