Also, this guy directed "Fighting"? It's hard to call that a good sign, unless it leads to a lot of awesome Gurney Halleck and Duncan Idaho moments.
As long as we're talking about feature films, I have to admit with Tennant's time on the Doctor nearly done and with how popular and charismatic he was, I admit I'm surprised no big-screen version was considered. Maybe it's against the Doctor Who mission as set up in the Magna Carta.

As for the next one cast Patrick Stewart in it and I'll go see it.

since when do incredibly complex movies fit into two-hour movie slots? if a movie is ever made of my book, it'll be at least four hours with an intermission like "Lawrence of Arabia"

And that quote sums up just what a disaster this will be, they have no clue.
Spice is part of the book, come on man, really? That's the best answer you can give?

Actually, I read that with a "what you are you kidding?" sound to it.

The miniseries lacked punch.

The miniseries hit all the nails that Lynch's movie missed, but nothing else. Lynch had better actors, sets, costumes, and pacing. Sci-Fi had better blue eye effects and was more faithful to the book.

First of all Paul Muad-dib is 15 in the book..hell in the movie he is almost THIRTY?? Sorry does not compute..

Never said better casting, just better actors. The ones they got for the miniseries were largely untalented. Those few who _were_ talented were still mostly outclassed by their Lynchian counterparts. The one exception I can think of is the guy who played Piter in the movie, who really kinda sucked (though, to be fair, that perception may be tainted by the fact that he said "Lands-draad").

When you mess something up as bad as you did Dune, cut your losses and let it go.
