"It's also about nostalgia for who we were and regret over what we've had to become to make our way through the world."
Hi, I'm Wood, I wrote it (you know that), and Ed, thank you. With that line, I feel completely affirmed, because you went right to the heart of what I was writing about.
@SimonMay: I should add that you can still read (most of) the web version at http://jet-pack.net - the last couple parts will drop over the next couple weeks. Try before you buy.
T = Absolute Time Spent Altered R = Robotic Constant which is 8.314472 JK^(−1)mol^(−1) in SI units n = Amount of cybernetic enhancements (usually measured in moles) A = Awesomeness (nuff said) i = Indifference (conversely, inhumanity)
As you can see hear, the amount of cybernetic material in a subject is directly proportional to how awesome said subject is at time of study. As a side effect, the subject's Inhumanity rises but Inhumanity holds the same value as the Indifference such a kick ass subject should feel knowing that they can jump higher than anyone else at the party.

It already is.

There is an actual equation for this.
iA=nRT
The variables are:
T = Absolute Time Spent Altered
R = Robotic Constant which is 8.314472 JK^(−1)mol^(−1) in SI units
n = Amount of cybernetic enhancements (usually measured in moles)
A = Awesomeness (nuff said)
i = Indifference (conversely, inhumanity)
