Terrific illos, one and all. Can't wait for his Alan Moore collaboration "The Moon and Serpent Bumper Book of Magic."

Coulthart is a genius. His depiction of R'lyeh is probably the most alienating, bizarre version I've ever seen--therefore, the most true to Lovecraft's vision of the place.

Art like this, and many thousands of great artists' work as well, might really be humanity's greatest talent and greatest legacy.

@burlybax: Considering how in The Mountains of Madness, the protagonist gleans all of his information of the ancient Arctic civilization from their art, I find this statement quite appropriate.

It goes without saying that this work is so way beyond that lousy He-Man hipster shit with the crappy fore-shortening. This takes true skill & vision.

    Stunning. Just stunning.

He has the minute detail of Dore, and the dark fantasmagoria of H.R. Giger. The latter of whom I thought was the only artist who could get close to the visions of Lovecraft. I stand corrected.

I ordered The Mindscape of Alan Moore from the site -> [www.shadowsnake.com]

it's pretty good...lots of interesting info from Moore - it's almost entirely Moore talking to the camera...with a whole second disc of interviews with people Moore has worked with.

but there is also a lot of frankly amateurish, film schooly crap...

Probably most notably in Promethea, which has a lot more to do with mysticism and mystic designs than From Hell.

Man, Promethea was some crazy-awesome comics.
