    Will Ferrell used to be funny -- I thought he was great hosting SNL last month -- but something happened.

    Hmmm... I'm hesitant but also somewhat intrigued by your review.


    On the one hand the only reason that I thought that Anchorman was any fun at all was because it was basically non-sequential nonsense. The news channel knife fight for example is what made the movie. It was a live action Family Guy. Not so much for Ferrell.


    This looks a whole hell of a lot more like Bewitched then Anchorman.

    Hmm, I watched almost 45 minutes of "Anchorman", and didn't laugh once. Turned it off and returned the DVD. This comparison does not bode well. I loved the original series, not so much the update in the '90s.


    I want Sleestak on the big screen, but will go find a real cheap show.

    @lunadude: The first time I saw Anchorman, I chuckled a couple times, but overall didn't 'get' it.


    Every subsequent time, I have thought it was genius. Try it again!

    Annalee, even though it obviously wasn't your intent, everything you've written about this film makes it sound absolutely horrific.


    It sounds like a more black-and-white thing. If you like Will Ferrell, you'll like this. I cannot stand this particular shtick of his, and I might opt for an emergency diabetic coma over everything you've (albeit positively) described.


    I really like stupid movies, too.

    @Lassus: well I'll admit I didn't expect to like it. But it was pretty fun. I don't even really like will Ferrell, but somehow it seemed to work. But if my description sounds heinous, then definitely give it a miss.

    @Lassus:
    I was actually thinking that everything she described about it made it sound like you'd absolutely need to be drunk, stoned, asleep, stoned again, lobotomized, dead, and stoned again to enjoy it. Also, accidentally walking into the wrong theater and watching a ten-hour screening of the TV test pattern instead wouldn't hurt.


    My senses are offended enough by the seemingly constant barrage of ads, without actually contributing a single penny to his encouragement fund.
