    I hope this will live up to the hype that was generated so far.

    I don't exactly have high hopes for this series though; I can't exactly see how far the story can progress without steering too far off from the title's original premise

    Just got back from seeing it. I went in a skeptic and came out quite happy. The entire movie is a homage to the past while subtly preparing it for a new generation of viewers.


    You'd be silly not seeing it.

    Ah, so the commercial for Flash Forward "what did you see" is asking you about your vision, not about the scene with the kids in the school.

    Chekov... optimistic? In a morbid sort of way, I guess... he's very jumpy and springy and all, but he's also always saying "oh we're going to die" and "there's no way we're living through this one cap'n". Not like the characters are particularly big parts though, as long as they get the essentials i'll be satisfied.

    @thevarrior: Well, it's particularly a Russian sort of optimism. And they cast a guy from Petersberg, who might be more Russian than Koenig was. So I hope it works.

    "They all had a very specific kind of walk, and a very, very specific kind of smile and a very specific look. There's a very natural optimism about him [Chekov] and I just thought it was really important to capture that."


    That is one of the best things about Chekhov, though I'm not sure it's 'optimism.'
