The original Gort looked like a stumpy-legged, kleenex-box-shoed, man in a spandex suit with an oversized head and ape-arms. Nevermind the fact that he wore metallic panties. And walked like he just shat said panties.
This Gort is looking awesome compared to the old one. It's as close to the original as you can get without it looking ridiculous or having fanboys freak out. But..somehow people still complain.
@Plague: Thank you Plague. They even devoted an couple scenes the first season to him cleverly taking the whole Hipster (then beatnik) ideology down a few pegs.
I agree, there's a weird dichotomy of liking Don Draper. Not to get to into Mad Men here, but I consider myself a feminist and yet, I loves me some Draper. With emo hipster types, I think they like him for being completely unlike them and reveling in it. He's good at being a "tool" without actually being a tool.

i think this movie will disappoint me, but I'm dying to watch it to critique the crap out of it while people are still watching it with sayings like;
"That wasn't in the original!"
"what bullshit! that didn't happen in the book"
and so on and so forth until my throat is sore.

Wow, that made no sense.

-droney music, actual soundtrack probably still in works
-Keanu Reeves is still in it
-Americans dying by the droves
The rest I like.

I look forward to the day when "humans dying by the droves" is what bothers folks.
