A huge batch of Life On Mars pics show way more of the gritty new look of the British time-travel show's American remake. Plus some new set pics show Josh Duhamel in action in Transformers 2 and hint at a secret villain in Heroes. Someone has posted iron-clad proof of the identity of the final cylon on Battlestar Galactica. (Not really.) We've got the inside dirt on two cool indie movies: Looper and Moon. Not only that, but there are spoilers for Smallville, Lost, Kyle XY and Sarah Connor Chronicles. (Sorry, no Knight Rider today. Can you survive?) Be prepared, with spoilers!

Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen:

Some new set pics show Josh Duhamel on set. [Movies-Spoilers]

Moon:

Here's how Sam Rockwell describes the plot of the movie he stars in, directed by David Bowie's son:

It's about a guy stranded on the moon for three years, like a Robinson Crusoe kind of guy. He's mining a product called helium 3 on the surface of the moon for fuel for the Earth, an energy source. Then he meets his clone, and they have to deal with each other. So it's sort of an homage to Silent Running and a little Blade Runner, as far as the replicants and stuff. It's like that, but it's a very simple kind of Robinson Crusoe story.

[Sci Fi Wire]

Looper:

The plot description that's been going around for Ryan "Brick" Johnson's third film (it's set in the present day, where hitmen receive their victims from the future) doesn't really convey the whole scope of the movie's plot, and it leaves out the film's biggest hook, says Johnson. [Slashfilm]

Life On Mars:

Here are those new set pics. Looks like Sam still uses Annie as a visual aid in talking about our serial killer's psychology. [SpoilerTV]

Lost:

The show is seeking someone to play a thirtysomething or fortysomething doctor named Evelyn Ariza for the fourth episode of the new season. She's "chief of staff at a hospital. She's attractive with a great bed-side manner but tough and carries her authority well. Not afraid to make difficult decisions..." [SpoilersLost]

Battlestar Galactica:

We haven't run any baseless speculation about the final cylon in ages, so here goes. One fan claims to be absolutely certain the last cylon is Louanne "Kat" Katraine, who died back in season three. She's not in the "Last Supper" picture, she wasn't in the fleet at the end of season four, and she was a lost soul seeking redemption. Case closed! [Battlestar Blog]

And here are the titles of the last batch of episodes, according to producer Mark Verheiden: "Sometimes a Great Notion," "A Disquiet Follows My Soul," "The Oath," "Blood on the Scales," "No Exit," "Deadlock," "Someone to Watch Over Me," "Islanded In A Stream Of Stars," "Daybreak 1," "Daybreak 2," "Daybreak 3". He adds that he's assuming the finale is still a three-parter. [Famous Verheidens Of Filmland via Galactica Sitrep]

Sarah Connor Chronicles:

Here's a creepy clip from Monday's new Terminator episode, with an interview with bad Terminator Garret Dillahunt. [Sarah Connor Society]

Heroes:

So we already showed you some pictures of the new villains from Heroes season three, but now there are descriptions of their superpowers. Jesse Murphy has a super-loud concussive voice with nearly unlimited destructive capabilities, depending on how loud he screams. (Like Postie from the webisodes.) Benjamin Knox gains strength from the fear of the people around him, and can sense fear easily. "The German" can control metal, and Eric Doyle is a "puppetmaster" who can make people do what he wants. Finally, Flint can shoot "blue flames." [Heroes Spoilers]

Also, someone managed to get some snaps of filming for an episode airing in early December. Peter and Nathan are in Haiti, with The Haitian, plus some other Haitians who don't get to be "the" Haitian. They filmed "a jungle scene." More pics at the first link. Meanwhile, producer Jesse Alexander posted a photo of a Haitian wall that shows mysterious new villain Samedi. [Heroes News And Spoilers and Watching Heroes]

Director Greg Beeman ran some photos on his blog, including Hiro impaled with his own sword, Matt Parkman with his throat slit, Micah and Monica looking dead, and a few others. I think we've already shown these pics, or similar ones before. But I could be wrong. In any case, they're here. [Greg Beeman]

How close are Sylar and Elle to making a baby together? Check out this set pic. Or maybe Sylar is just trying out for a Grease revival, and Elle is lending him moral support. More pics at the link. [PurePeople via Mars Investigations]

And here are a couple more promos, showing the new villains in action and Sylar and HRG being partners. [Heroes Spoilers]

Smallville:

The New York Post interviewed Lois Lane actor Erica Durance, who expanded on some spoilers we've already reported. Like in the upcoming episode where Jimmy Olsen gets a photo of Clark in the act of saving someone, Clark outwits Jimmy. But afterwards Lois throws down the gauntlet and announces that she's going to track down that red-and-blue-wearing mystery man, if it's the last thing she does.

And in the third episode of the season, when Oliver gets poisoned, Lois has to confront the fact that he might die — even though she's realized he's not right for her, it still churns up her feelings again. And in another episode, Lois and Clark go undercover as an engaged couple, and she gets to make him squirm. But then later, she's forced to confess feelings for Clark that she didn't even know she had until that moment, under duress — and then it's her turn to squirm. [NY Post]

Durance also talked to Zap2It and said Lois starts out thinking Clark is dim-witted and she needs to help him out, but then something changes. (She realizes how dim-witted he really is?) And after Lois deals with her feelings for the maybe-dying Oliver, she has a talk with Clark and he tells her about his experience with Lana. Also, she hints that Lois may actually get a superpower — she'll be able to channel all her "anger and angst" and use them to throw people around. [Zap2It]

Not enough Erica Durance interviews for you? Then try this. [CWSource]

And here's Tess Mercer actor Cassidy Freeman, revealing that she doesn't have any scenes with Doomsday so far. [BuddyTV]

Kyle XY:

Yay! Here are a couple of new teasers for Kyle XY season three:

<![CDATA[ Meet The 2 Scary Guys Who Cause Mayhem In Lost Season 5 ]]> Some new leaks supposedly explain why Shia LaBoeuf is acting so wacky in Transformers 2. And a Lost callsheet explains something scary that happens to one of your favorite characters next season. And there are revealing new images from Life On Mars, Sarah Connor and Heroes. We also got a glimpse of a script to an upcoming Stargate episode, some new videos of Kyle XY and Fringe, and some Smallville hints. Spoiler madness is contagious!

Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen:

An anonymous source has fed a few new bits of Transformers 2 info to fansite Seibertron. In particular, Shia's craziness is linked to the Allspark — it has enough energy to transform a soda machine, so just think what it could do to a living being exposed to it. Also, every Transformer has a symbol on it, and these were referred to as "glyphs" in the first movie. They may have something to do with the mysterious pyramid fans heard about at Dreamworks studios. Also, that ice cream truck is not "the twins." [Seibertron]

Life On Mars:

Here's a new cast pic. [SpoilerTV]

Lost:

Another casting call introduces you to a batch of characters you'll be meeting in January. There's Solanga, a Filipino male in his 50s, who's the village doctor in a small rural community. He has some vices, but also has some medical skills. And he speaks "relatively good English with an accent." Then there's a male Janitor at a school, in his 40s or 50s. A working-class Brit, he's a nosy rumor monger who knows everybody's business.

Another working-class Brit is the thirty-something Abigail, a deeply wounded stoic who indulges in sarcasm but is a "loyal caregiver at heart." And finally, there's another thirtysomething Brit, the pretty blonde Theresa, who suffers from dementia but also has lucid moments. (And I'm guessing Abigail is caring for Theresa.) [Doc Arzt]

Meanwhile, an enterprising fan managed to sneak a look at the call sheet for that sequence that was filmed the other day, where armed guys chase Locke and Alpert. In a nutshell, the armed guys are Egyptians, named Bomani and Asim, and Alpert manages to elude them by hiding in a special hiding place, an area they're afraid of. Locke climbs a tree and gets shot, and then they take him prisoner while Alpert watches from a distance. Apparently Asim is in a few episodes. [Lost Spoilers]

Eleventh Hour:

The fifth element of Jerry Bruckheimer's stop-the-science-nowz show is called "Containment," and a casting call has gone out for a Guatemalan girl who works in a freezer plant factory and speaks a particular Mayan dialect from Guatemala. [SpoilerTV]

Sarah Connor Chronicles:

Here's a new poster that hints at just how badly Summer Glau's Terminator gets messed up. [SpoilerTV]

Heroes:

Here are some more Heroes promo posters, some of which you've seen before but these are better quality. Plus a new promo pic of Ali Larter as "Tracy," trying to exert her powers on a flower. [Heroes The Series and Heroes Spoilers]

Here's a new promo that includes a few bits of new footage including Future Peter saying it never would have been like this if people hadn't known about "us." [Watching Heroes]

Smallville:

Televisionista gives a few more details about the Smallville premiere. Searching for Clark, the mini-Justice League goes to the Arctic, where they have a confrontation with Tess, Lex's replacement. Then they track Clark to the Russian work camp where he's powerless. Turns out Clark's powers have been stripped away by Jor-El. And Chloe is being held prisoner by a mysterious group that has discovered she has a new superpower. [Televisionista]

Also, in episode 8, "Bloodline," Lois finds herself in an unexpected situation that she's never been in before — and it's not a romantic situation. And in episode 9, "Abyss," the friendship of Clark and Chloe gets explored, and there are flashbacks going as far back as the first time she visited Clark's "Amish" barn. Only four of the show's eight regulars will be in this episode. And episode 10 is probably the Chloe-Jimmy wedding. [KryptonSite]

Kyle XY:

Here's a brief teaser for the third season of the superteen show, plus a copy of the preview footage shown at Comic-Con. [SpoilerTV]

Fringe:

Are you stoked for J.J. Abrams' stop-the-science-nowz show? Here's a new trailer. [SpoilerTV]

Stargate Atlantis:

A couple of script pages from the 19th episode of the season, "Vegas," have turned up. They show a Wraith playing cards with a human and using telepathy to cheat, and then Sheppard shows up and sits down at the table, and the Wraith takes off. [SpoilerTV]

Meanwhile, Maj. Paul Davis of the Pentagon will be showing up in the final Atlantis episode, "Enemy At The Gate." Fans speculate the episode will involve the nemesis introduced in the season five two-parter, "First Contact" and "The Lost Tribe." [Gateworld]

<![CDATA[ Optimus Prime Has A Hot New Attitude In Transformers 2 ]]> Salutations and spoilers! Transformers 2 has been filming some big vehicle stunts again, and some cool photos of Optimus Prime have turned up online. Also, the writers of Star Trek dropped more maddeningly vague hints about how the movie relates to the original TV show's continuity. And that Battlestar Galactica TV movie now has a name, which may tell you something. We find out the truth about a recent shocking development on Eureka. There are some script pages for the Sarah Connor Chronicles, and new tidbits about Fringe, Heroes, Kyle XY, Smallville and Knight Rider. Spoilers and felicitations to you!

Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen:

Transformers 2 has been filming in Long Beach, which is standing in for China (just like Pennsylvania did a while back.) Cars on set included Bumblebee, Optimus Prime, Ironhide, the silver Corvette and two small blue cars. In one stunt, a bunch of vehicles are driving down the street and two flatbed trucks are supposed to explode. (Although, due to an error, only one actually blew up.) And here are a bunch of pics, including Ironhide under wraps, Optimus under wraps and driving at night, Chinese police cars, a trashed taxi, a car with tons of luggage on top, a moving truck, and street signs. Tons more photos at the links, check them out. [Set report from Transformers Movie Chronicles. Pics from MyLordSinuhe and fq9 and djlakihu, via RopeofSilicon]

Star Trek:

More vague hints that the new Trek movie may create a divergent timeline due to Spock and the Romulans time traveling. Says co-writer Alex Kurtzman: "Our version of Star Trek is not exactly a prequel. It is in some ways, and you'll have to see it to label it exactly." He also says he was amazed that nobody ever thought to tell the story of how the Enterprise crew first came together. And the thing that drove the movie, for him and Roberto Orci, was thinking about that bridge crew and their relationships. [Newsarama]

Battlestar Galactica:

Another tidbit of information about the new BSG TV movie, filming in September. Apparently the title is: "The Plan." Presumably, as in, "The Cylons have a." [13th Colony]

Fringe:

Even if you've already seen the leaked Fringe pilot, maybe you'll learn something from this new Associated Press featurette about the show:

And in case you haven't seen the pilot, because you're a good viewer who waits for things to air officially, then here's a short clip. [Fringe Bloggers]

Sarah Connor Chronicles:

Here's an interview with Richard T. Jones, who plays former FBI agent Ellison. Turns out he loses his job because he can't explain what happened to his men. And eventually Ellison will get some "screen time" with Sarah, but not any time soon.

Also , a couple of script pages have turned up for auditions for a character named Baldwin, who appears in episode 9, "The Beast In Me." The pages don't look like actual script pages, but you never know. Baldwin is a guy who's supposed to be doing seismic retrofitting at a secure building. He's being interrogated because he supposedly entered the building at 4:16 in the morning two nights ago, and installed a "roving backdoor" in the computer system, which allows someone to access all military/industrial complex computer systems. Baldwin swears it wasn't him but can't explain how someone got in using his access codes. And then the interrogator notices Baldwin looks pretty banged up. [Spoiler TV]

Smallville:

Here are some new pics from the season premiere of Smallville, showing how messed up Clark gets in that gulag he winds up in. [Kryptonsite]

There's also a new press release that mostly regurgitates old info, but does include a few paragraphs of new stuff:

Season eight begins a few weeks after the Fortress' icy collapse, as a LuthorCorp arctic excavation team investigates Lex's whereabouts. Members of the Justice League reunite in the search for Clark, who has been rendered powerless by the fall of the Fortress. As the season unfolds, Clark's new position at the Daily Planet will mean working across the desk from Lois. The two will be forced to team up to cover Metropolis' most pressing goings on. Sometimes it's Lois herself who becomes Clark's biggest obstacle, especially when he's on a deadline. But with Clark and Lois thrust into such close proximity, sparks are bound to fly, and feelings will start to surface that come as a surprise to both of them. At the same time, Clark begins to discover the balancing act he must perform as he explores his dual identities as both reporter and superhero.

Even with Lex gone, the Luthor mansion isn't vacant for long. Its newest resident is the beguiling Tess Mercer (Freeman), who, according to Lex's written instructions, has been placed in charge of LuthorCorp and all of its projects, including oversight of the Daily Planet. Tess proves to be as inscrutable as she is cunning, and is an enigmatic new presence in everyone's lives. It won't be long before Tess' attention turns to Clark. But Clark is wary of her intentions, and as the layers of her past are peeled away, new mysteries surface. Through it all, Tess' resolve remains unshakable – to find Lex Luthor, as she is convinced he is still alive.

Clark isn't the only one who will face formidable challenges. Oliver Queen (Hartley) returns to make Metropolis his home. He finds himself at a crossroads, forced to travel through some dark terrain – especially when demons from his past are reawakened. Oliver ultimately begins to question his role as a superhero, just as Clark is embracing his own.

With a new fiancé and puzzling new abilities that intrigue her as much as they frighten her, Chloe decides to turn her attention toward helping others. She takes over where Lana left off and reopens the Isis Foundation to provide counseling for those with meteor-powered abilities. She soon finds just how tricky the meteor-powered can be. Chloe's life is further complicated when she meets Metropolis paramedic Davis Bloome (Witwer). A tireless public servant, Bloome strikes up a fast friendship with Chloe. Soulful and mysterious, Bloome has demons of his own. He's troubled by large gaps of time that he can't remember, and as he comes closer to the answers, he must confront his own worst fear – that at his core he is pure evil.

I'm glad somebody is going to be helping the people who got their powers from meteor-laced chewing gum. [Smallville Spoilers]

Kyle XY:

Am I the only person dying to see more of the adventures of the dorky superpowered teenager? Anyway, apparently the new season picks up right where the last one left off, with Amanda going missing at the prom. And Kyle starts to realize Amanda may not be safe in his life. This creates an opening for someone or other, because Kyle has a new flame by the end of the season. (Which better not be Jessi, because eww. Too much like dating your cousin.) [TV Guide]

Eureka:

Is Stark really dead on Eureka? Yes. It's not a trick. But anything is possible in Eureka. And even though Stark's death resolves the Carter-Allison-Stark triangle, new characters will come along to upset the show's dynamics in new ways. And apparently the plural of "dynamics" is important. [TV Guide again]

Also, here's a synopsis for episode 6, "Phased and Confused":

The emergence of a superhero makes Carter's job more difficult; Thorne's subterranean search for a secret beneath Eureka imperils Zoe and her friends.

[Spoiler TV]

Heroes:

And here's another new Heroes trailer, nearly two minutes of footage including some plot twists we haven't seen before. Nothing too shocking if you've already seen the first episode, but otherwise pretty intriguing:

And here's a new promo image of Nathan. Looks like his hair has improved drastically since the end of season two's weird ducktail. [Heroes Spoilers]

Knight Rider:

Maybe you'd be more excited about Knight Rider if you knew for sure there would be hard science? Well then here ya go. Buddy TV has an interview with the guy who plays the show's main science geek, Paul Campbell. [BuddyTV]

And here are a few new promo pics. [SpoilerTV]

<![CDATA[ Kyle XY's New Season To Be Blinded With Science ]]> Kyle XY is back in January, and we got the goods on the next season straight from the super genius' mouth. Where does the new season start? What about Kyle's love life? Are we ever going to learn more about the Mada Corporation? Matt Dallas let's io9 into Kyle's mind, and lets us know what's on his plate for the latest season. Apparently this season is going to get heavy into the science, but still leave some room for love.

<![CDATA[ The Motherlode Of Chuck Spoilers, Plus A New Outlander Trailer ]]> We managed to score a ton of script pages from the upcoming season of nerd-spy show Chuck, and we're summarizing them in depth, all in the name of spoiler pride. We also have new spoilers about the ending of The Dark Knight, and a second trailer for Viking/alien throwdown movie Outlander. And there are new hints about Star Trek, Transformers 2 and Watchmen. We found out more about what to expect from Heroes, Kyle XY, The Middleman, Sarah Connor Chronicles and the American Life On Mars. Plus our craziest Doctor Who rumors yet. Stand up (or rather, sit down) for spoiler pride!

Star Trek:

Star Trek director J.J. Abrams was willing to reveal a few scraps of info about his film. The sequences featuring baby Spock and kid Kirk are not "flashbacks." And Leonard Nimoy is a major presence in the film. [Coming Soon]

Outlander:

Are you excited about Outlander, the Vikings vs. alien monster movie, yet? How about if we show you a second trailer, featuring a voice-over narration from Sophia (Doctor Who) Myles? How now?

Watchmen:

As we've reported before, the movie of Alan Moore's celebrated Watchmen graphic novel remains the same as the original, squid and all. [MTV Movies]

Transformers 2:

In Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen, as we mentioned before, Megan Fox's character Mikaela is left behind in L.A. when Sam Witwicky goes off to college. But the two do finally reunite. And there are some hair-raising scenes where they're zooming along in Bumblebee, and he's going 120 miles per hour without anyone driving him, and with no seatbelts. [Sci Fi Wire]

The Dark Knight:

World's most minor spoiler: good cop Jim Gordon has a daughter who looks about eight or nine years old in the new Batman movie, and she has a creepy encounter with a supervillain. Could she be Barbara Gordon, fated to become Batgirl? Nobody's saying, probably because that's an issue for the ninth or tenth movie in the series. [MTV Movies]

Also, here are even more message-board spoilers. The Joker pretends to kill Rachel in an explosion, but instead he ties her up and burns her to death. (It's mostly off-camera.) The Joker kills a ton of mobsters and cops in gruesome ways, and there's a broadcast of him torturing a fake Batman to death which is pretty horrifying. You think the Joker is going to die, but then he survives. But Harvey/Two-Face does die at the end. [Agony Booth]

Heroes:

Volume III of Heroes would have focused on the actual villains of the show if the writers' strike hadn't happened, but the retooled version this fall will be much more about the good guys facing the temptation of their powers. And romance. There'll be lots of romance. And weird murals. And a turtle. And when Adam/Kensei comes back from being buried in that coffin, he'll be pretty pissed at Hiro. [TV Guide]

Life On Mars:

Some changes to the American version of the British cult hit Life On Mars. The time-traveling cop will be in New York, not Los Angeles as in the earlier U.S. pilot. And whereas the earlier pilot made it very clear that Sam is actually in a coma, and not really transported back to the 1970s, the new version will be much murkier. It'll get more mysterious and confusing as to what's really going on with Sam, in each passing episode. (Although it will eventually make sense, promise the producers, who worked on Alias and are aware of the perils of too much confusion.) [TV Guide again]

Doctor Who:

Yes, it's true. There will be Doctor Who spoilers every day between now and Christmas, when the British time-travel programme actually returns. Today, some crazy rumors about the 2009 one-off specials. One of the Doctor's companions will be a "heroic cyberman" (named five of eight perhaps?). One of the special episodes will take place entirely within the TARDIS, so we'll finally see the massive scope of the Doctor's craft. And we're not done with the Time War, by any means. [Veidt.com]

Chuck:

So we were lucky enough to dig up some actual script pages from the fifth and sixth episodes of the new season of spy-database-brain comedy Chuck. They're "casting sides," which means they're for audition purposes. But they appear to be actual pages from the scripts.

In the fifth episode, we start off in 1983, where Jeff Barnes, sporting a mullet and mustache, has just won the Moto Industries Missile Command championship. He's asked what's next for him. Flanked by two bikini babes, he says: Why decide, when I've got so many tasty options? Then it's 25 years later, and he's working at the Buy More, wistfully muttering to himself about his "tasty options."

Some terrorists have taken over Moto Industries. Casey and Chuck show up to infiltrate the place, and Chuck tries to use his nerd skills to talk his way in with the geeks up front. But the PhDs at Moto Industries are not impressed with Chuck's paltry nerd-fu. "Why don't you help some old lady log onto AOL or something?" So Sarah has to go in and flash some cleavage to get the nerds' attention. The nerds fall all over each other to help fix her computer. Meanwhile, Casey decides to sneak around, leaving Chuck where it's safe — but as soon as Casey's gone, a terrorist turns up. But Chuck talks his way into Mauro Moto's penthouse.

A Moto Industries satellite is going to destroy everything unless Chuck can get the control codes, which can only be found on the last level of every Missile Command game, as we explained before. Maury Moto explains that the mathematics underlying Missile Command are too complex for anyone else to reach that level: "the music of the universe." "As much as I loved making games, I hated making weapons," he adds. The terrorists have forced Maury to play Missile Command, so they can access those codes. "How many will die for my weakness?" he asks. But Maury has to keep playing the game, or it'll explode. "The kill screen doesn't end," he explains. So Chuck and Casey have to escape, leaving Maury to explode.

Casey mistakenly believes that anybody who was into Missile Command would now be in their 30s and have jobs, wives and kids, but Chuck mouths: "No they don't." Meanwhile, he sees a TV broadcast about someone trying to beat the Missile Command high-score record, and "flashes" on the information. He realizes the terrorists are using the local TV station to control the satellite. Sarah heads over there.

Jeff explains the secret of Missile Command is "all about patterns. Heavy duty math. Before I play, I like to listen to Rush, and when I listen to Rush, I like to partake of a certain 100% natural, but not altogether legal, herbal enhancer... It's gotta be outta this world." Meanwhile, literally out of this world, the satellite is preparing to strike. Morgan is jealous of all the attention Chuck is paying to Jeff. It turns out Rush's music follows the exact same time signature as the game. And Rush's sheet music is in the "intersect," the spy database in Chuck's head. Because they're Canadian.

But Morgan gets over his jealousy enough to announce Chuck on-stage, with flashing lights, as "the King Of Sting, the Dancing Destroyer," etc. Chuck jumps up on stage and brandishes a single quarter. Chuck loses the first time, to the amusement of a crowd of jeering nerds who call him "king of the losers." But then he gets Morgan to play some Rush, and this time he beats the game, reaching the "kill screen" and then "beating the kill screen," finally getting to the satellite codes.

Meanwhile, Sarah takes out two terrorists holding the TV relay station, catching one unawares with a bag of chips in his mouth. She catches both their machine guns and brandishes them. Chuck gets her the codes just in time to stop the countdown, as Casey is preparing to try and shoot the satellite down.

And then episode six starts off with a flashback to 2003, with Chuck wearing a slightly different version of the Buy More uniform. He's at a Tri Delt sorority party at Stanford, and people are whispering about how he got kicked out for "stealing." He insists he didn't cheat. Then he throws a pebble at his ex-girlfriend Jill's window. Her bitchy friend Shari opens the window and says that if Jill wanted to talk to Chuck, she would have answered his 28 phone calls. Chuck says it's only 20 phone calls, because for eight of them, he hung up before her voice mail picked up.

A bunch of frat guys gather around, and it's getting embarrassing. Chuck says he drove 346 miles on his break from his purely temporary job because he loves Liz. She finally pokes her head out and says "it's over." Chuck hopes she means the public conversation is over, to be replaced with a private chat at Starbucks. But no. She's dating Bryce Larkin now. "Deal with it," says Shari.

In the present day, Chuck is in a hotel conference center, when he spots Jill. He hides under the desk, and begs the hotel clerk to pull the fire alarm as a distraction, so he can get away. Then Jill walks up and asks for help setting up her computer. The hotel clerk gives up Chuck's location.

Chuck takes Jill out for a stroll and a fancy dinner, where everybody else in the restaurant is CIA. Casey is the maitre d', and this gives Chuck a chance to act like a big shot, giving Casey a rolled up dollar bill and patting his cheek. Sarah is the waitress. Just when Chuck is trying to convince Jill he's a big shot now, the rest of his Nerd Herd coworkers show up. He tries to pretend they're his ex-coworkers who just won't let go. Then a valet shows up with a Ferrari, and Chuck tries to pretend its his. Lester bursts his bubble: "He makes eleven dollars an hour at the Buy More. Do the math."

Some time after that, Chuck is standing outside the door of Jill's hotel room, giving a long speech about his life, and the fact that he rented a car he couldn't drive, because of the transmission, and his ability to quote movies, and the fact that he still hasn't gotten over Jill. A middle aged woman across the hall is quite impressed and tells Chuck she has a bubble bath running. Chuck says he'll play this hand out first. Then Jill opens the door and asks if it's really true that Chuck hasn't gotten over her. He says yes and she invites him in. Casey and Sarah are watching the hotel room, and Casey owes Sarah ten bucks.

Later, Chuck listens in on Jill's phone line in the spy van, and hears Jill talking to her bitchy friend Shari about how Chuck came to her hotel room to apologize, and she let him in. He's like a cute puppy that she couldn't turn away. Shari says Chuck is a loser who only makes $10 an hour, and Chuck can't resist piping up to say he actually makes $10.75. Jill is like, "Why are you on my phone line, Chuck?" Chuck tries to pass it off: "I just tried to call, I guess our wires got crossed. Is this a party line?"

Chuck spots an assassin named Fox Den getting into an elevator, and Casey and Sarah follow. It turns out the assassin is really named Rommell, and he kills someone named Guy Lafleur.

Sarah has to give a talk on toxicology at a scientific conference, pretending to be an Australian scientist named Dr. Eva Anderson. She stalls, talking about how great the buffet was. Meanwhile, a man named Rommell pulls out a vial of deadly virus, with a thin membrane covering it. The membrane starts smoking away. Casey thinks it's a wet dog, then realizes: "The virus has been released. Don't inhale!"

They find Rommell, who tells them he's really CIA and the mission is much more complex than they could have realized. Then Chuck runs up and announces that he's their only hope for survival. "Just when I thought things couldn't get worse," Casey gripes. [Casting sides]

Meanwhile, here's a new promo photo from the upcoming episode where Chuck goes to Sarah's 10th high school reunion. And here's a brief new clip about Nicole Richie appearing on the show, which includes a tiny amount of new footage. [Chuck Online]

In an upcoming episode, Casey answers a knock at the door from a man dressed in a FedEx uniform who gives the correct passcode. But then the man surprises Casey and leaves him coughing up blood. The man's partner tells him they have two more targets, and shows pictures of Chuck and Sarah. [TV Remote]

Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles:

John Connor flips over a car, says star Thomas Dekker. And something happens to John in the first episode to harden him, and he becomes more of a bad-ass out of rage. Also, if you care about his feelings on Hayden Panettiere's love life, he addresses that issue. [EW]

The Middleman:

Wendy has to put on high heels and pearls to go undercover at Omega Theta Nu sorority house, going against all of her moral fibers to track down a ghostly apparition. But she begins to suspect something other than a haunted sorority house is going on. Meanwhile, Tyler, the cute guy who lost his memory after the Lucha Libre attack, comes looking for the soulmate he met that day. But he mistakenly thinks it's Lacey, Wendy's roommate. [SpoilerTV]

Kyle XY:

Ally Sheedy's super-mom character will appear in the season opener of ABC Family's show about a teen with strange abilities. But then you probably won't see her again until the season finale. [TV Guide again]

<![CDATA[ First Pics Of Battlestar Galactica's Cool Prequel Caprica ]]> It's mostly TV spoilers today, thanks to a ton of scans from TV Guide. But today's spoilers do include some new set pics from the Battlestar Galactica prequel Caprica, which reveal what it would be like to live on Caprica some 50-70 years before the Cylon apocalypse. And there's one more new Dark Knight trailer with some new splodey footage. There are new Heroes promos and some hints about Lost, plus tons of spoilers for Sarah Connor Chronicles, Stargate, Smallville, Kyle XY, Knight Rider and Fringe. Spoilers rule!

The Dark Knight:

Here's another Dark Knight trailer that includes a teeny amount of new footage, including the Joker with a rocket-launcher (I think that's new) and one new Joker-ism: "When the chips are down, these civilized people will eat each other alive." (I think it may have been quoted in articles before, not sure.)

Battlestar Galactica:

The reveal of Battlestar Galactica's final Cylon will feel organic, and he/she won't be some "day player from season one," promises a Sci Fi Channel exec. Meanwhile, here are the first two photos from the BSG prequel Caprica, which turns out to have a 1950s look and feel to it. Look at the outfits lawyer Joseph Adama and ubergeek Daniel Graystone are wearing. And then check out the diner, serving real Caprican and Gemenese food. Just like mama used to make. Also, there are some pics of the Athena Academy, where the Adama and Graystone daughters go to school. [Galactica Sitrep and The 13th Colony]

Also, there are more pics from the filming of that scene featuring President Roslin in what looked like Caprica. She actually walks into the (disgusting) pool and under the specialy added fountain. [Paulman]

Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles:

As you may have guessed, Summer Glau's Terminateen survived being blowed up at the end of the first season of Sarah Connor Chronicles. But she won't emerge unscathed, and Sarah, John and uncle Derek have to repair her. Plus there's a car flip, auto mayhem, lots of flames and and crazy stunts, according to TV Guide. Meanwhile the software exec that Shirley Manson plays may be involved in the creation of Skynet. And Uncle Derek starts discovering the pleasures of a pre-apocalyptic world, but he won't have any romance with Sarah. Plus, this season is all about the mission of preventing Judgment Day. And here's a new promo. [Spoiler TV]

Lost:

Jack's dead dad Christian and Penny's dad Charles Widmore will both be back as recurring characters in Lost season five. And there's talk that they may be series regulars in the show's final season. This may be because Widmore wants the island's magical-ish properties to stave off his own impending death, or because the ghostly Christian is clinging to half-life. Jack may have to end up convincing his dad and half-sister Claire to move on. [EW]

The Middleman:

In the Aug. 11 episode of superhero show The Middleman, the one where Kevin Sorbo shows up as a cryogenically frozen sexist 1960s Middleman, star Natalie Morales wears a white bikini. But her character, Wendy, doesn't have any romantic tension with the regular Middleman until at least season five. There will be sex in an upcoming episode, however. [SpoilerTV again]

Kyle XY:

I'm so bummed this teen-superhuman family drama isn't coming back this summer. It's an acquired taste, but actually pretty awesome once you check it out. When season three finally does start, we learn that mad-science group Latnok kidnapped Kyle's girlfriend Amanda, and he has to rescue her and try to shut Latnok down. In the process, Amanda may learn that Kyle's a superhero, and in general his secrets will start unraveling. Kyle may have to give up Amanda and his host family to become the person he needs to be, especially once he learns what Latnok chief Michael Cassidy has planned for him. [SpoilerTV]

Knight Rider:

The supercar show Knight Rider is back this fall after a successful TV movie, and there will be more smart car tricks. KITT's windshield turns into a touchscreen you can interact with while driving 300 miles per hour. We'll learn about Mike Tracer's past as an Iraq War veteran, and meet some new characters including techie Billy Morgan (Paul Campbell from Battlestar Galactica). Instead of ad-hoc calls for help, the gang will be pulling off missions as a team... just like on last year's Bionic Woman remake. [Spoiler TV yet again]

Heroes:

Here are a couple of new Heroes promos which show Mama Petrelli being very sweet to a bound Sylar. And Ali Larter in a sexy Playboy bunny-ish outfit. [Heroes The Series]

Smallville:

Oliver Queen, aka Green Arrow, turns out to have a surprising connection to Tess Mercer, the new CEO of Lex Luthor's company and the absent Lex's devoted acolyte. [Spoilergeeks]

Also, next season will feature a Chloe/Jimmy/Doomsday love triangle, in which the non-serial killer guy will win out in the end. Also, there will be a lot more comedy, as Lois and Clark get into wacky scrapes. Wacky! [EW]

Eureka:

That corporate fixer we mentioned who comes to the town of Eureka, Eva Thorne? Turns out she's there because the belt-tightening Global Dynamics is turning to making household gadgets for profit. She's nicknamed the Fixer and has some secrets about the founding of the super-smart town. Also, as we mentioned, Sheriff Carter's free-spirited sister shows up and is a bad influence on his daughter. There'll also be some three-way drama between the Sheriff, Allison and her ex Nathan Stark. Meanwhile, Carter has a new love interest on the way. Plus there'll be a contest to design the most flea-ridden dog, a drone who acts like a rebellious teen, and a "hapless superhero." [Spoiler TV again]

Stargate:

A few new Stargate Atlantis season five spoilers. The dying clone Dr. Carson Beckett gets thawed out to fight a deadly plague. SG-1's Daniel Jackson teams up with Rodney McKay to solve a mystery, Hardy Boys-style. And the Vegas episode (the hundredth?) finds Lt. Col. John Sheppard in the midst of a CSI-type investigation. [SpoilerTV]

Plus there are a few new pages of leaked script from SGA episode 15, "Remnants." They're pretty much as we described before. Commander Woolsey flirts awkwardly with Vanessa Conrad, a woman who turns out not to exist. (Including mentioning "Yahtzee.") Meanwhile, Sheppard gets tied up in the forest and has a run in with the evil Kolya.

Just when Woolsey starts to doubt himself and wonder if he's under an outside influence, Vanessa explains she's "the manifestation of your subconscious romantic and sexual ideals... You're not crazy. You're really seeing me." Meanwhile, "Kolya" explains to Sheppard that he was just distracting him, and it's the masochistic Sheppard's fault his mind went to the most horrendous situation possible.

They both explain that the race known as the Sekkari foresaw its own extinction tens of thousands of years ago, and launched over 50 genetic and cultural seed-carriers, equipped with subspace communicators. All 50 of them failed, and Conrad's unit malfunctioned after surviving reentry. Since the SGA crew woke the unit up, she's been studying Woolsey to figure out if he can help complete the seed carrier's mission. Now that Woolsey knows the truth, he has a decision to make. <![CDATA[ Secrets Of The Joker's Scruples And Wall-E's Weird Humans ]]> An early review of the Batman film The Dark Knight includes a bushel of new spoilers — including the one person the Joker can't kill. Also, a new interview and featurette give new insights into what's ailing the human race in Wall-E's dystopian future. And a crucial character you haven't seen in the Star Wars: Clone Wars trailers will be putting in an appearance after all. There's also a new Doctor Who clip showing a host of returning characters, and some incredibly minor Transformers 2 news. Plus what to expect from The Middleman, Kyle XY, Chuck, Stargate: Atlantis and Battlestar Galactica.

WALL-E:

A new interview with WALL-E director Andrew Stanton includes some new spoilers. In the film, humanity has gotten so pampered that people are totally disconnected from each other, using technology all the time and avoiding personal encounters. Says Stanton:

I thought, what if technology got so advanced that everything that makes us have to get up and survive has been figured out—longevity, health, food. So all you're doing is living in a perpetual vacation for all life with not point of living. So I thought that perfectly put humanity in a state where it would only help WALL*E look like he's the only person or the only thing truly living in the universe.

In an earlier draft of the script, humans were just huge see-through non-speaking blobs due to bone-loss, but then Stanton ended up with a "big baby" look instead. [Ain't It Cool News]

And here's a new WALL-E featurette that includes a smidgen of new footage:

The Dark Knight:

Rolling Stone posted an early review of The Dark Knight (it rules) and included a few spoilers. When the movie starts, Bruce Wayne is fed up with being Batman, especially since the public thinks he's a vigilante. He's happy to leave the crime-fighting stuff to District Attorney Harvey Dent, whom he's trying to keep from moving in on his girl, Rachel Dawes. Bruce's butler Alfred harbors a secret that could crush Bruce's spirit. And Lucius Fox finds his own standards being compromised.

The Joker tells Batman: "I don't want to kill you. You complete me." And he means it. The Joker prefers to kill using a knife, so he can savor the moment. And (as you may have seen in the trailers) he says "Whatever doesn't kill you makes you stranger." Another Jokerism: "I choose chaos." The Joker wants Batman to choose chaos as well. (Shades of The Killing Joke, where the Joker tries to drive Jim Gordon as crazy as he is. And in fact, in Dark Knight, the Joker targets Gordon because he's the ultimate good cop.)

And finally, a brutal death is what pushes Harvey Dent over the edge into becoming Two-Face. (Does anybody think this death isn't Rachel's? Who else could it be: Commissioner Loeb?) [Rolling Stone]

Star Wars: Clone Wars:

IGN has a few details about the Star Wars: Clone Wars animated series, which debuts as a movie this August before moving to the Cartoon Network. As you may have gathered, gangster Jabba the Hutt threatens to launch a clan war against the Jedi unless they get his kidnapped son back. Also, Anakin Skywalker's squeeze Padme will show up. Also, it's explained that Asajj Ventress didn't die during her showdown with Anakin in the previous Clone Wars animated series — she was just badly injured. But she got better. The new series includes a tentacled spaceship that "swims" through space. Oh, and the film includes some smoking, according to the ratings board. [IGN]

Transformers 2:

Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen may include a cameo by Beetlejuice, aka Lester Green, a regular on the Howard Stern Show. And comedian Kim Whitley also has a small role. [Ain't It Cool News and IESB]

Doctor Who:

Here's another clip from Saturday's episode of time-travel action comedy Doctor Who, showing what happens when the Dalek fleet aproaches Earth and all the Doctor's old crew start picking up a scary message:

Also, you'll be shocked to hear that ageless rogue Captain Jack hits on Sarah Jane Smith, the Doctor's sexiest ex-companion. Not only that, but they hold hands when they first meet Davros. Aw! Actually, I wonder if there's a moment that acknowledges hat Sarah Jane knew Davros back when he was young and sorta cute. And meanwhile, this season's final two-parter may be Sarah Jane's final meeting with the Doctor, says actor Elisabeth Sladen. [Doctor Who Magazine via Doctor Who Online]

Battlestar Galactica:

Battlestar Galactica producer David Weddle, who co-wrote the midseason finale, seems to think they found Earth, judging from a new interview. Also, there's more talk of Ron Moore's series finale being split into two or even three episodes. The Sci Fi Channel confirms the episode has overrun its time constraints, and they're evaluating different options. [SyFyPortal]

Chuck:

Some more info on a couple of guest-stars that we'd mentioned for Chuck season two. First, remember that storyline about the jocks from the sporting goods store who turn the home theater dept. at Buy More into their own personal lunch/game room, until Morgan has to go confront them? Turns out Super Bowl champion Michael Strahan plays Mitt, the sporting-goods store manager, and he did such a great job he may become a recurring character.

And then there's the former high school classmate of Sarah's who spills some of her secrets. She'll be played by Nicole Ritchie, and she's a "snarky and spiteful girl" who tortured Sarah in high school. According to People Magazine, Sarah "must face her fears when she's forced to attend her high-school reunion" on a mission with Chuck as her date. Nicole will be "diabolically evil and kick some butt." [Chuck TV]

Kyle XY:

Am I the only person who was crushed that superpowered teen show Kyle XY didn't come back for the summer? In any case, season three (which starts in January) picks up right where season two left off, at the prom. (And it's only planned as 10 episodes right now.) [TV Guide]

Stargate Atlantis:

The 100th episode of Stargate: Atlantis may take place in Vegas, as rumored, and may explore "the best of both worlds — or galaxies as the case may be." (Borg reference? We'll see.) [TV Guide again]

The Middleman:

In the July 7 episode of ABC Family's superhero show The Middleman, a rich socialite goes missing, and the Middleman and Wendy investigate the world of plastic-surgery addiction. They discover that someone is hunting a group of exiled aliens whose only vice is a compulsion to get cosmetic surgery. Meanwhile, Wendy's upset that Ben (her sorta boyfriend) posted their breakup video online. And she has to avoid Lacey her roommate, who is channeling her inner therapist. (Finally, an episode about aliens instead of demons!) [Middlefan]

<![CDATA[ An Unlikely Guest Star Returns In Transformers 2, Plus A New Caprica Character ]]> We're trying a bit of an experiment with morning spoilers — instead of dumping all the spoilers below the fold, we've created separate pages with spoilers for each movie/show/whatever. So if you don't want to know which characters from Transformers will be back in the sequel, you can avoid clicking that link. But if you're dying to see a new Incredible Hulk TV spot, in which Liv Tyler asks a weirdly sexual Hulk-related question, you can click the Hulk link. Also, if you want a motherlode of Battlestar/Caprica spoilers — including one actor naming the final cylon! (And then claiming it was a joke), click the BSG link. Ditto for some new Doctor Who plot info and rumors, and our wealth of new revelations on J.J. Abrams' not-an-X-Files-clone show Fringe. We've read some script pages from an upcoming Stargate: Atlantis episode and dug up some new stills in which Robert Picardo looks quite fetching, but you can easily avoid seeing those by accident now. And you can also completely avoid some new Kyle XY spoilers. Your spoiler choices are infinitely customizable. So let us know what you think!

<![CDATA[ The Sci Fi Channel May Save Our Summer ]]> We may mock the Sci Fi Channel, but its ratings are soaring — and soon, it'll be the only thing on television. The summer TV drought is almost upon us, even more unbearable than usual after a spring stunted by the writers' strike. So it's a good thing that Sci Fi just announced its summer schedule, including new episodes of Stargate: Atlantis (starting July 11) and Eureka (starting July 29). We'll do a summer TV guide later, but the other big highlight seems to be ABC Family's The Middle Man, which stars June 16. (And maybe new Kyle XY, but that hasn't been announced.) [MeeVee]

<![CDATA[ First Look At Anna Torv In Fringe And Hiro's New Foe! ]]> spoilersq8.jpgToday's spoilers include clips from the next episodes of castaway drama Lost and time-travel adventure Doctor Who. And another early review of M. Night Shyamalan's apocalyptic movie The Happening gives away most of its plot twists — but they don't sound that twisty in any case. We have the first promo image from J.J. Abrams' FBI show Fringe, and a picture of Hiro's new enemy on super-mutants show Heroes. Plus there's the secret ending of tonight's episode of young-Superman show Smallville, and some minor spoilers for Chuck, Kyle XY and Stargate: Atlantis. Spoilers are our life's blood, so drink up!

The Happening:

Another bad early review of M. Night Shyamalan's The Happening has gone up online. It's "The Birds without any birds." A neuro-toxin is released without any warning around the Northeastern U.S., and it causes people to murder themselves in terrible ways. Early on, we see a cellphone video of a guy walking into a lion cage without any awareness of what he's doing. And a row of people shoot themselves, and when each person drops the gun, the next person picks it up and uses it.

Mark Wahlberg is a passive-aggressive high-school teacher who's on the outs with his wife, Zooey Deschanel. They flee together, along with a few other people (plus the daughter of a fellow teacher) and they try to figure out what's happened. There are some War Of The Worlds-style fleeing sequences, including a barn with a trigger-happy farmer. And then it turns out the plants are releasing the neuro-toxin to get rid of the pesky humanity. Shyamalan attempts to "cut to a menacing-looking tree." And then they find a nice old lady whose house was built for hiding slaves — which turns out to come in handy. And instead of the trademark Shyamalan twist ending, the film has no ending at all. It just stops. Oh, and here are some images I don't think we've shown before. [Collider]

Fringe:

Here's the first promotional still from Fringe, J.J. Abrams' show that's really not an X-Files rip off. This must be from the scene where Anna Torv puts on a bikini to go inside the mind of her comatose boyfriend John. [New York Times]
15adco.600.jpg

Smallville:

On tonight's Smallville, Lex tells Clark he loved him (like a brother). And then they have their big showdown, and a buttload of stuff falls on top of Lex. The show ends with a big cliffhanger: is Lex alive or dead? [Serrico]

Stargate: Atlantis:

In season five of Stargate: Atlantis, Teyla keeps the baby. [Friendshipper]

Doctor Who:

Here's a snippet from the script for Saturday's Doctor Who episode featuring Agatha Christie:
ROGER: Miss Christie, I've a question. Why a Belgian detective?
AGATHA: The Belgians make such lovely buns
REVEREND GOLIGHTLY: Where do you get your ideas from?
AGATHA: Murder is easy, vicar, when you've killed as many people as I have.
And a clip. It's not really a spoiler to reveal that the Doctor and Donna will have to explain they're not married at this point, is it? [Planet Gallifrey]

Chuck:

Chuck's producers are looking for a major star to play a retired secret agent who gets called out of retirement to tutor Chuck. [Chuck TV]

Heroes:

Here's a first look at Daphne, the speedster who confounds Hiro in the new season of Heroes. [Heroes TV Show Spoilers]
Heroes-spoilers-Daphne.jpg

Lost:

Here are some more sneak peeks at tonight's episode, including Michelle Forbes:

Kyle XY:

In the Kyle XY third season premiere, Kyle will meet face to face with the scientists of Latnok at last. He'll mostly interact with one of them, Daniel Cassidy. Kyle insists he'll never work for Latnok, but Cassidy is sure Kyle will eventually come back to the people who created him. [TV Squad]

<![CDATA[ What Happens After The Oceanic Six Get Home? ]]> spoilersq4.jpgEvery day, we scan through reams of spoilers for Gossip Girl (someone's gay) and Grey's Anatomy (someone is having a relationship, or not) just to find a few precious nuggets of scifi spoilerage. Today's results include a ton of details on the filming of the end of Lost season four, plus two new clips and some new stills. We found out what to expect from the second and third movies in the Iron Man trilogy (yes, already.) We have some minor spoilers for X-Files 2 and Battlestar Galactica. There are tons of pics from Indiana Jones and Spectacular Spider-Man. Plus, if you've actually been watching Kyle XY (like I have) there's a spoiler that will make you blow some fuses. Don't click the "More" unless you're a spoiler whore.

Indiana Jones:

Here are a bunch of stills and production photos from Indiana Jones And The Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull, some of which are new and some of which are just much higher resolution than before. Not terribly spoilery, except that there's quicksand. And skeletons who aren't crystal. [Slashfilm]

Iron Man:

There's a scene in Iron Man where inventor Tony Stark's best friend Jim Rhodes looks at the Mark II Iron Man armor and says to himself, "Next time, baby." This is fueling speculation that the next movie would see Rhodes suiting up as War Machine — or, more likely, replacing Tony as Iron Man for a while first. And you won't see the way the movie introduces superspy organization S.H.I.E.L.D. coming, either. And there are tons of hints about uber-villain The Mandarin, who's not in this film. Also, the movie's end credits include animations that reference War Machine. [Rotten Tomatoes, via Cinematical]

And there are tons of hints that the next two movies in the would-be trilogy will address Tony's alcoholism (a big theme in the later comics) and Rhodes' arc on the way to becoming War Machine. [Moviefone]

And here's an incredibly boring behind-the-scenes video about Iron Man, in which director Jon Favreau points at a bunch of empty rooms and said, "this was where we shot the cave scenes, but we already took those sets down. This was his workshop, but it's been dismantled now." It includes some footage from the movie, but it's mostly stuff you've seen before. [MySpace]

X-Files: I Want To Believe:

World's most minor spoiler: Someone got a copy of the X-Files: I Want To Believe script and said the following three words appear on page 17: "believe," "visions," and "cigarette." [Thanks to Ewan]

Battlestar Galactica:

Nana Visitor (Kira from Star Trek: Deep Space Nine) talked a bit about her role in episode six of Battlestar Galactica, as a fellow cancer patient who drives President Roslin nuts. "I'm dying and losing my hair. Talk about looking bad." She's not a Cylon, but her character does give "a glimpse of the other side, [what happens] when you die." [Jonja.net, thanks Chris]

Spectacular Spider-Man:

Here are some stills from this Saturday's Spectacular Spider-Man, which introduces the Green Goblin, and includes a big role for Mary-Jane Watson.

Lost:

At least one of the stars of Lost was in an "altered state" when E! Online visited the set recently. And Charlie puts in an appearance in next week's episode.

Meanwhile, the show just filmed the scene where the Oceanic Six arrive back in civilization, via a military transport plane. (And it sounds like they land in Honolulu, so Hawaii can actually play itself.) In another scene, the Six hold a press conference and are confronted by a very skeptical group of reporters, who have lots of questions and get some misleading answers. Also present at the press conference: Margo Shepherd and David and Carmen Reyes. The press asks:

Ms. Austen, how old is Aaron? Ms. Kwon, what happened to your husband? Mr. Reyes, what of your fortune, and this hefty airline settlement?
Also, they ask Hurley a question which comedians and fans have asked since season one, and it raises his hackles. Sayid "toes the line, but isn't happy about it." And the Six mention at least three characters who died in the first few seasons.

And here are more stills from the May 8 episode, showing Locke (and Claire?) in Jacob's Cabin, plus some goings-on on the freighter. [Spoilers Lost]

And here are two clips from next week's episode, "Something Nice Back Home":

Kyle XY:

Mark, that cute DJ who's been making a move on Kyle's step-sister Lori, is actually working for Latnok, the morally suspect group of scientists. And Kyle is going to get shot in season three. [Spoiler TV]

Also, Jessi XX, Kyle's female counterpart, will be back in season three and learning more hard lessons. Her biological mom Sarah (Ally Sheedy!) may also be back. And Kyle will come face-to-face with the scientists who created him, and have to deal with the fact that they're "not working with him." Kyle's relationship with his biological father Adam will be "doled out in pieces." Kyle's whole story arc has been planned out in advance, and may take him all the way through college. [TV Week]

<![CDATA[ TV This Week: Chief Tyrol Invades Smallville ]]> whattowatch.jpgIt's your last chance to get to know Kyle XY this week, and your second-to-last chance to discover Jericho before it goes away, maybe forever. Those both happen to be shows that I really disliked when they started, and they've both grown on me a lot. Meanwhile, Smallville features Chief Tyrol in full crazoid mode, and Lost has a script co-written by Brian K. Vaughan (Y: The Last Man). Click through for clips and full listings.

Tonight is the season finale of Kyle XY on ABC Family at 8. It's all about the senior prom, which looks chock full of heartwarming, judging from the trailers I've seen. At the same time, this show about a superpowered teen mutant has done a really great job of keeping a sinister undercurrent lately, and Kyle's female counterpart Jessi just gets more and more entertainingly psycho. So if you haven't checked it out yet, you may want to grab your last chance tonight. After all, the episode will also teach us that looking forward to your prom too much will turn you gay:

Also, the History Channel has a new Modern Marvels, about whiskey, at 8 PM. (Not really very science fictional, but maybe the whiskey is sentient?) And then a new Cities of the Underworld at 9 PM.

And Encore is showing Mission To Mars at 9:45, just in case you want to relive Gary Sinise's life-changing encounter with a cheesy CGI alien.

Tuesday night has the next-to-last episode of Jericho season two, on ABC at 10 PM. Sadly, this is looking more and more like the next-to-last episode of Jericho, period, unless the Sci Fi Channel decides Jericho is a better investment than another season of Ghost Hunters. As you'd expect, Major Beck is not terribly happy about the drastic actions that Stanley took at the end of the previous episode, and he's not willing to blame everything on New Bern. Here are the first five minutes of the episode. (I apologize for the streaky video, this is the best source I could find.)

Also, the History Channel has a rerun of The Universe, all about the possibility of life on Mars.

And Encore has back-to-back Aliens and Waterworld, starting at 11:40 AM.

And at 2:10 AM Wednesday morning, Encore has Ultraviolet, the second-best movie featuring Gun-Kata. (The first being director Kurt Wimmer's Equilibrium, of course.)

Wednesday, the Discovery Channel has a new Futureweapons, "Hard Target." Subjects include new inflatable armor, shoulder-fired grenades, and the A-10 Thunderbolt II attack plane. Good times! And at 10, the History Channel has a new UFO Hunters, "UFO Gateways." The Hudson Valley in New York has hosted more than its fair share of UFO sightings — could this area be an interstellar gateway, used to travel across time and space, or even between dimensions? Another possible gateway area is Sedona, Arizona.

And at 10:10, Encore has Alien 3, while FX shows Batman Begins at 5, followed by The Core at 8 and 11.

Thursday there's a new Smallville on The CW at 8. Lionel Luthor has Clark abducted, and there's some crazy prophecy about how The Traveler will change the Earth for ever. But the main reason to watch this episode is to see just how crazy Chief Tyrol has gone since a certain revelation at the end of Battlestar Galactica season three. Here's a clip:

And then there's a new Lost, on ABC at 9, where we find out what Michael's been up to all this time. And Ben tries to convince Alex to flee the Others' camp before a coming assault. We posted a couple of preview clips the other day, and here's the episode's promo:

As for movies, at 12:15 Friday morning, AMC has The Thing

Friday is pretty slow, except for a bunch of Stargate reruns on Sci Fi. Also, at 1 PM, USA has Timecop, the greatest time-traveling Jean Claude Van Damme movie ever.

And at midnight, A&E has The Matrix, while Encore has 12 Monkeys. Try flipping back and forth between the two movies to create a single, crazy-paranoid narrative where nothing is real. And at 1:30 Saturday morning, TBS has Mars Attacks!, followed by Eight-Legged Freaks at 3:45.

Saturday morning, The CW has Legion of Superheroes followed by Spectacular Spider-man (featuring the debut of the Lizard), starting at 9:30.

And then at 9 PM, there's a new Torchwood on BBC America. It's Gwen's wedding day, but unfortunately, she's got a little surprise on the way. Zany wedding-pregnancy action, plus creepy monsters. You can read our recap of the episode here.

Sunday has the first hour of the broadcast premiere of Futurama: Bender's Big Score, in case you didn't already get the DVD. That's on Comedy Central at 8.

<![CDATA[ TV This Week: Come Back To Smallville! ]]> whattowatch.jpgI'm going to try something a bit different starting with this week's TV column. Instead of just telling you what's on TV and letting you make up your own mind, I'm going to recommend stuff. I'm going to explain to you why Kyle XY really is a better show than you ever realized, and why it's time to give Smallville another chance. And why several thousand of your friends should be watching Jericho. Advocacy, and preview clips from Jericho, Smallville and Lost, below the fold.

Monday night now has a Sarah Connor-shaped hole. (And a Heroes-shaped hole, and (sigh) a Journeyman-shaped hole too.) But there's still Kyle XY on ABC Family at 8, for another couple of weeks, and I'm going to explain to why this show is way better than you give it credit for. For one thing, it does the teen-with-superpowers thing better than any show since Buffy. And you can tell the characters care about each other. Plus, even though it's supposedly family friendly, it actually gets pretty raunchy, as in one recent episode where Kyle's stepsister Lori had to deal with her ex-boyfriend wanting to still have the occasional booty call. And this season features a female version of Kyle named Jessi XX, who is crazy and sadistic. Last week, she made Kyle's stepbrother do pushups with an evil leer on her face. But mostly, you should watch for Ally Sheedy, who just started playing Jessi's mom. We featured an awesome clip of Ally in action the other day. Ally Sheedy! I would watch her in anything.

Also today, the Sci Fi Channel is showing a marathon of the underrated show Odyssey 5 all afternoon. Probably right now, as you read this. Ditch work and go home to check it out. It features a car in space. And it did mental time-travel long before Lost.

And FX is showing The Day After Tomorrow at 5:30 PM, in case you saw 10,000 B.C. and want another hit of Emmercrack right away. And there's a new episode of Modern Marvels called "Strange Weapons" on the History Channel at 8 PM. Strange weapons are definitely the best kind.

Tuesday, there's a new episode of post-apocalyptic drama Jericho on CBS at 10 PM. As you can see from the five-minute preview clip below, it picks up right where last week's shocking episode left off. The military contractors that were put in charge of running the plucky town that survived a nuclear attack are openly treating Kansas like Iraq now, and acting as though they're above the law. It's hard to believe there are only two more episodes left after this one — and they may be the last, unless you can convince a few million people to tune in. Check out the first five minutes of the episode, and then start bugging your friends:

Right before Jericho, there's a new episode of The Universe on the History Channel at 9 PM. It's called "Colonizing Space," and it sounds pretty fucking trippy. It explains how we will grow food on Mars, and how we will recycle wastewater (read: drink our own pee) and introduce greenhouse gases to "revive" the red planet. It sounds totally demented, and I bet there will be CGI animations showing how greenhouse gases will make Mars semi-terraformed.

Also on Tuesday/Wednesday at midnight, there's Cherry 2000 on Encore. Robot sex, plus Melanie Griffith doing Mad Max. Come on, you know that's better than sleeping.

Wednesday, ABC Family is showing Pleasantville, which is sort of slipstream, except it's not all that great. But it does feature Joan Allen masturbating and causing a nearby tree to spontaneously combust. Plus Reese Witherspoon is the school slut! (Somehow I doubt ABC Family will show this film uncut.) There's also a rerun of UFO Hunters on History at 10 PM.

Thursday at 8, there's a new Smallville on The CW. The show's back after a brief hiatus, and Pete Ross returns for a guest appearance. Remember him? Clark's best friend? And now he's got superpowers from — I wish I was kidding about this — meteor-laced chewing gum. It's that extra flavor stripe that gives you the power to stretch and sort of teleport your hands, apparently. Actually, I'm not clear on what Pete's superpower is, but it seems to involve a weird noise. Here's an unfinished preview clip from the episode:

And then at 9, there's a new Lost on ABC. If you average out the quality of "The Constant" and "The Other Woman," you get a pretty good couple of episodes. In general, the consensus seems to be that the show's improved a lot this season. And this week, you get to find out who the last two members of the Oceanic Six are (which should surprise nobody.) We also deal more with that "pregnant women die on the island" thing, which always weirds me out. Here's the trailer for the episode, and check out the two preview clips we posted on Friday:

Or if you're over Smallville and Lost, you can watch 12 Monkeys on Encore at 8, and daydream about the days when Terry Gilliam was still great.

Thursday/Friday at 3:00 AM, there's a TV movie called Alien Abduction on Sci Fi. A woman gets abducted by aliens and then winds up in a mental institution. Where the quality of the anal probes is much lower.

Friday night, there's a rerun of a House episode about a boy who claims that he's been abducted by aliens, and he has a tracking device in his neck. Is he right? Are alien abductions going to become part of the ongoing storylines in the hospital? I won't give away the twist ending, but someone on IMDB calls this the "worst House episode ever." Based on the full synopsis, the episode is definitely science fiction in any case.

Also, the Disney Channel has Sky High at 8 PM. Sci Fi has a couple of Stargate: Atlantis reruns at 9 and 10, and Encore has the original Alien at 9:50.

Saturday, there's a new Torchwood at 6 and 9 on BBC America. I'm not sure which episode we're up to in America, but it scarcely matters. The major character who died a while back is still dead, and angsting about it. That goes on for about three episodes in a row, and you may not actually be able to tell them apart even while watching them. Here are our recaps of the most recent episodes. Actually, Torchwood was doing a lot better for a while there, and the main reason to keep watching is to hope it pulls back up again.

Also, on Saturday morning, there's back-to-back Legion of Superheroes and Spectacular Spider-Man, starting at 9:30 AM on The CW. And then at 1 PM, The CW is showing Solaris, the Soderbergh/Clooney remake. At 3:10 on TMC, there's Free Enterprise, the weird movie about Star Trek fans that helped turn William Shatner into the self-mocking figure he is today. And Disney has The Incredibles at 9 PM.

Sunday evening, G4 is showing a bunch of reruns of Wired For Sex, which is worth checking out if you haven't seen it. Find out about that whole cybersex thing the kids are into.

<![CDATA[ Wolverine's Arch-Enemy Has Matching Sideburns ]]> morningspoilers2.jpgThe first pictures of Wolverine's rival Sabretooth (from the Wolverine origin movie) have surfaced, and it looks as though the movie will be about the clash of the gigantic sideburns. We also have a new clip from Doomsday, and crazy Iron Man rumors. Plus we have some news about Smallville, including a shocking development in April — and who's back for Smallville season eight. Plus a clip of Ally Sheedy's upcoming guest spot on Kyle XY. Click through to besmirch your pristine mind with evil spoilers!

  • Here are those Wolverine set photos, showing Liev Schrieber's Sabretooth and Hugh Jackman's Wolverine, hanging out and eating apples. Schrieber has sideburns that match Hugh's, but crazy nails instead of metal claws. The photos are not that exciting, but they do give you a sense of how closely the two "animal" mutants will resemble each other in the new movie. And this is probably from a segment where the two mutants are part of some kind of military black-ops team, hence the uniforms. Just Jared, via FirstShowing]
  • Here's a roundup of mostly old spoilers for Iron Man, Marvel's new movie about a guilt-ridden weapons merchant who dresses in a suit of power armor. It does include some wacky rumors, like the idea that Hillary Swank will play the Black Widow, a Russian super-spy, and Edward Norton's Bruce Banner will turn up. [UGO]
  • Here's another new clip from the post-apocalyptic disease movie Doomsday, which opens March 14. [MTV Movies]
  • As you may have heard, Smallville is getting an eighth season. But it turns out Michael Rosenbaum (Lex Luthor) and Kristin Kreuk (Lana Lang) won't be back as regulars. They may make guest appearances, however. Also, a Smallville regular dies in the April 17 episode, the first one written after the strike. This won't be a fake death, or a clone death, but real and irrevocable. [Ask Ausiello]
  • In the Kyle XY season finale, everybody goes to the prom! Wheee! Kyle struggles to plan a night that Amanda won't forget, Josh wonders what Andy has planned for their big date, and Declan resolves to show Lori his true feelings. But meanwhile Kyle's female counterpart Jessi XX has some news about her relationship with her mom, played by Ally Sheedy. And here's a Sheedy's appearance in the episode before that, which airs March 10. [Spoiler TV]

<![CDATA[ New Clips Of Cylon Showdown In Battlestar Season 4 ]]> morningspoilers2.jpgTen clips from the new Battlestar Galactica season have turned up online, and they're pretty damn spoilery. Gunplay, throat-slitting, ballet dancing... it's all happening. Plus some new insights into what the Cylons think is going on. Click through to watch, and to learn more secrets about Lost and Kyle XY.

Here are the clips. I had to guess which order to edit them together in, so fingers crossed: I'm guessing the line about "They're tools, not pets" refers to the Centurions. But I have no idea what Lee says he has to do. And apparently Gaius can see the Gaius that appears in the Caprica Six's head now. Does that mean she can see his Six as well?

More spoilers:

  • You can listen in advance to the producers' podcast for tonight's episode of Lost, which gives some clues as to the fact that Desmond time-travels to his own past in 1994. [Spoilers Lost]
  • I know, you're crying out for more details about Ally Sheedy on Kyle XY. Will she dance on a railing? We don't know. But what we do know is, Kyle meets up with Ally after exchanging messages with her for a while. And Sarah reveals that Brian wants to show off her daughter Jessi's abilities, to regain some cred with the folks at Latnok. That organization still has the same goal: to advance civilization, by creating super-smart humans. Ally Sheedy had to leave Latnok because she took everything too personally, and the people at Latnok are "too impersonal." Ally doesn't want to meet up with her daughter Jessi, and tell her about Brian's ebil plan. But Kyle finally convinces her to talk to Jessi after all. Somehow, that doesn't sound as awesome as the Breakfast Club. [TV Squad]

<![CDATA[ Can You Keep Ally Sheedy's Secret? ]]> morningspoilers2.jpgToday's morning spoilers is all about television, including some stuff that won't come to pass until next fall. Find out which regular character may not be back on Heroes next year, and which surprising cast member will make a return appearance on Doctor Who. We also have some new hints about next year's Stargate: Atlantis. Oh, and Ally Sheedy has a secret she needs your help keeping. Click through for spoilers.

  • Heroes may or may not feature Kristen Bell's Elle when it returns next fall. She's not signed for season three, but the producers are talking to her about coming back for an "arc" during the season. [Ask Ausiello]
  • Fans snooping around during the filming of the Doctor Who fourth season finale report that not only is Rose back, but so is her dad, her mom and her (ex?) boyfriend Mickey. That's in addition to Captain Jack, Martha, Donna, Sarah Jane and maybe the Doctor's (fake) daughter. [Tardis_Crossing]
  • But other fans suggest that maybe Captain Jack will meet Rose, but the Doctor won't? [Time And Chips]
  • And finally, some fans speculate (hope?) that the Doctor and Rose will settle down to raise the Doctor's daughter and start populating a new Gallifrey. It'll be all cozy! [SunnyTyler001]
  • Spoilers for some upcoming Stargate: Atlantis episodes: in the fourth season finale, Sheppard has gotten sent over 40,000 years into the future, but a significantly aged McKay appears via hologram and explains he has a plan to send Sheppard back, and undo a future that went horribly wrong. In season five episode three, Ronon gets reunited with his friend Tyre, who's broken free from his brainwashing. But the Wraith capture Ronon, so the Atlantis team has to face the possibility that the Wraith could turn Ronon into another Wraith worshipper. During the course of the Wraith torture, Ronon loses his signature dreadlocks. [Gateworld]
  • On the Kyle XY season finale airing March 10, Ally Sheedy asks Kyle to keep her identity a secret. If I met Ally Sheedy, I would have to blab to everyone I know, and most of the people I didn't. Actually, Ally's big secret is the fact that her character is the mother of Jessi XX, Kyle's female counterpart. Oh, and there's prom angst. [Turkey Whisperer]

<![CDATA[ TV This Week: Crunch Time For Scifi Shows ]]> whattowatch.jpgThe biggest cliffhangers on TV this week are the ones that you, the viewers, will resolve on your own. Will Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles pull out of its ratings slump in time to win a second season? Will Jericho improve on last week's blah performance enough to avoid a second cancellation? It's crunch time for some SF TV shows. Click through for full listings, plus we have sneak preview clips of this week's Lost and Sarah Connor.

Monday, there's a new Kyle XY (ABC Family, 8 PM). Judging from the trailer below, Kyle will actually start using his awesome powers to beat up other kids, which seems like a step forward. And Jessi will master telekinesis and looking hot on an exercise machine.

And then there's a new Sarah Connor Chronicles (Fox, 9 PM). We have two clips below, one of which is sort of good and one of which... isn't. Honestly, watching these two clips, I feel as though I've spotted a crucial flaw with this show: there's too much of Summer Glau's Terminator standing around talking. It was sort of cool at first, but it's starting to get a bit monotonous, especially since they keep playing the "she's a heartless machine" card. Plus, they're not called Talkinators.

Also on Monday, AMC has Terminator 2 at 3 PM, in case you want to compare Sarah Connors. (Probably a bad idea.) And HBO has Star Wars: Episode III at 2 PM.

Tuesday, there's a new Jericho (CBS, 10 PM). A very important person decides to make a surprise visit to the embattled post-apocalyptic town of Jericho, and gives Hawkins an unexpected opportunity to learn something about the bombs. It's the most political episode yet, and the one that made me decide Jericho was on a roll this year.

Also on Tuesday, there's a new Nova (PBS, check your listings.) Learn about the differences between ape and human minds, and what apes can teach us about people. Here's the Nova online companion for the episode. And in movies, TMC has Godsend, in which Rebecca Romjin-Stamos' genes are so important that we must resort to cloning to preserve them. That's at 9:35.

Wednesday, there's an all-new UFO Hunters (History Channel, 10 PM). Turns out they have UFOs in Mexico as well. Who knew?

Thursday, There's a new Lost (ABC, 9 PM). In the future, Kate is an assassin... and she's working for Ben! Oh, wait. Actually, if you want to know all about Future Kate, click here. And here are two new preview clips:
