<![CDATA[Awesome Clips From Doctor Who And Avatar, Plus A Major New Lost Clue]]> Four Avatar TV spots include new walker-stomping action, and Doctor Who explains temporal mechanics in a new clip. Lost set pics reveal a new puzzle piece. Plus Chuck, Fringe, Kick-Ass, Daybreakers, Dollhouse, Sorcerer's Apprentice, Better Off Ted and V spoilers.

Avatar:

A few new TV spots. Spot #13 includes some sexy heavy walker action.

And an early review from someone who's seen the film says its plot is almost non-existent, but it's like the biggest first-person shooter ever. And:

What we have is: Boy meets alien through marines, boy loses aliens and marines, boy fights marines and gets girl. And I was also told that despite all the trappings of special effects, blue people and CGI skies, Sigourney Weaver still manages to register strongly with warmth and a commanding presence.

[Hollywood Elsewhere via Slashfilm]

Lost:

So, trying to piece together all the clues in E! Online's latest spoiler column... Charlotte (Rebecca Mader) is back from the dead, but the timeline in which she's suddenly alive is not the same one in which Flight 815 landed safely in L.A. — it's the other timeline, which we'll be visiting concurrently. Charlotte will be revealed to be alive in the same time period where we saw her die. And the explanation of Charlotte's survival will blow your mind (and presumably has nothing to do with Juliet's hydrogen bomb.) Also, Jack and Rose will be reunited, and it will feel so good. [E! Online]

So if you've been paying attention, you'll have heard there's a "Temple" set being built for the sixth season, and we've only glimpsed its exterior so far. But now, some fans seem to have stumbled on the full Temple set, and it includes the expected Egyptian imagery (Anubis) , but also the Hindu Trimurti. Given that there was a little campfire with a cauldron out front, with some rotting potatoes and an old blanket, the eyewitness suspects these scenes take place on the Island in ancient times — and the Island may be a paradise for many different religions. And there are some pics. (More at the link.) [SpoilersLost]

A new promo for season six is truly "Amazing." Okay, maybe not.

Doctor Who:

Here's another new clip from "The End Of Time Part 1," in which the Doctor explains about the Blinovitch Limitation Effect (sort of) to an uncomprehending Wilf. [BlogtorWho]

Dollhouse:

The show is looking for someone to play "T," a six year old with mixed Asian/Caucasian heritage, who's fearless, precocious and adorable, in the finale. And speculation is, this might be Sierra and Victor's son in the future. [E! Online]

Fringe:

Here's a new promo for this show plus Bones. [Fringe Italia]

Kick Ass:

Matthew Vaughn says this movie won't feature the typical boring action sequences — rather, every action sequence will tell a story:

It's 11-year-old girls slicing and dicing people, and getting shot. I mean, I'm very bored of the way most of the big movies shoot action, all this shaky camera, handheld, close cutting, quick cutting. So I've tried to put a narrative story into every action sequence.

[Crave Online via Comic Book Resources]

Daybreakers:

A new TV spot shows a bit more of the consequences of running out of human blood for this vampire-dominated future. [ShockTillYouDrop]

The Sorcerer's Apprentice:

Here's a new pic showing Nic Cage looking just as magical as he has in all the other pics you've seen. Bigger version at the link. [The HD Room]

V:

Morris Chestnut says the next episodes will be worth the wait (until late March). Things about the Vs will be revealed, and they'll be pushing the envelope. [E! Online]

Chuck:

As we mentioned before, the first 13 episodes of the season have their own arc which wraps up at the end of episode 13. But then the extra six episodes, which the network added to the season after the show was moved back from March to January, will have a totally different story arc, clarifies Zachary Levi. Yay for not trying to pad out the original 13-episode storyline to last another six episodes. [Sci Fi Wire]

Better Off Ted:

Someone sends out a memo with a typo, saying "Employees must now use offensive language," so everybody starts swearing up a blue streak to comply with it. "They think it's good for morale," says Jay Harrington. [E! Online]

<![CDATA[Tons Of Revealing Pics Of The Tenth And Eleventh Doctors. Plus Meet Another William Adama!]]> An Avatar clip shows how to wear sunglasses while riding a dragon. A Kick Ass poster showcases the Red Mist. Get your first glimpse of Doctor Who's next aliens and historical setting. Plus Caprica casting and Mad Max/Lovely Bones hints.

Mad Max: Fury Road:

Just how big is the set for this film? Says star Tom Hardy:

It's massive. It's enormous," he continued. "It's like turning a mountain upside down and pouring it through a sieve.

Any clue what that means? It sounds epic, anyway. [MTV]

Avatar:

Not sure if we've already run this clip or not, but if not, then enjoy:

And here's a clip we definitely haven't shown you before. I love Neytiri wearing her sunglasses to ride her dragon. [Cineplex via Slashfilm]

The Lovely Bones:

Weird nitpicks: After Stanley Tucci's creepy pedophile murderer tosses his victim Susie Salmon's charm bracelet in the water, but keeps the "house" charm. But then we see all the charms expand into ice sculptures or clouds or topiaries — but the house charm is still among them. Also, before Susie dies we see her reading Seventeen magazine, but after she dies, she fantasizes she's the cover girl in Groovy Teen magazine. Towards the end of the movie, Susie sort of inhabits the body of a goth girl who looks like Emly the Strange, and makes out with Emily's boyfriend, whom Susie loved before she died. Then Susie goes to heaven permanently, and we see Emily and her boyfriend spooning, with no mention of the weird ghost possession make-out that just happened. [Black Book Mag]

Kick Ass:

A new character poster gives us a better look at the Red Mist. Bigger version at the first link. [AICN via Cinemablend]

Endangered Species:

A few new details about Eli Roth's Transformers-meets-Cloverfield movie. It's set against an urban backdrop. He's tweaking the script at Quentin Tarantino's suggestion. He's going to do some visual-effects tests, the results of which will determine how he shoots the thing. It's very character-driven, and he has some actors he's dying to work with. [MTV]

Eclipse:

A new picture of your favorite couple, Edward and Bella. [SpoilerTV-Movies]

Doctor Who:

As you may have heard, the show was filming in Croatia this past week, with the Doctor, Amy and new companion Rory in tow. (And some are claiming that Rory is Amy's boyfriend — is he the new Mickey Smith?) The Croatia filming appears to be for an episode taking place in the past, judging from some of the costumes. But don't believe the British media chatter that it's an episode about vampires — it's almost certainly the Van Gogh episode that Richard Curtis wrote. More pics at the links. [Sky and Hello!]

Here are a bunch of promo pics from "The End Of Time," David Tennant's swansong, one or two of which we may have shown you before. They include your first look at the alien, shapeshifting Vinovicci. [BlogtorWho and BSCReview]

Meanwhile, Britain's Radio Times has another cast list for "End Of Time" part 2, which conflicts with the IMDB version. Notably, no Harriet Jones. Hmmm...

David Tennant - The Doctor
John Simm - The Master
Bernard Gribbins - Wilfred Mott
Timothy Dalton - The Narrator
Catherine Tate - Donna Noble
Jacqueline King - Sylvia Noble
June Whitfield - Minnie Hooper
Claire Bloom - The Woman
David Harewood - Joshua Naismith
TRacy Ifeachor - Abigail Naismith
Lawry Lewin - Rossiter
Sinead Keenan - Addams
Alexandra Moen - Lucy Saxon
Karlo Collins - Shaun Temple
Teresa Banham - Governor
Barry Howard - Oliver Barnes
Allister Bain - Winston Katusi
Sylvia Seymour - Miss Trefusis
Pete Lee-Wilson - Tommo
Dwayne Scantlebury - Ginger
Joe Dixon - The Second
Julie Legrand - The Partisan
Brid Brennan - The Visionary
Krystal Archer - Neys
Lachele Carl - Trinity Wells
Paul Kasey - Ood Sigma
Ruari Mears - Elder Ood
Silas Carson - voice of Ood Sigma
Brian Cox - voice of Elder Ood
Nicholas Briggs - voice of Judoon

[BlogtorWho]

Caprica:

This Battlestar Galactica prequel just cast another actor to play William Adama — no, not the future Admiral, but his grandfather. Aleks Paunovic will play the father of Joseph Adama and grandfather to little Willie in some flashback scenes, and he'll be a recurring character. Paunovic already appeared on BSG, playing Sgt. Fischer. [Aleks Paunovic via Battlestar Blog]

Lost:

A deserted area of Hawaiian rainforest hides a new camp which has been set up for this show's sixth season. It doesn't look like much, though. More pics at the link. [SpoilersLost]

Another new set — a ship of some sort, or rather part of one. It's apparently designed so they can rock the deck back and forth and make it look like the ship is caught up in a huge storm. And considering that some prisoner types were hanging around in baggy brown clothes, it may be the Black Rock. More pics at the link. [SpoilersLost]

Jose Yenque tweeted that he's joining the cast of this show. [Twitter via SpoilersLost]

Also, Fionnula Flanagan told an Irish talk show she'll be back for two episodes as Eloise Hawking, not surprisingly. [SpoilersLost]

Fringe:

The cast reveals the names of the Observers, and discusses their significance. [Fringe Television]

Meanwhile, I'm hard-pressed to tell exactly what's going on in this new set video. I think Anna Torv is being blown across a parking lot by some mysterious force, but hard to say. There are seven more videos from the same person under this YouTube account. I do like one commenter who says the intrepid fan making these recordings should shave his/her head and wear a fedora. [Anon120409 on Youtube]

And here's a sneak peek and "scenemaker" for Thursday's new Walter-and-William episode. [FringeRus]

Supernatural:

The show is casting one of the Four Horsemen for the episode "My Bloody Valentine:

[FAMINE] 50 to 80 years old... He is one of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. He is withered, weak, raspy. This character is a creepy and destructive old man filled with a voracious hunger...GUEST STAR

[CUPID] 30s to 40s, doughy, out of shape, naked, his humorously loving character greets everyone with enormous bear hugs that almost break their ribs. He is overflowing with love and positivity to an almost humorous and narcotic degree (think Will Farrell in "ELF" sptv050769)...GUEST STAR

[SpoilerTV]

Also, Julie McNiven says that when Anna goes back in time and tries to kill baby Sam in episode 13, it's for the best reasons:

Everything Anna does is motivated by wanting to do the right thing, wanting to do what she feels is going to keep this apocalypse from happening. I see Anna as always doing what she thinks is right and she's very strong about that and doesn't want to hear anything otherwise.

And she says there's some great hand-to-hand combat and throwdowns in the episode, and hints that Anna does actually survive to try and kill more babies in the future. [AOL]

The Survivors:

There will be a "high octane" second series of this British remake at some point, but no date yet. And here's what happens:

The series picks up moments after the thrilling cliff-hanger to the first series and the survivors are now struggling not just with the difficulties of day-to-day life amidst the ruins of the post-virus apocalypse but also with the threat of other emerging communities and the machinations of the sinister Lab.

As the series begins, Abby is being held by Whittaker and Fiona at the Lab. There, she learns that the scientists have avoided infection and are looking desperately for a vaccine which they believe her unique immune system alone will generate.

Meanwhile, the family races to save Greg's life as he lies dying from a gunshot wound. Drawn into a burning hospital by their search for the necessary medical equipment, Al and Anya are caught in an avalanche of rubble as the building collapses around them. Tom is faced with the stark challenge of rescuing his friends from a seemingly insurmountable disaster, with only Sarah and Naj to help him.

Characters returning for this high-octane second series are Abby, a devoted mother with a missing son; Greg, a loner, hiding the pain of his past; Anya, a doctor who has seen too much; Al, a playboy who becomes a surrogate father to the young and headstrong Najid; Sarah, a hedonist used to getting her own way; Tom Price, handsome, dangerous and a high-security prisoner before the virus hit; and Samantha Willis, the last surviving member of the British Government.

[Survivors BBC TV]

V:

So just who are the Visitors? Laura Vandervoort explains that they're basically Canadians. Also, she says her character is definitely somewhat evil, but she's not sure how much yet. [Multipleverses]

FlashForward:

Apparently the reason why the show took a week off was simple: Major, huge developments happen in the episodes that were going to be episodes 15 and 16, and the network looked at those scripts and decided they should be episodes 13 and 14 instead (so, less treading water.) And it's not clear whether the original episodes 13 and 14 were scrapped, or just retooled to appear later in the season. Also, the biggest reveals of the season happen in the next two episodes, 11 and 12, says David S. Goyer. [EW]

Chuck:

Episode 3x11 will be "Chuck Vs. The Final Exam." [ChuckTV]

And one more new promo reveals that we'll be seeing a "Whole New Chuck." He's a reluctant spy no longer.

Sanctuary:

In next week's episode, "Penance," Michael Shanks guest stars as an abnormal named Jimmy who has a special David Cronenberg-esque pouch in his stomach, which he can use to smuggle things for the Sanctuary — including, in this case, a dangerous abnormal. Some bad guys get involved, and he's forced to go on the run with Kate, leading to a big secret for the two of them being revealed. And then in the following week's "Sleepers," Will and Magnus are in Mexico looking into some missing teenagers, and they run into vampire Nikoka Tesla, who's up to no good. [Sci Fi Wire]

<![CDATA[Kick-Ass Creator's New Comic Is Dark Knight Mash-Up]]> Wanted and Kick-Ass creator Mark Millar has unveiled his latest Marvel Comics creation, and between the high concept and promotional image released, it's as if he's daring DC to think about legal action. Ballsy or insane? You be the judge.

Nemesis, a new series created and owned by Millar and his Civil War collaborator doesn't just look like the Joker's smile painted on an all-white-costumed Batman's face, it's literally "What if Batman was the Joker." Millar explained to Comic Book Resources:

Yeah, a lot of people who've read it have been coming up with hilarious tag-lines. "What if Batman was The Joker?" is the tame one. "What if Batman was a total cunt?" is maybe my favourite, although it's hardly going to be an ad. [It's] is a reversal of the Bruce Wayne or Tony Stark archetype. What if this genius billionaire was just this total shit, and the only thing that stood between him and a city was the cops? It's Batman versus Commissioner Gordon, in a weird way. Or maybe a super-villain version of "Se7en." A billionaire anarchist up against ordinary people. The Joker's the best thing in the Batman movies, so this guy is a bit of an amalgamation of all the stuff we like.

Consider it a psychological thriller with an unlimited special effects budget, if Millar's description of the series is anything to go by:

All the cops are needed to go up against a guy as formidable as this. He's almost supernatural, he's so good. But he happens to just be in a costume. Hopefully nobody's ever seen anything like it before. We're so used to supervillains fighting superheroes, I just thought, "Imagine if there was only one person on the planet like this, and he was actually a bad guy." How would cops deal with him, even though he has no super-powers? ...Very simply, I wanted to do a book about the world's greatest villain up against America's greatest cop. I just liked the high concept of that - the idea of a villain going around from country to country and having a battle of wits with the best guy that he can get his hands on. And he sends them a little funeral wreath with the date and time of when they're going to die on it, every one dying at precisely that time. All these cops in the Pacific Rim are dead, and then we come in at the American side of the story and see the struggle of this guy in just trying to stop him.

(As much as this is so-obviously-they're-admitting-it-right-off-the-bat a Batman rip-off, am I the only person who got to "All the cops are needed to go up against a guy as formidable as this" and "I just thought, 'Imagine if there was only one person on the planet like this, and he was actually a bad guy'" and thought that it was Death Note?)

The series will debut in 2010, and yes, Millar admits in the interview that there's already Hollywood interest in a movie adaptation.

<![CDATA[What's Bleeding Into Doctor Who's Universe? A Sexy New Avatar Picture And Secrets Of Kick-Ass]]> Russell T. Davis drops some tantalizing hints about David Tennant's dramatic finale. Kick-Ass director Matthew Vaughn gives a "commentary track" for the trailer, and we uncover images from Avatar and the The Wolfman. Plus, Lost, Supernatural, Smallville, Flashforward, and V.

The Wolfman

Two new editors have been brought onto the project. Dennis Virkler has been let go and Mark Goldblatt and Walter Murch have been brought on in his stead. Goldblatt was the editor on the first two Terminator films, Starship Trooper, and Armageddon, among others, and Murch has worked on Apocalypse Now, Ghost, and The Talented Mr. Ripley. [/Film]

Doctor Who

Russell T. Davies hinted that the Ood and their preternatural understanding that the Tenth Doctor's journey is coming to an end are very important. And he says that "You'd think something is bleeding, coming through from the other side." Some have suggested this indicates some sort of parallel universe. [Planet Gallifrey]

Den of Geek rounds up all of the spoilers they have for the Christmas special "The End of Time." They mention that we we'll meet a new kind of Ood (actually the one from the end of "The Waters of Mars"), and have summed up the cast of characters we'll be seeing: Wilf, Donna, Donna's mother Sylvia, the Master, the Master's wife, Joan Redfern, Rose, Luke Smith, Captain Jack, and Sarah Jane Smith. And, as we've mentioned before, former Bond Timothy Dalton will appear in the episode. A three-minute clip will air as part of the BBC Children in Need transmission this Friday. [Den of Geek]

Lost

The folks at DocArzt have cleaned up the Season Six poster so it's easier to identify the individual cast members. Larger version at the link. [DocArzt's Lost Blog]

Damon Lindelof talked to E! about what it's like to finish up the series and pull together so many of the show's mysteries:

"It's very exciting to us basically. It feels like we've been Christmas shopping for five years, and we've been accruing all these presents, and we've been locking them up in closets and not letting people look at them. And now there's sort of this, 'Oh my god, do they have one of these already? Did I get the right sizes? What was I thinking when I bought this? Are they even going to like it?' So there's a terror there, but at the same time, Christmas is here and it's time to open up the closet and start unwrapping and we'll see what happens."

Supernatural

EW has a clip from this Thursday's episode, in which Sam and Dean's search for Lucifer puts them face to face with Meg and a pack of demonic hellhounds. [EW]

Smallville

Each episode of the two-part Justice Society has its own name — we've known for a while that the first part is "Society" and the second part is "Legends," but it turns out the two-hour event as a whole has a separate name: "Smallville: Absolute Justice." [EW]

Lost:

So if you've been paying attention, you'll know that Benjamin Linus is a schoolteacher, and his adopted daughter Alex is a schoolgirl, in the show's new alternate timeline. And fans caught glimpses of shooting at a suburban house, where Roger Linus, Ben's dad, comes to visit Ben. And they overheard Roger telling Ben, "This is not the life I wanted for you, Ben." And then Alex shows up at Ben's door, rings the doorbell, and he answers. They talk for a while, and then she tells Ben he's the best. And then leaves. Ben lingers at the doorway, then closes it. [Hawaii Weblog]

Looks like we'll be speaking a lot of Spanish in the upcoming episode 6x09, if this casting call is anything to go by:

[ISABELLA] Latina, 30s, fluent in Spanish. Strong sense of self and adores her husband. Devout Catholic who is battling a long-term illness...GUEST STAR.

[FATHER SUAREZ] Latino, 50s to 60s, fluent in Spanish. A well educated, old school Catholic priest who is stern and has an inflexible opinion of right and wrong...VERY NICE CO-STAR, POSSIBLE GUEST STAR.

[JONAS WHITFIELD] Early to mid 30s; English; must speak with authentic accent. He's crisp and his bearing is of a British military officer. Athletic and agile, he's worked hard to rise up the corporate ladder and make something of himself. He believes in survival of the fittest...GUEST STAR.

[DOCTOR] Latino, 40s-50s, fluent in Spanish. Sophisticated, wealthy, and a somewhat mercenary upper-class doctor who has an imperious bedside manner but knows his stuff...NICE CO-STAR.

[IGNACIO] Latino, 30s, fluent in Spanish. Poor, religious and street smart. On the wrong side of the law but only because he's a victim of his circumstances... NICE CO-STAR.

Lance Reddick says an upcoming episode deals with the difficulty of knowing who is good or evil, when it comes to these alternate universes and tangly pasts — does it all just depend on your point of view? And this particularly comes into play with Walter's unscrupulous past experiments. Also, he says it's not out of the question that we'll see more Nina-Broyles kissing, and it's possible we'll get an Astrid-centric episode one day. [TV Guide]

And here are some more promo pics for "Of Human Action." [SpoilerTV]

Sarah Jane Adventures:

Here are a slew of promo pics from the season finale, featuring... the Slitheen. Again?? [Den Of Geek]

2012:

John Cusack says this isn't a disaster movie, it's an apocalypse movie, and the first act is like the last act of most other movies — and then it just builds from there. He explains:

This has to do with people trying to figure out, 'What do you do when there is no escape and there is no way out?' So you have a much more existential vibe than just, 'How do we survive this disaster?'

Whatever you have to tell yourself, John. [MTV]

V:

FlashForward:

Smallville:

Also, when Zatanna returns in "Warrior," she's stirring up love-triangle-shaped tension with Lois and Clark. And this episode takes place at Metropolis Wonder-Con, which is basically San Diego Comic Con — and Chloe meets a new love interest at the con. [EW]

True Blood:

Sam Trammell is a fountain of speculation and inside info. When we meet werewolves in season three, they'll be disgusting, smelly creatures, like in the books. And Evan Rachel Wood is probably heading for some kind of disaster as retribution for selling all the V. Eric's hold over Sookie will grow next season, but a Bill/Sookie wedding next year isn't out of the question. [Digital Spy]

Chuck:

Fringe

Olivia will meet the Observer in the episode "August." Anna Torv calls it "a really, really, beautiful, beautiful episode." William Bell and Walter Bishop will have a confrontation. John Noble, who plays Walter, says that he just filmed "a lovely scene" and that something very shocking will be revealed. And there's also the sense that of a breach, and that breaking the laws of nature comes with repercussions. The cast also had some things to say about the season that are more speculative than spoiler. Joshua Jackson believes that we'll see the alternate Walter and that Peter will discover he's from "over there" (although he doesn't know if Peter will return to the Fringe team or if he'll want to burn the whole universe down). Noble believes that when we meet the alternate Walter, he'll be thoroughly pissed off. And Torv hopes we'll see an alternate Olivia. [SCI FI Wire]

<![CDATA[Kick-Ass Creator: I'd Still Do Superman, As Long As They Don't Ask For A Pitch]]> In case recent stories have you worried that Wanted and Kick-Ass creator Mark Millar has given up his dream of a Superman movie trilogy, never fear: He's claiming that it was a joke that got taken too seriously.

MTV announced earlier this week that Marvel Comics writer Millar had other priorities besides a Superman movie - including, apparently, making money:

I don't think [DC Entertainment] could afford me now... I'll stick with Marvel.

On his own website, however, Millar disowns the quote:

I don't think I said they couldn't afford me now. If I did I was joking because writing Superman would be a massive payday so if I said that I was obviously laughing at the time. It's possible though as I like being glib.

He goes on to say that what little we know about his plans for a trilogy aren't enough:

Nobody has ever seen my Superman idea besides Matthew [Vaughan, Kick-Ass director]. We never pitched. I've never done a pitch in my life (it's demeaning) so all this stuff about people hating my Superman ideas, etc, is just bullshit. Nobody's seen it. I don't write or give ideas away for free and simply wouldn't. I mentioned a big epic idea to Empire in a Wanted interview which was a couple of lines long, but no story stuff at all. So the stuff about me pitching is nonsense. I don't and will never pitch. That's why I like working in comics.

Considering DC Entertainment's apparent lack of desire for a Superman movie, the idea of them asking someone working for their biggest competitor to write a trilogy without presenting a pitch first seems more than a little unlikely, but dare to dream, Mark.

<![CDATA[Secrets Of Jeff Bridges' Second Character In Tron Legacy, Plus Supernatural's Visit To the Future]]> Jeff Bridges takes on two roles in Tron Legacy, Supernatural travels into the future, and Cuddy gets some loving on House. Plus, more details on Dollhouse, seven clips from FlashForward, and Kick-Ass, Fringe, Warehouse 13, and The Green Hornet

Tron Legacy

Producer Sean Bailey says that the younger version of Jeff Bridges (depicted using the same techniques done to de-age Brad Pitt in The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, play a major role in the film. But Bridges will also play a second, older character, though Bailey won't say who. He also said that the computer world of Tron Legacy is not part of the Internet, but an isolated space that evolved on its own, much like the Galapagos Islands. He also reiterated that we'll be seeing light runner vehicles traveling off-road. [SCI FI Wire]

Surrogates

Radha Mitchell talks a bit about playing her character as both her human self and her robotic surrogate:

It's great to be able to change your costume in one story, and have these two different identities, but what I guess the story really gets at is the abstraction of social interaction and I guess also the obsession with perfection. So there are the robots that are all supposed to have this particular aesthetic look that I guess currently we would consider better than the other look, but if you can change your costume like that, you lose the bias, and then you go for comfort. I had a padded ass in the second costume, and, like, buckteeth, but ultimately when you can wear high heels, or you can sit around in a padded ass? So you can do either or by choice and you choose the ass. Then there's the idea that you could change your gender, and you could change your race, so what is intrinsic to who we are? We feel like it's this sort of physical thing, but maybe we are just these creatures of the mind.

Kick-Ass

Mark Millar says both the Kick-Ass book and the movie will end on a teaser, setting up a sequel. [MTV]

Fringe

[Zap2it]

Episode nine will feature Dr. Lao Che, an English and Cantonese-speaking herbalist with big plans. [Spoiler TV]

We'll have a fresh encounter with one of Broyles' old cases from his long history with the Fringe Division this season. [EW]

Joshua Jackson said not to expect any Peter-Olivia romance, as he views their relationship more like that of siblings. He also says this season's episodes are about half mythology episodes, and half one-off investigations. [CinemaBlend]

Supernatural

As we mentioned, the season's fourth episode, "The End," features Dean traveling into the future to the year 2014, when a demonic virus is turning people into zombies, and Zachariah explains that this is the world that results from Dean's refusal to help the angels fight Lucifer. Dean also meets his future self.

It's a Dean-heavy episode, to be sure, but Sam will appear about ten minutes before then end, and his appearance will make his absence from the rest of the episode make sense. [E! Online]

For the seventh episode, Hal Ozsan and Pascale Hutton have been cast as Lia and Patrick respectively. [Spoiler TV]

House

Creator David Shore is aware that Taub and Thirteen's three-year fellowships are about to end, but hasn't figured out what to do about it. Also, there are no indications in the early scripts that Cuddy is aware of House getting down and dirty with Franka Potente, but Cuddy may be getting a little action of her own, in the form of scruffy privae detective Lucas Douglas. [EW]

Lost

The third episode of the new season will center on Kate. [EW]

Warehouse 13

Here is the official description and sneak peek for the show's first season finale from Syfy:

"MacPherson" is the thrilling action-packed season finale which features guest appearances by CCH Pounder (ER) and Roger Rees (Cheers). MacPherson, after a failed attempt to take Artie's life, is now selling dangerous artifacts, stolen from the Warehouse shelves, on the black-market. Artie and Leena (Genelle Williams) also suspect there's a mole in the Warehouse who's secretly aligned with MacPherson – could it be Claudia? Meanwhile, as the team hunts down MacPherson, they realize too late that his capture is a carefully orchestrated trap to destroy them.

V

The producers are casting the guest role of Cyrus for episode three. He'll be a jittery man in his late 30s who was, in his youth, a fierce and proud soldier. [Spoiler TV]

Heroes

Actors Ray Park and Robert Knepper say that their characters aren't stereotypical carnival folk, and Knepper described his character Samuel is a "Keith Richards-esque, rock and roller kind of guy." Park said his character, Edgar is a supe speedster like Daphne, with knife skills and acrobatics as a bonus. Samuel, meanwhile, is an earthmover, able to manipulate the ground beneath him. They also said there is a lot of rivalry and jealousy between the pair, saying if they trust each other, they still won't turn their backs on one another for very long. [CBR]

On September 28, NBC is launching ten consecutive weeks of Heroes webisodes, which they say will crossover with the TV series. [Spoiler TV]

The tenth episode of the season is called "Brother's Keeper." [HeroesSite]

<![CDATA[God Joins Supernatural's Apocalyptic Battle, Plus More Sexy Images from Gamer]]> Supernatural's apocalypse gets a few new players, including the Four Horsemen and God. Gamer gets a few more bikini-clad pictures, and Kick-Ass gets an animated sequence. Plus, The Vampire's Assistant, Stargate Universe, The Host 2, FlashForward, Fringe, and Defying Gravity.

Kick-Ass

This one might be a spoiler for the comic book as well: John Romita Jr., who does the artwork for the Kick-Ass comic, contributed artwork for an animated sequence. Romita explains that, in the film, Nic Cage's character Big Daddy has drawn a comic book to commemorate his vigilante adventures. At one point in the film, Big Daddy is hauled off to prison and his partner discovers the comic, and when he opens it, the animation sequence begins, revealing the origin of Big Daddy. [MTV]

Also, Kick-Ass has finally gotten a release date. Expect it in theaters April 16th, 2010. [/Film]

Gamer

Plus, a few more sexy images:

Supernatural

Executive producer Eric Kripke says that God Himself (or Herself) will enter the apocalyptic battle at some point late in the season, although he's mum on the how and the who's-going-to-play Him (or Her). Until then, it's going to be all-out Armageddon; it's 2014 and the Croation virus has spread across the world, Sarah Palin is president of the United States, and the hunters live in the woods, trying to protect the survivors. Castiel has now been cut off from heaven and as his powers start to fade, he becomes more and more in touch with his humanity — with sometimes funny, sometimes poignant results. As we mentioned before, Ellen, Jo, Rufus, and Chuck will all appear this season, and there's a chance we'll see Papa Winchester as well, but only if Jeffrey Dean Morgan is available. And the nature of Titus Welliver's role has been revealed: he'll be playing one of the muscle-car-driving Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. [TV Guide Magazine]

The Vampire's Assistant

We get a fresh poster with a fresh grave for the Cirque Du Freak movie:

The Blair Witch Sequel

Eduardo Sanchez, who directed the original Blair Witch film, says the sequel will probably be set rough 15 years after the characters in the original film disappeared. [IGN]

The Host 2

This monster movie prequel is an eco-horror take based on the 2003 Cheonggyecheon stream restoration, during which a highway was removed and the river stream left nearly dry. The movie will be set during the 2003 project and will feature multiple monsters, including the fellow below:

[ShockTillYouDrop]

Stargate Universe

In episode 17, "Lost," we will see a young Ronald Greer and his father Reginald in flashbacks. Reginald was once a proud military man, but his service in the Gulf War left him with severe PTSD, and he suffers from both mental and physical illness. He is quiet and frightening, and he mistreats Ronald because he believes that he is preparing him for the cruelties of life. Ronald's mother Angela is, by contrast, strong and loving, and she stays with Reginald because she blames the war for his behavior and believes she is the only person who will care for him. Angela's love also helps Ronald grow into a strong and intense young man, one who single-handedly rescues both of his parents from a burning house. [Spoiler TV]

Fringe

The birthday Walter and company will be celebrating in the season premiere is Peter's. [Fringe Television]

Paul

Seth Rogen just finished filming for Simon Pegg and Nick Frost's Paul, where he plays an alien who befriends two scifi geeks. He wore a motion capture during filming, so even he doesn't know what his alien avatar will look like on screen. [MTV]

FlashForward

Here's the first appearance of Dominic Monaghan's character, Simon:

[Lyly Ford]

Defying Gravity

New promo images come from the eighth episode, "Love, Honor, Obey:"

Superman/Batman: Public Enemies

The latest round of images feature Lex Luthor, who, as President of the United States, declares Superman and Batman enemies of the state and recruits other superheroes to hunt them down. When that fails, Luthor and his classic mecha suit get in on the action:

<![CDATA[Kick-Ass's Music To Molest Your Childhood]]> For anyone who saw the Comic-Con footage of Kick-Ass, the Banana Splits theme song will never be the same. And, according to creator Mark Millar, if things go to plan, that's not the only childhood music they'll punk up.

Talking about the use of music in the movie, Millar told Comic Book Resources,

We're hoping to get other children's soundtrack stuff. You know when Darth Vadar appears in "Star Wars" you always hear the "Doom Doom Doo Doom...Doom Doom Doom"? That's his theme music, and we liked the idea of [kid assassin] Hit Girl – whenever she's killing people, you get punked up versions of children's television shows. So it may be "The Hair Bear Bunch" or "Scooby Doo" or something when she's cutting people's throats. We wanted to get The Killers or somebody to maybe record a punked up version of that so then you've got a great Tarantino-style soundtrack.

Tarantino-style indeed... Am I the only one who thinks this is reminiscent of Kill Bill using the Green Hornet theme version of "Flight of the Bumblebee"?

Later in the same interview, Millar promised more Kick-Ass sooner rather than later:

Inside a couple of volumes, you're maybe going to end up with 15 superheroes out there with superhero teams starting to form. I wanted it to feel organic and maybe like the early Marvel Universe that just starts off with a couple of guys and then gets bigger and bigger. So by the time you get to volume 3, you've got a couple of villain scenes, a couple of hero scenes. That kind of stuff... [I] want to do "Kick-Ass 2" because, my God, the movie's coming out and I'd be stupid not to capitalize on it. Also, it was always planned at three books, so I'm dying to get into the next one.

Kick-Ass, the movie, is due for release Summer 2010. Kick-Ass, the comic, reaches #7 next month.

<![CDATA[American Audiences Are Guaranteed To Get Their Asses Kicked]]> Ultra-violent uber-superhero quasi-parody Kick-Ass will, indeed, be coming to a theater near you next year, now that the movie has been picked up by Lionsgate for US release. Hope they're prepared for the moral outrage headed their way...

The studio is no stranger to controversy, having been responsible for the Saw series, but we're interested to see if mainstream audiences are really going to be prepared for what they'll get in Matthew Vaughan's adaptation of Mark Millar and John Romita Jr.'s Marvel comic, which has been praised for its realism and criticized for potential racism and it's c-word-using ten-year old girl assassin.

Variety describes the deal between Vaughan's Marv Films and Brad Pitt's Plan B - which co-produced and financed the production - and the studio as "big," and noted that Lionsgate plans to offer the movie on wide release next year.

<![CDATA[Kick-Ass Prepares To Kick Studio Ass]]> It wowed fans at Comic-Con, and apparently that wow was enough to make multiple movie studios very interested in picking up the movie adaptation of Mark Millar's ultra-violent comic Kick-Ass. But which studio will end up with the finished movie?

The Hollywood Reporter's Risky Business blog reports that fan reaction to the footage shown at Comic-Con was strong enough to attract sales attention from Lionsgate, Paramount and Universal. Currently, Kick-Ass is without a studio backer, having been financed and produced independently, following director Matthew Vaughan falling out with original studio Sony over potential censorship of the project.

According to THR, studios are expected to pay an amount somewhere in the seven figure region for the rights to release the movie, expected to reach theaters next Summer.

<![CDATA[Which BSG Star Might Join Caprica? Plus Fringe Restarts with a Bloody Bang]]> Today we've got your guides to the Fringe and Chuck season premieres, a few new superheroes from Kick-Ass, and a Caprica casting rumor that will leave you scratching your head. Plus, more from Pandorum, FlashForward, Smallville, V, and Vampire Diaries.

Kick-Ass:

The Kick-Ass trailer from Comic Con is grainy, but offers a look at Red Mist (now with too much hair gel), Big Daddy in costume, and more of Hit Girl's grisly tricks:

Pandorum:

Dennis Quaid describes this movie about astronauts waking up with amnesia:

It's got some graphic violence in it and everything, but it's got a great story and some amazing action. The story, it all makes sense. In a way, there's a little tinkering with evolution going on here.

[Sci Fi Wire]

Caprica:

Reports out of Wizard World Chicago claim that Luciana Carro, who played Louanne "Kat" Katraine on Battlestar Galactica, has been cast in Caprica, but no word on what her role would be, or whether her Caprica character will be related to her BSG character. [Battlestar Blog]

Lost:

In case there was any doubt, Elizabeth Mitchell has confirmed that she'll be back on Lost this season as Juliet:

Yes, I will actually be back on Lost. I can't say whether I'm dead or not, but as in all things in Lost, it'll be fairly tricky.

[SCI FI Wire]

Dollhouse:

The second episode of the second season will be called "Belle Chose." [Spoiler TV]

Fringe:

As we've mentioned, the first episode of the new season starts with a car crash which has a huge impact on one of our heroes. And when Olivia returns from the alternate universe, there's a catch — for one thing, she loses key parts of her memory of those events. Plus she's not the only one to come back through that mysterious doorway. The show's new character, Agent Jessup, provides an entry point for new viewers in the first episodes, since her character's dialogue is sort of like a "Fringe for dummies" crash course. And the episode ends with a crazy J.J. Abrams-style cliffhanger. [TV Addict]

And new set photos show filming inside a train station (and Kirk Acevedo on set):

[Spoiler TV]

V:

Executive producer Jeff Bell says the new series will pay tribute to key scenes including the alien queen eating a hamster:

We would be morons if we didn't find a way to pay homage [to the original]. But if we had her do exactly what was done in the original, been there done that.

Some actors from the original series will also be making cameos in the new show. [Ausiello]

Chuck:

The season premiere is titled "Chuck vs. the Pink Slip," and Zachary Levi will be sporting a full beard, an old t-shirt, a baseball cap, and sunglasses for at least part of the episode. Despite rumors that Sarah would be working at a Subway this season, the Orange Orange set was still in use for the premiere.

We'll still be seeing the Buy More this season, but it won't be the same antics-driven shop as before. Tony Hale's character, Emmett Milbarge, will be running the store with an iron fist, and keeping a video of Joseph Stalin reviewing the troops at the Red Square running on the screens. His office will feature a giant executive chair and a "Buy-Moria" flag, and the newly demoted Big Mike is still stuck on the Buy More floor.

As for the rest of the season, Casey and Sarah will be functioning as Chuck's "senseis," helping him master his new abilities, and we will delve more into the backgrounds of the spies and their twisty backstories. And Casey, who will still be around the Buy More crew, may be getting a love interest.

[Chicago Tribune]

The Chuck cast (including bearded Levi) also say the new season will feature a love "trapezoid:"

FlashForward:

The show's mysteries will continue after we reach April 29, 2009, the date of the flash the world experiences, says executive producer Marc Guggenheim. Also, Seth MacFarlane and Alex Kingston's roles will recur throughout the season, and Gabrielle Union's arc starts with the third episode. [Ausiello]

Defying Gravity:

A brief synopsis has been posted for the sixth episode, "Bacon:"

Some crew members struggle with guilt; a serious accident puts a crew member's life in danger.

[Spoiler TV]

Smallville:

Showrunner Brian Peterson has backpeddled a bit on calling the upcoming season of Smallville "dark:"

We might've misled people a little bit with that. Clark has some very dark decisions to make and he starts the season in a very dark place, but the season itself won't be dark.

We'll also see more romantic moments between Lois and Clark:

In fact, Clark and Lois will be back in each other's orbits and there will be a lot of the fun that we had last year-even more than we had last year.

In episode three, "Rabid," Lois and Clark get closer:

[They are] in the trenches fighting zombies. And when they catch their breath from fighting zombies, [romantic] sparks will fly.

[Ausiello]

Eastwick:

The town of Eastwick may look a mite familiar to fans of Gilmore Girls. The Stars Hollow town square set is being recycled for the show. Coincidence, or attempt to attract subliminal warm fuzzies? Also, Sara Rue's may develop mystical powers down the line. [Ausiello]

Vampire Diaries:

In an interview with IESB, Ian Somerhalder described his character, the less human-friendly Damon as an angry and vengeful person who feels he's been wronged, and is lonely from seeing the people around him die. Somerhalder also says that it won't be long before Damon's discovered in town, and we'll learn about his backstory and the reasons behind his thirst for vengeance quickly enough. [IESB]

And, because someone at CW just won't stop taking pictures of the cast:
