It just occurred to me: Are new comics coming Thursday because of Veterans' Day?
Edit: Oh holy crap, how did I miss this? S.W.O.R.D. #1 comes out this week! Abigail Brand is the second best thing to come out of Joss's run on Astonishing (the best being Armor).
Pushing two words together is more Punishing... to grammer.

@DocSeuss: Ah! Its Muphry's Law in effect. {^_^}!!!

Whilst I'm on entirely the wrong side of the Atlantic to have a hope of getting it before the trade, the Wall-E series actually has me really excited, as does Supergod. Although I'm reasonably sure a Supergod movie done by Pixar isn't going to be happening aaaaany time soon... #avengers
It has been my dream since I was teen to see Superman die at the hands of Doomsday on the big screen. The whole movie would just be epic and awesome, and would end with a cliffhanger that would pretty much lock down a sequel. How many people know that Superman can "die"? It would just be awesome and Smallville totally dropped the ball. If he wants to go dark, killing him is about as dark as it gets.
It seems like the biggest issue with making a Superman movie (Live-action) is the fact that they keep trying to put him in our world as opposed to leaving him in his own.
@Xsuit: exactly. Superman has a very full and well-built world of his own. That it is only tangentially related to our own, and in a hyper-real, exaggerated sort of a way is a good thing. That's what allows the character to work. Stop trying to convince us that a man can fly and just make a superman movie that is straight up sci-fi.
Am I alone in thinking maybe they should do a Superman period movie?
Seriously - if people have concerns about the mythos not working in modern times, plus added to the fact a 'dark' Superman would be a terrible idea, why not set it during an earlier period of America.
Even if you bring it forwards a little to the fifties you can still tap into subjects such as McCarthyism and the cold war - interesting enough social dilemas which mirror today's social paranioa and keep Superman where he belongs in a wonderful sepia America.
Yes, yes yes! A Superman during the Depression would be pretty cool. It allows the sci-fi element to finally bust out a bit.
Even the fifties would be cool, as you say.
I'm tired of Luthor the businessman, anyway (although it would be somewhat interesting in a Depression-Era story) and would like to see someone build a giant robot for Superman to fight. Where are the giant robots?
Why is everyone in charge at Warner Bros. Animated a complete idiot?
First of all, KEEP KEVIN CONROY as Batman. Second, if you're going to steal from Grant Morrison STEAL EVERYTHING - don't just take a few elements and then implant them into a retarded plot that doesn't make sense (Owlman destroying the multiverse - who's retarded idea was that? Why would he stupidly want a murder-suicide of that scale?). Having Grant Morrison direct and write a JLA EARTH 2 Animated Adaptation would have been AWESOME! What Warner Bros. is doing here is more of the same boilerplate garbage that they've been producing ever since the end of the JLU Animated Series.
Also, if you're going to do a parallel universe story you need to have Kevin Conroy doing the voices of BOTH BATMAN AND OWLMAN! But, no, that would have made far too much sense.
What's with this garbage stunt celebrity casting shit?! They sound terrible. Except, of course, for Gina Torres who's a great voice actor.
Why are all these television executives always so completely brain-dead?
All these one-off DC Animated Features have all been wasted efforts.
@SnehalMarten: Well, I agree with everything except your last statement. The Wonder Woman and Green Lantern movies were good. I wonder if this one fell under new management or something.
Glad to see another DC Universe movie coming out, these have been pretty good.
However I wish they had a bit more consistency with the voice acting. Public enemies had the original voices which I think it made it easier to get immersed in. Having these new voices each time around is just distracting.
@hewhoroams: I agree about the voice acting. I think Batman is the only one they have gotten consistent through the animated series and now the DCU movies, which is good because I can't imagine anyone else's voice as the cartoon Batman.
@aquajaws: Not only that, but Rocksteady was smart enough to keep Conroy for Batman: Arkham Asylum (AWESOME game, btw) and the game's story was excellent, too, as good, if not better, than some of the animated movies. It seems odd that they change it now.
