His girlfriend's cheating on him, he's got a splitting headache, and he's just died and come back as a zombie. Woke Up Dead traces the first days of Heder's unlife.

Woke Up Dead, produced by Electric Farm (makers of NBC's web serial Gemini Divisions), stars Heder as Drex Greene, a nerdy guy who wakes up in a bathtub to discover that he's dead. His roommate (an aspiring filmmaker and requisite plugger of Kodak products) is convinced that Drex is a zombie, while medical student Cassie (Vernonica Mars regular Krysten Ritter) is only interested in his body (just not in the way he'd like). The first four episodes were posted yesterday, chronicling the last moments of Drex's life and his first few days of zombification:

<![CDATA[Buddy Holly is Alive and Well On Ganymede: The Movie?]]> Jon Heder is set to star as yet another geek, whose life has been interrupted by transmissions from Buddy Holly in the live action translation of Bradley Denton's cracked-out novel, Buddy Holly Is Alive And Well On Ganymede.

Heder plays Oliver Vale, whom the trades describe as:

An average geek whose uneventful life changes when Buddy Holly turns up on every TV channel and declares that Vale is the only one who understands why this is happening — which causes Vale to be pursued by a mob of disguised aliens.

The film will be directed by Robert Rugan, who's responsible for Alice's Misadventures in Wonderland. What's the verdict?

<![CDATA[Jon Heder will play a USC student who wakes...]]> Jon Heder will play a USC student who wakes up in a tub full of water and then suspects that he might actually be dead, in Woke Up Dead, a new web-series from the people who are bringing you Rosario Dawson's Blade Runner riff Gemini Division. Woke Up Dead will consist of 50 (!) three-minute episodes about the comic adventures of a nerdy zombie on campus. The role was tailored for Heder, who "always wanted to play a zombie." <![CDATA[Napoleon Dynamite Meets Strongbad!]]> Napoleon Dynamite's Jon Heder is starring in a new comedy called Loudermilk, about a Napoleon-esque guy who becomes contaminated with a weird substance that gives him amazing abilities. "That blessing does not come without its consequences and costs," says Heder's brother Doug, who's co-producing. The Heders have brought on Chris Zobel, who directed Great World Of Sound and co-founded HomestarRunner.com, to rewrite and direct the film. Zobel and the Heders are aiming for a "cinema-verite" style, with fantastic stuff happening in an ultra-realistic setting. But mostly, I'm just hoping for Strongbad-esque hijinks. Is that too much to ask? [Hollywood Reporter]
