I'm watching Richard Eskow's talk and he has lots of slides, none of which I can see, which considerably diminishes the value of his talk.

Even if I was close to Irvine 150 right before Xmas is a hard sell. I'll definitely watch the videos when they're posted later.

I think I know what you meant, but I'm not sure because I never saw Apocalypse Now.
Hey, do me a favor while you're there, please?
Collect some hot sunlight into a thermos bottle and mail it to me here. It's getting awfully cold (and always wet) here in DK.
What was I thinking to leave southern CA to come to DK? On almost every saturday, all year round, I used to bike from UCI to Laguna Beach, swim in the ocean, then eat at the Shake Shack.
Now I can barely get out without freezing my brain.

Greg and I are such buddies that with my name and his secretary's phone number you can easily get an appointment to see him.
Of course, you can equally as easily get an appointment to see him with just his secretary's phone number...

True story. I see Mr Wolfe and his wife about once a year and I have a few autographed books of his including "The Knight" and "The Wizard." One time, he asked me if I had read them yet. I had to tell him that no, I hadn't gotten around to them yet. He asked what I had read. I told him that I had recently considered his books, but decided to read Joe Haldeman's latest instead. he looked a little irked and said "Next time I see Joe I'm gonna kick his ass." I explained to him that I was really busy and his books were very dense, even a little difficult. I would only start them if I knew I could dedicate a lot of time to them. Otherwise, I wouldn't get as much out of them.
"So you read Haldeman instead because it was easier?" he asked.
"Yes sir, Mr Wolfe."
He smiled a little and squared his shoulders. "Forget kicking his ass. Next time I see Joe, I'm going to tell him you said that!"
