awwww! I loved the end of Jurrasic Park 2! When the T rex is drinking from that pool!
And just wandering around San Diego causing havoc!! That was awesome! #jurassicpark
If they really want to make another Jurassic Park movie then they need to make it more awesome.
I suggest the addition of dinosaurs that are equipped with lasers and jet packs because if there is anything that is totally effin' badass it's dinosaurs with lasers and jet packs.
They should also include a kung-fu battle on top of a dinosaur's back as well as robots, ninjas, monkeys, and pirates.
There should be a totally freaking sweet heavy metal soundtrack too in order to ensure the movie's overall intrinsic awesomeness. #jurassicpark
The rest of the world has been conquered by zombies. There isn't a single square foot of land where they cannot find you: except one.
Everyone knew about the island reserve, but it was thought to be too dangerous. However our plucky young survivors agreed that if they were going to make a stand they would make it on...bum bum bum
Why not a "reboot"? Just go back and remake the first movie like the book. If anything, make it darker. It's OK if Jeff Goldblum dies. Really. We're cool with it. #jurassicpark
@Honu Harry: Although he dies in the book, Michael Chrichton brought him back in The Lost World anyway. It was like, oops, I killed my most interesting character! My bad. Let's pretend that didn't happen. #jurassicpark
@bookling: He isn't even necessarily all that interesting in the original book. He's certainly more interesting than Grant or Ellie. The Jeff Goldblum portrayal of the character was what became popular -- so Chricton brought him back specifically because they had already decided to center the movie sequel around him. It was great how Chricton handled it--I think all he did was to say that earlier reports of the character's death had been in error. There. Done. All in one sentence. No need to spend any more time on it than that. #jurassicpark
That script for JPIV from a few years ago was actually pretty interesting.
The beginning seemed kinda typical, it was goin' along at a normal pace, but then when the hero woke up in the castle - and was greeted by the dino-hunting force (made up of genetically engineered dinos carrying high tech weapons and gear). Wow! LOL
It was so over the top, so nutty. At that point while reading it I figured, why the heck not!
@Twisk: I remember reading about that possible plot. The story was just so bizarre.
But I've always doubted my sanity regarding whether it ever actually existed. Sure my friends and I have talked about it, but all those remembered conversations could be just a symptom of my ever growing madness.
I was always disappointed that they never returned to Isla Nublar (the island from the original movie) and saw what became of the real Jurassic park, not some production facility on another island.
The original was about man trying to control nature with technology until "nature finds a way" to kick our ass and eat us. The other movies were about stupid people going to islands with dinosaurs on them. The first one was a classic scifi narrative while the two sequels were constructed like cheesy horror movies. #jurassicpark
@Capall: There were a lot of things different in the book. Something like that is easily changeable if it creates a more compelling story.
And quite frankly, I think such a "rediscovery" tale about the original island would be pretty sweet. Although, I have to admit, it would have been pretty sweet if the original (as good as it is) would have been more true to the book to begin with. #jurassicpark
@Capall: In the book, it was also implied that the little tiny ones had already reached the mainland. (Maybe possibly pterosaurs as well, but I could be imagining it.) #jurassicpark
@AldoraGreel: I recently re-read the book and I have to agree... every couple pages I'd get to a part and think to myself "damn, that would have looked great in the movie."
Among other things, when they get to the raptor pen when they first get on the island, and the raptors try hunting them despite the fences. I would have loved to see that. #jurassicpark
@Capall: True. But Hammond also got eaten by compies in the original book. Maybe inGen lied (they did that a lot). The movies are their own thing, anyway. #jurassicpark
I'm almost always up for more dinosaurs in cinema, baring something that I just can't stand like Land of the Lost. So yeah, a fourth JP, a new dinosaur movie, whatever. Just make more dinosaurs movies! #jurassicpark
@reddingofish: Exactly. Let the dino park idea die. This was a great story when I was 12,and the first Jurassic Park is still a wonderful movie, but enough already with the Jurassic Park regurgitation. #jurassicpark
